At the beginning it was seen that it was said by Roman Catholicism's doctrine:
Hence Christ is present in the sacrament with His Flesh and Blood, Body and Soul, Humanity and Divinity. ...

... In the absence of Scriptural proof, the Church finds a warrant for, and a propriety in, rendering Divine worship to the Blessed Sacrament in the most ancient and constant tradition...” - Transubstantiation, Catholic Encyclopedia; - CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: The Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist

"... The doctrine of the Real Presence developed slowly; its first official formulation was by the Council of Nicea in 787.  In 855 a French Benedictine monk, Ratramnus, taught that the consecrated bread and wine were only spiritually, not carnally, the body and blood of Christ.  About 1045 Berengar, Archdeacon of Tours, questioned the reality of transubstantiation; he was excommunicated ...

The doctrine was proclaimed as an essential dogma of the Church by the Lateran Council of 1215; and the Council of Trent in 1560 added that every particle of the consecrated wafer, no mater how broken, contains the whole body, blood, and soul of Jesu Christ.  Thus one of the oldest ceremonies of primitive religion - the eating of the god - is widely practiced and revered in European and American civilization today. ..." - The Story of Civilization, Volume IV, The Age of Fath, page 741, by Will Durant; A History of Medieval Civilization - Christian, Islamic, and Judaic - from Constantine to Dante: AD. 325-1300; Simon and Schuster, New York: 1950 - https://archive.org/stream/storyofcivilizat04dura#page/741/mode/1up

"... In a very remarkable passage quoted by A. Erman (ZA xxxviii. [1900] 30-33) Osiris is addressed as follows:
'When canals are dug, ... houses and temples are built, when monuments are transported, and fields are cultivated, when tomb-chapels are excavated, they rest on thee, it is thou who makest them.  They are on thy back, though they are more than can be put into writing.  [Thy] back hath not an empty place, for they all lie on thy back; but [thou sayest] not: "I am weighted down."  Thou art the father and mother of men, they live in thy breath, they eat of the flesh of thy body.  The Primeval is thy name.'

The last sentence show the process by which Osiris is being gradually transformed.  He is now an earth-god; the atmosphere is his also; further, he is beginning to become a god of sustenance- 'they eat of the flesh of thy body.'  The process takes another step, in which Osiris is identified, not only with the soil, but also with the grain and the fruiitful plants produced by the soil, and becomes a god of corn and wine.  He had already reached this stage by the date of the Pyramid texts. ..." - Encyclopædia of Religion and Ethics: Volume IX, Mundas-Phrygians, section 'NATURE (Egyptian)', page 219; edited by James Hastings, with the assistance of John A. In their amazement, they did not reflect, whether these things were not the natural expression of the religious feeling common to all nations who have reached even a moderate civilization.  They did not inquire, whether the same things were not practised by other idolatrous people.  They could not suppress their wonder, as they beheld the Cross, the sacred emblem of their own faith, raised as an object of worhip in the temples of Anahuac.  They met with it [page 480-481] in various places; and the image of the cross may be seen at this day, sculptured in bas-relief, on the walls of one of the buildings of Palenque, while a figure bearing some resemblance to that of a child is held up to it, as if in adoration. Their surprise was heightened, when they witnessed a religious rite which reminded them of the Christian [Catholic] communion.  On these occasions, an image of the tutelary deity of the Aztecs was made of flour of maize, mixed with blood, and, after consecration by the priests, was distributed among the people, who, as they ate it, "showed signs of humiliation and sorrow, declaring it was the flesh of the deity!" However, even in simply looking at the words themselves in the Gospels, is Jesus' "Divinity", His "Godhead" (Acts 17:29; Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9), anywhere mentioned in the following phrases?  It is not:
Matthew 26:26  And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
Where does Jesus say, "This is my Godhead (Divinity)"? Jesus spake of "body" and "blood", neither of which came down from Heaven, but are of the earth, earthy (see Matthew 16:17 in regards the Father; see also 1 Corinthians 15:50; Galatians 1:16; Ephesians 6:12 and especially Hebrews 2:14 along with Philippians 2:5-11, for before taking on Himself human nature, He had not that nature, and did not have that nature until the Mystery of Godliness (Luke 1:31), God was manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16)).

