I'm not sure why you made that last statement, bro...

I made that statement to pose a question bro... you said:

Not. But waking up is a normal function. It is not a necessary special experience required for something to happen. That's exactly what I was getting at. The church is already "alive" by virtue of Christ; Christ is the "life" of the Body. He does not need a special "awakening."

I was asking if that be so that the church does not need a special awakening.

It also did not need a special awakening before Jesus's return.

I am saying that God was present before Jesus walked the earth has a man.

I am saying there were Humans and churches that were under the Guidence of God before Jesus.

In short I mean that If a revival was needed back in thoe days why do you think we do not need it now ?

Why do you think it is a man made invention.

Iin any case I think that you are confusing terms here. What you are describing in terms of church history are not revivals that spawned certain movements, but the recoveries of certain truths according to God's vision.

How do you bookmark them has movements and not revivals ?.

"For thus says the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of contrite ones."

Isaiah 57:15

Charles Finney said in one of his lectures on revival, 1872-1875;

"...their love (the church) for men will be renewed and they will be in agony for individuals they want saved. They will not only be urging them to give their hearts to the Lord, but they will carry them to God on the arms of faith and with strong crying and tears beseech God to have mercy on them and save their souls from a burning hell...the conduct of the wicked drives Christians to pray, breaks them down and makes them sorrowful and tender-hearted so they can weep day and night; instead of scolding the wicked, they pray earnestly for them. Then, you may expect revival. Indeed, it has already begun."

Mr Finney listed several reason for the NEED of revival.

1. When there is want of brotherly love among Christians.

2. When there are dissensions, jealousies, evil speaking in the church.

3. When there is a worldly spirit in the church. When you see Christians conforming to the world in their dress, equipage, "parties", seeking worldly amusement, reading novels and other such stuff such as the world reads.

(for us today also, t.v., movies, music, games...)

4. When the church finds it's members falling into gross and scandalous sins, then it is time to awake and cry to God for revival. When such things take place as to give the enemies of religion (Christiandom) as occassion of reproach, it is time

to ask God, "What will become of Thy great Name?"

(Sound familiar )

5. When there is a spirit of controversy in the church. (gay rights...)

6. When the wicked triumph over the churches and revile them.

7. When Christians are asleep while sinners all around them are on their way to hell.

"Unless there is revival you may expect judgments. The fact is Christians are more to blame for not being revived that the sinner's are for not being converted. And, if they are not awakened they may know assuridly that God will visit them with judgments."

"Revival may be expected when Christians have a spirit of prayer for a revival. When their hearts are set upon it."

"Wilt Thou not revive us again, that Thy people may rejoice." Psalms 85:6

Revival looks like joy. Revival looks a lot like the Image of Christ.

Start with me Lord.

To me, when I think about revival, I think about a powerful refreshing in, refilling of God's power, of His Holy Spirit, of His love. I think of it as being suddenly consumed by His love, consumed by everything He is. Our reaction to this revival would be a moment of total abandon to His will, total surrender to Him, a supernatural love for Him, an overflowing joy bringing rivers of tears in our eyes.

It is just like when we first accepted Jesus in our heart. What a tremendous moment when for the first time we were filled with the Holy Spirit and experienced a love we never knew existed.

Just thinking about it I have tears coming to my eyes.

Revive us, Oh Lord! Amen. :)

Amen! .... There is a urgency in my heart , that goes deep ..,, we had revival services last week at our church, many were refreshed and a few came to know The Lord , Praise The Lord!. But it just doesnt stop there .... My heart also was reckoned with .. The Holy Spirit delt with me all week getting lack of sleep from long services but it was a good reckoning ... I was brought to a place of total Humbleness, crying.. weeping... with such brokeness all I had to depend on was Him to comfort me .... I for one do not want any of my family or friends or aquaintances perish or not have a chance to serve The Lord in His will for their lives, we all will stand before Him one day and be held accountable for what we did or did not do for Him. I Pray on That day that we can hear from Jesus....."Well Done Good and Faithful Servant"

Love in Christ .. Yur Bro .. Chuck

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