In fact, the very humanity which Jesus had upon Himself, then, died upon the cross and was buried, the blood spilt at Calvary, the base of the Altar of sacrifice.  It was the likeness of sinful flesh (fallen flesh), that was upon the Cross, not the glorified body of the resurrection (which cannot die, cannot be sacrificed, Romans 6:9; Revelation 1:18).  How then will Roman Catholicism's doctrine say that the literal aging fallen flesh of Jesus which hung upon the cross give life?  When the flesh itself died?

Matthew 26:27  And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
Matthew 26:28  For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Matthew 26:29  But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Also, consider that Jesus Christ explicitly calls the drink in the cup, the "fruit of the vine", and that He himself had previously drank of the "fruit of the vine".  Will Roman Catholicism's doctrine say "the vine" was symbolic of Jesus, "the vine"???  if they do, they undermine their own position of 'the strictest literal'.  Additionally, is "the cup" itself drank, or that which is in "the cup" drank?  How 'strictly literal' does Roman Catholicism's doctrine choose to be here?  Notice, also that Christ Jesus previously drank of this "fruit of the vine", and had eaten of the bread earlier:

Luke 22:15  And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:

I may come back to the "bread" portion some more a bit later, but for now, I will turn to the "cup" (Matthew 26:27; Mark 14:23; Luke 22:17,20; 1 Corinthians 10:16,21, 11:25,26,27,28) and the "fruit of the vine" (Matthew 26:29; Mark 14:25; Luke 22:18) therein of the Last Supper.

Who is your God? God, or the desire of the belly?

1 Corinthians 6:13 KJB - Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body [is] not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Philippians 3:19 KJB - Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their] belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Let us begin this study on the "Wines" of the Bible:

There are
two 'kinds' of Wine in the Scriptures [and this will be thoroughly shown from Genesis to Revelation]:

one of Blessing
...and the other of Cursing,

one of
Life
...and the other of Death,

one of
Joy/Happiness/Peace
...and the other of Woe/Sorrow/Strife,

one of
FATHER/CHRIST JESUS/HOLY SPIRIT/GOD
...and the other of Babylon/Belial/Serpent/Devil/Satan/Dragon.

This study is primarily not dealing with the "amount" of each wine, for that is the not the main consideration [though it will also be addressed], but rather the primary search is about the very "nature" itself of these two 'kinds' of wines.  Thus once the "nature" of them is revealed from scripture, the "amount" discussion becomes easier, for it is obvious that there can never be any "amount" of "wickedness" sanctioned should one prove to be so.

We shall understand that from each
'wine', that they are a tree which will be known by its very fruit.

Shall we consider the sciptures in total?

Let us also ask, at the outset, "Is there a dual use for the word "wine" in common language and is there such a use in the scriptures?" Let us look, and see that the answer is "Yes."

Well, in demonstrating the accuracy in saying "Yes" to the first half of the question:

"Wine – noun

... [3].
the juice, fermented or unfermented, of various other fruits or plants, used as a beverage, sauce, etc. ..." [Wine, definition] - http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/wine

"Wine - noun

... something that
invigorates or intoxicates ..." [Wine, definition] - http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/wine

And for additional purposes...

See that word,
"intoxicate"?  What does the word "intoxicate" mean?

Word Definition:

"Intoxicate - transitive verb

1 poison

2 a : to excite or stupefy by alcohol or a drug especially to the point where physical and mental control is markedly diminished b : to excite or elate to the point of enthusiasm or frenzy" [Intoxicate, definition] - http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/intoxicate

Let us also ask a very basic question pertaining to these, "Can a person who is “intoxicated” [“poisons”] by any amount of such 'kind' of “wine” which is “alcoholic” bring “glory to God” in their drinking?"

What does the alcohol do to a persons health?

It impairs brain activity, slows down reactionary time, attacks kidneys, liver, bloodstream, causing cancer, disease, dizziness, loose morality, causing one to forget, relaxes and/or reduces self-control
[thus giving up of the will], etc and is one of the major leading causes of death, abuse and misery in the world. Even the smallest amount begins to break down the immune system of the human body [multiple medical research reports can be cited for these facts if needed, though it should be plainly obvious [but for a brief, http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/yourlif....s_N.htm  ], also ask those of SADD and MADD].

However, let us also consider further history of the word "wine":

Aristotle ["...(384 BC – 322 BC)[1] was a Greek philosopher and polymath, a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the Great." [Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aristotle ]] said, "...Sweet wine does give off fumes, for it contains fat and behaves like oil. It does not solidify under the influence of cold and it is apt to burn. Really it is not wine at all in spite of its name: for it does not taste like wine and consequently does not inebriate as ordinary wine does. ...

...(Wine is a liquid which raises a difficulty: for it is both liable to evaporation and it also thickens; for instance new wine does.
The reason is that the word 'wine' is ambiguous and different 'wines' behave in different ways." - Meteorlogica Book IV [English] - http://classics.mit.edu/Aristotle/meteorology.4.iv.html

Merriam-Websters 1828 Dictionary: "MUST, n. [L. mustum; Heb. to ferment.]; New wine; wine pressed from the grape but not fermented." - http://machaut.uchicago.edu/?resour....1828=on

And for many more, consider reading [or checking the references page of] [The Bible Wine Question.  The Answer To The 'Unanswerable': Or An Exposure Of The Fallacies Of Three Irish Advocates (Professors Watts, Wallace And Murphy) And Eleven Syrian Witnesses; By Frederick Richard Lees] - https://books.google.com/books?id=wG1GAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false
I can also recommend - Bible Wines, Laws of Fermentation; by William Patton - https://books.google.com/books?id=7AEAAAAAQAAJ&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false

We should seriously ask ourselves, "Does the alcohol bring life or death?"

Alcohol is merely a legalized [group morality] "intoxicant", another name for 'drug'. For those who advocate that a little or even 'moderate' [who defines that? and for whom?] use is ok, should also perhaps consider the "health benefits" and results of other such "intoxicants"/"drugs": caffeine [ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012....55.html ], nicotine/tobacco [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicotine_poisoning ], cannabis [ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health....ar.html ], etc - all destructive.

This should be sufficient in demonstrating the first half of the
"Yes.", but now let us consider in greater detail the second half of the "Yes." answer.

"...The English word "wine" comes from the Proto-Germanic *winam, an early borrowing from the Latin vinum, "wine" or "(grape) vine", itself derived from the Proto-Indo-European stem *win-o- (cf. Hittite: wiyana; Lycian: oino; Ancient Greek: οἶνος oinos; Aeolic Greek: ϝοῖνος woinos).[5][6]..." [Wikipedia, Wine], and therefore, simply means anything 'of the vine', without reference to anything of alcoholic or fermentation content, although it may include such in one of its definitions.

"Wines" The Biblical Definitions and Uses

Now let us consider the second half of that "Yes."  There is indeed a dual use of the word "Wine" in scripture, and once this is shown, we can begin to look at the two 'kinds'.

So, to be as open as possible, and completely true to the scriptures, there will now be listed
every known reference of the terminology and even a few associated terms [I apologize if I missed any...please notify me, I would like to add them to my list and consider them in context, thank you.  This will not be a brief listing, and so again, I apologize for those not desiring to consider thoroughly.  Additionally, Strong's Concordance definitions will be used as a mere reference tool, a help, not as the basis of any given definition, for that we will look contextually in the scripture for any given word.]

Let us look at the words used in scripture for "wine" and other such items:

The English word “
wine” is found 231 times in 212 verses in the King James Version [other versions/translations/etc are not here in consulted, though that would be quite 'interesting', to see what they have done in this aspect]:

With these words now listed and referenced, we can look to see if there is a dual use of the word "wine" in the scriptures in evidence of the "Yes." answer to the second half of the question previously asked.

In the Mouth of Two or Three Witnesses, let everything be established... for remember, all we are looking to do at this point is to establish that the Bible does indeed have a multiple use for the word
"wine", and that it does not have to always mean the fermented alcoholic variety of the term.

Good Wine, Unalcoholic, Unfermented Wine:

[1] Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and [one] saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing [is] in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. Isaiah 65:8

[2] Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries. Nehemiah 13:12

[3] So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Proverbs 3:10

These 3 simple texts reveal that the word "wine" is also meant of the simple juice of the Grapes, even ripe from the harvest, right off of the vine, right fresh and invigorating from the press vats, the very firstfruits of the harvest increase even.

Now let us begin to look deeper, and at specific texts, and we will also begin to consider the very
"nature" of the two 'kinds' of "wine".

The Bible over and over warns against any alcoholic content, to stay away from it, for it is connected with sin, and the devil.

Of alcoholic "wine" it is stated that ... it "stingeth like an adder" [Proverbs 23:32], "biteth like a serpent" [Proverbs 23:32], "poison of dragons" [Deuteronomy 32:33], "cruel venom of asps" [Deuteronomy 32:33], "mocker" [Proverbs 20:1], "raging" [Proverbs 20:1], "wounds without cause" [Proverbs 23:29], etc... also causing the forgetting of the Law and His Ten Commandments, and causing wrong judgment...and the Bible says "woe unto them".

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; thatput darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20

Woe unto [them that are] mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: Isaiah 5:22

Again, notice the very "nature" described, even without any mention of "amount". Is there a "blessing" or a "Woe" pronounced?

...and so I now ask a few more questions, based upon what we have gathered and in so looking at the terminology above, with whom are the terms associated with, Christ or Satan?

Who is the
"adder"?
Who is the
"serpent"?
Who is the
"asp"?
Who is the
"Dragon"?
Who is the one who is like a
"raging" beast and lion?
Who is the one which
"mocks"?
Who is the one which has given
"wounds without cause"?
Who is the one who is
"cruel"?

Notice the word associated with it is "poisons" and "venom", the very word linked to "intoxicating".

Notice the word "deceived" is associated with it, and who is the "deceiver", the root of all "deception"?

Does "life" "sting" or does rather "death" "sting"?

[Dear reader,

Dear brother or sister, think of the very Person whom we love, Christ Jesus, and how He was wounded without cause [pierced to the heart, pierced in hands and feet and side and head, wounded for our transgressions], for He is innocent, Lamb without spot, and who was the one which did that to Him?

Who mocked Him upon the Cross, "Come down..."?

Who Bit His Heel like a Serpent, and spat venom like the Asp and Adder?

Who wars and rages against Christ as the Dragon?

Who rages even now? And goes to make war with the remnant?

What had the devil even then tried to get Jesus to do? He tried to get Jesus to drink of the poison, and venom [Matthew 27:34; Mark 15:23], and He tried to get Jesus to sin on the Cross!

Christ Jesus poured out His life, the pure sweet blood [the prefect anti-type/reality of the pure juice of the grape] of His humanity, and the enemy sought to give him corrupted and sour/bitter wine..., but even then Jesus refused, even unto the end. Holy, Harmless, Undefiled.]

All of these terms are associated with alcoholic "wine" and even far more, and so can True Christians partake of it?

No, brothers and sisters, we cannot, must not, lest we be destroyed of it, lest we desire to mock Christ, desire to infect others with the cruel venom of the serpent...

The "Nature" of the "Wine"

The Bible over and over warns against alcoholic content, to stay away from it... and why? Because of its very "nature"... it is from corruption, destruction, sin, decay and death... and there are several examples which we may consider in the scriptures in the lives of those which partook of it and also of the sinful and sad effects and consequences which were the fruit of it...

Please notice with me the following text...

Wine [is] a mocker, strong drink [is] raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Proverbs 20:1

Take special notice that this text is clear, in that it does not mention anything about "quantity" here, but rather its inherent "nature".

It merely states the very nature of the thing, that this alcoholic
"wine" is,

Wine = mocker
Strong Drink = Raging

Classic Hebrew Definition, even Chiastic in structure and parallelism.

And it mentions those who are
"deceived" by them, thinking they are the masters over them ["Wine" [alcholic] and "Strong Drink"], are simply, and without equivocation, "not wise".

Therefore, as it is written:

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Galatians 6:7

...continuing looking at the very "nature" of the "wines", we can see further still, the clear and dire warnings given to us from God to stay well clear of the alcoholic content.

Let us consider a very abused and misunderstood text [Deuteronomy 14:26] and see what marvelous light is shining in it on this subject -

And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, Deuteronomy 14:26

And those which quote this text do so out of its marvelous typological context and even historical setting. They which utilize this text to say that they may drink alcoholic content, do not really understand what they are saying in using this text, for the “strong drink” was not to be consumed by the purchaser, but rather they were to be poured out unto the LORD as a “drink offering” which was associated with the “sin” and “burnt offerings”. The offerings connected, were the goat, or LORD's Goat and Lamb, etc, which represented Jesus Christ, the sin offering and the pur unblemished offering, which would be offered for the sin of the world, and the wine and strong drink were intimately connected with these. The pure Wine [blood of the grape of the vine] was Christ's pure blood, being poured out for the world, and the Strong Drink, which is alcoholic in content was representative of sin, and the wrath of God being poured out upon Christ Jesus, since He was made to be sin for us, who knew no sin. Those who desire to drink the alcoholic Strong Drink, are in reality saying they will drink down the wrath of God for their own sins.

Let's take a look at all of the texts Deuteronomy 14:2,3,21-26 [and context] which surround this, and know for certainty. Deuteronomy 14, is in the same context as Deuteronomy 12, and the giving of the delineations between that which was Holy and that which was not, between that which was Clean and that which was Unclean.

These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth. Deuteronomy 12:1

Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: Deuteronomy 12:2

And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place. Deuteronomy 12:3

Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 12:4

But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come: Deuteronomy 12:5

And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks: Deuteronomy 12:6

And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee. Deuteronomy 12:7

Notice now specifically in Deuteronomy 12:8, that the Children of God, were never to do after the manner of the heathen nations that they were to dispossess, and neither were they to do what was right in their own eyes:

Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes. Deuteronomy 12:8

The people that worshipped the false gods in the land they were to possess, would also offer drink offerings [Isaiah 57:6; Jeremiah 19:13; 32:29; 44:19; Ezekiel 20:28] to their gods [devils: Deuteronomy 32:17] in a perversion of the type given by God, but they would also drink of it, like unto Belial, Bacchus, etc, for instance see the case of Hannah, and the strong drink associated with Belial, in connection, and the pouring out of her soul before the Lord, a type:

And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth. 1 Samuel 1:12

Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken. 1 Samuel 1:13

And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee. 1 Samuel 1:14

And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD. 1 Samuel 1:15

Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto. 1 Samuel 1:16

Continuing with the Deuteronomy 12 context:

For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you. Deuteronomy 12:9

But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety; Deuteronomy 12:10

In connection with this, God made known about the “tithes”, which was never fermented, never alcoholic, but always the Best and Firstfruits of the Land/Crops, Firstlings of the flock, etc. He also makes known about the “vows”, and those things “vow[ed]” by the people did not then any longer belong unto them for their own use, but was dedicated unto the LORD and whatsoever He would use it for – Temple, Levites, Offerings, etc.

Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD: Deuteronomy 12:11

Further, we see that God spake that they should “rejoice” [vs 7 also], and this word “rejoice” means to be glad, to gladden or to be joyful [see Newly Married: Deuteronomy 24:5; fresh juice of the grape, of the vine: Judges 9:19; Psalms 104:15; Ecclesiastes 10:9; in salvation: 1 Samuel 2:1; Psalms 40:16; 53:6; connection with sacrifices and peace offerings: 1 Samuel 11:15; 1 Chronicles 29:9; Nehemiah 12:43; in those that seek the LORD: 1 Chronicles 16:10; Psalms 5:11; 32:11; in the Good and Perfect, Holy & Just Law of God: Psalms 19:8; in partaking of that which the LORD hath provided in Holiness: Ecclesiastes 8:5; etc] in the “good thing” [Deuteronomy 26:11, and in “goodness” 2 Chronicles 6:41], not in that which is wicked, evil or of the devil.

And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that [is] within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you. Deuteronomy 12:12

Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart. Deuteronomy 12:15

They could kill and “eat” [does not say “drink”] "flesh" [which is what the phrase "whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee" is pertaining to, and with obvious restrictions and limits for God had already declared to eat only that which was of the clean animals: Roebuck/hart/etc [Deuteronomy 14:4-6,9,11,20], and to eat nothing of the blood [Deuteronomy 12:16], nor which died on its own [Deuteronomy 14:21], nor of the unclean/abomination: Deuteronomy 14:3] and is not anywhere condoning the drinking of "strong drink" at all, as it never mentions “drinking” any of it. The “Strong Drink” is the “drink offering” associated with the various sacrifices that was to be poured out "unto the LORD".

When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after. Deuteronomy 12:21

The people could not simply eat and feast where they wanted with these items either, they had to do so in the specific and designated spot chosen by God [Deuteronomy 12:18; 14:23], with the given exception, though still allowed/commanded by God; Deuteronomy 12:21 and they were especially not to follow after any of the customs of the heathen nations [which were notorious for drinking strong drink unto their gods and having drunken festivals; Daniel 5:1,4,23; Hosea 3:1 or Dagon and others like Bacchus, etc.]:

Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Deuteronomy 12:30

Let us now consider the Deuteronomy 14 texts and their context, which is the second Tithe [for the first being already given unto the Levites, Numbers 18:21-24] and some of this tithe [the tenth, the best] was to be given unto strangers, orphans and widows [Deuteronomy 14:29; 26:12-15].

However, there were things to be offered
"unto the LORD". So, those who had a far distance to travel to get to the designated spot itself [where the Sanctuary was placed/stopped, eventually in Jerusalem], instead of carrying with or taking with them many items, harvest, livestock, they could at their earliest convenience trade those things in for money [vs 24] and then once arrived at the designated location, chosen by God [vs 23, where ever the Tabernacle had been moved to], purchase again "whatsoever thy soul desireth" [vs 26], and offer the sacrificial and drink offerings to the LORD first, and then later partake in the feasts. Notice that the very beginning of the chapter, speaks of Holiness unto the LORD, not debauchery, licentiousness, or revelry, etc, and they were to be “peculiar”, a purchased people, unto God, and they were to never eat any abominable thing:

For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. Deuteronomy 14:2

Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. Deuteronomy 14:3

Ye shall not eat [of] any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that [is] in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou [art] an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. Deuteronomy 14:21

Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. Deuteronomy 14:22

Notice, again the “tithe”, which is always the best, firstfruits, firstlings, never anything decayed, fermented, leavened, and so the “tithe” of “wine” is that which is firstripe of the vine and field:

And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always. Deuteronomy 14:23

And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; [or] if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: Deuteronomy 14:24

Then shalt thou turn [it] into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: Deuteronomy 14:25

This “tithe” money [which is the LORD's] from the sale of the fruits, grains, livestock, etc [if the place was too far, etc to travel with all of it] was to then be used to purchase, at the specific designation chosen by God, and there used in the offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings of the LORD, and then they could partake in the feast [not frat party] unto the LORD:

And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, Deuteronomy 14:26

The "strong drink" [should they purchase any] was never to be consumed by any of the people, but rather it was to be poured out upon the ground "unto the LORD" as He commands be done:

And the drink offering thereof [shall be] the fourth [part] of an hin for the one lamb: in the holy [place] shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD [for] a drink offering. Numbers 28:7 [See also further cases, which declare they were never to drink it also: Deuteronomy 29:6 and see again also Leviticus 10:9]

They ate nothing leavened in the Wilderness, and the Leaven represented sin.

Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 29:6

When the Priests [of which we all are, and we shall come to this in a bit moresoe] were doing the service of the LORD, they were especially not to drink alcohol, as Nadab and Abihu had done, lest we be destroyed, for God will destroy them which destroy their body temple [1 Corinthians 3:17]:

Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: Leviticus 10:9

And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; Leviticus 10:10

There were also restrictions of what could be offered unto God and what they themselves could eat [even as today]:

Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. Deuteronomy 14:3 [and the Blood was also to be poured upon the ground], yet both the ceremonially "unclean and the clean" persons could partake of the bountiful feast in eating that which was "clean" [roebuck/hart, etc as previously given by God]

This text of Deuteronomy 14:26 does not advocate drinking alcohol.

Yet some have said that, the tithe was consumed by the practitioner in the place where the Lord's name is”. Again, they have misunderstood and erred.

Looking at the context of passages again, let us consider the first part of the statement. What does the text say concerning this?:

Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. Deuteronomy 14:22

Notice that each of the items is the firstfruits/firstlings of the harvest or herds/flocks and for the Levites especially that which was "first ripe" [Numbers 18:12].

"Strong drink" and [fermented] wine” is not ever a "firstfruit" of the seed”, nor field”, nor herds/flocks, nor is it that which comes from treading out the presses [which would be pure fresh grape juice [new wine]], it is rather something that comes from the processes of time, distillation and fermentation/decay [Proverbs 23:31].

As we can see by the text, the "tithe" was to be of the "corn" [anything of the grain, representing the Bread of Life], "wine" [being the "fruit of the vine", "new wine", pure "blood of the grape" or known as pure juice, representing the pure blood of Christ Jesus, from the "press"; Genesis 40:9-11; Joel 3:13; Haggai 2:16 also that which was from the "tread[ing] out"; Nehemiah 13:15; Proverbs 3:10; Isaiah 16:10; Job 24:10-11; Micah 6:15] and "oil" [that which specifically came of the "increase of thy seed", a symbol of the Holy Spirit] and also of the "firstlings" of the "herds" and "flocks".

Anything of this
"seed" "tithe" was to specifically be of the "increase" "of the field" that cometh forth "year by year". This also rules out the "strong drink" and [fermented]wine” from that which they might "eat". The word "eat" [while it does/may denote consuming by the mouth/digestion] it also means to "consume by fire, burn up" [see Numbers 28]. Also, as was shown earlier, and according to the texts, the "strong drink" [which could be bought with the travel "tithe" money gained by the sale of the original "tithe" earlier, if the distance to the designated spot of the LORD was too far away for them to carry or take with them], once purchased, was to be poured out unto the LORD [Numbers 28:7].

Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season. Numbers 28:2

And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering. Numbers 28:3

The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even; Numbers 28:4

And a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a meat offering, mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil. Numbers 28:5

It is a continual burnt offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD. Numbers 28:6

And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink offering. Numbers 28:7

And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meat offering of the morning, and as the drink offering thereof, thou shalt offer it, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD. Numbers 28:8

And on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof: Numbers 28:9

This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering. Numbers 28:10

And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot; Numbers 28:11

And three tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one bullock; and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one ram; Numbers 28:12

And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD. Numbers 28:13

And their drink offerings shall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock, and the third part of an hin unto a ram, and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb: this is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year. Numbers 28:14

And one kid of the goats for a sin offering unto the LORD shall be offered, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering. Numbers 28:15

After this manner ye shall offer daily, throughout the seven days, the meat of the sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD: it shall be offered beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering. Numbers 28:24

Ye shall offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings. Numbers 28:31

Why? It was because God was teaching a lesson, as to the plan of Salvation & Redemption, involving Jesus Christ. Christ Jesus, though sinless, was made to be sin for us, that the wrath of God might be poured out upon Him [Romans 1:18; Matthew 27:45-46; Mark 15:33-34; Psalms 22:1].

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon. Genesis 35:14

And he burnt his burnt offering and his meat offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, upon the altar. 2 Kings 16:13

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. Psalms 22:14

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:12

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! John 1:36

And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering. Leviticus 16:9

Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: Leviticus 16:15

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10

Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Hebrews 13:12

But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:19

For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. John 6:55

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. John 19:34

We as Christians, even as the Jewish nation was, are called to be "Kings and Priests", "a Royal Priesthood", even an "Holy Nation", even the "temple" of the LORD, with even "Christ Jesus", Himself, being the Anointed "King of Kings" and Great "High Priest" over all:

And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. Exodus 19:6

Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Ezekiel 28:17

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:1 Peter 2:9

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Revelation 1:5

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Revelation 1:6

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. Revelation 5:10

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. Revelation 21:24

We are to be Holy, undefiled, sanctified, set apart from the world, and the things thereof, and separate from wickedness [Leviticus 11:44-45; 20:7,25; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Revelation 18:20]

Therefore, with this properly understood, as it was for our brothers and sisters of old, so it is also for us:

Alcohol is especially not for Kings, for they are to ever keep True Judgment in their heart:

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. Proverbs 31:3

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Proverbs 31:4

Did you not know that as a Child of God, a son of the LORD of LORDs, and KING of KING's, we are then "princes":

For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Hebrews 2:10

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:2

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:14

...again, "quantity" is not mentioned in the passage of proverbs, but simply the inherent "nature" itself, for it is a danger that it will cause the forgetting of God and His Laws, and it is that which "destroyeth" "kings", and it is "not" for them to drink [alcoholic] "wine", nor "string drink" [period], lest...

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. Proverbs 31:5

There are those which have drunken of the cup of Mystery Babylon [Revelation 14:8; 17:2,4] also, and they forget the Law of God, even as she.

Alcohol is especially not for Priests, for they are to be ever Holy [Holiness] unto the the Lord:

Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: Leviticus 10:9

And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; Leviticus 10:10

[Some will say I have taken this passage out of context for it only deals with not drinking when entered into the Sanctaury, but they do not know the basics of scripture [I do not merely say so, Paul himself says so; Hebrews 5:11-14], but rather if one will consider yet further the Book of Hebrews [where in Paul is quite clear], etc, it will be seen that I have placed it exactly within its proper context for Christians [for those things were written for our admonition, for ensamples [types] unto us], who are, even now supposed to be by faith, entered into the True Tabernacle of Heaven's work; Thus being that we are entered in with Him [Christ Jesus] by Faith, even now into the Most Holy in Heaven, the Anti-typical Day of Atonement; see Daniel; Hebrews and Revelation, Leviticus 16 and 23.  More detail may be said of this later.]

...the example of Nadab and Abihu [Leviticus 10:1-11; Numbers 3:4; 26:1; 1 Chroniclaes 24:2] are given as examples of what happens in transgression by drinking that which is forbidden and bringing not the Holy Fire of God, but their own "strange" fire of confusion [God is not the author of confusion – 1 Corinthians 14:33] before the LORD...therefore...

"...put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;" [Leviticus 10:10]

Those which place no such difference, but instead put darkness for light and bitter for sweet, will so likewise perish in the presence of the LORD.

Alcohol is especially not for the pregnant, and not for those to be filled with the Holy Spirit of God and whom are given a commission from God:

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou [art] barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Judges 13:3

Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean [thing]: Judges 13:4

As it is written:

And be not drunk [Gr: "intoxicated"] with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Ephesians 5:18 [see also Matthew 23:25, “cup” full of “excess”]

Again, notice the very nature of the alcoholic wine, it is intoxicating, and the root word for that is Toxic, and in it, that is its very nature, is "excess" [Gr: "profligacy", "rioting", an "abandoned" man, one that cannot be saved [Strong's Concordance]].  Notice it does not say to drink in excess, but that the wine is inherently "excess".   The true filling, is being instead filled with the Holy Spirit of God.

BTW, those who say they are "drunk" with the Holy Spirit, and need a Holy Ghost "bartender" so that they may act drunken, babel, cast themselves down, etc, have no idea what they are saying/doing when they do so.  Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit are "sober", uplifted and made to "stand" in Christ Jesus, and always in their right mind [perhaps more on this later if neccesary].

John the Baptist [like Samson was chosen], was given a commission, to Herald the 1st Advent of Jesus, and again notice the contrast of not drinking alcohol [medicated by evil spirits, they do not call liquor 'spirits' for nothing], with being filled instead with the Holy Spirit:

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. Luke 1:15

And so likewise, those who are part of the 3 Angels Messages of Revelation 14:6-12, are the Last Elijah's message this world will receive, for we are the Heralds of the 2nd Advent of Jesus...

Furthermore we see that that church in the wilderness [Acts 7:38] would eat no leaven [representative of sin] drink no wine no strong drink in the wilderness, and that was the type of us wandering in the world, seeking after the Promised Land above [Hebrews 3-4].

Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 29:6

Christ Jesus - The True and Pure Vine

Just as we are to abide in the True Vine, Christ Jesus, God from which all purity, holiness, blessings and goodness comes, and in Him there is only Life, and no corruption, no falseness, no poison, no confusion:

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. John 15:1

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. John 15:4

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:3

We, as Christians, are not to be drinkers of any alcohol, but we are instead to drink of that healthful and pure juice of the Grape, an even partake of the New Wine, being that excellent Doctrine of Jesus Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit:

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. Luke 1:15

We do not desire to be filled with unclean spirits, which comes of those who drink of the alcohol:

Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness. Ezekiel 9:11

Those which drank alcoholic wine and the strong drink were the very sons and "daughter/s of Belial" [1 Samuel 1:15-16], who were not worshippers of the true God, but were worshippers of falsehood, of that great erroneous religious system of Babylon:

And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. Daniel 1:5

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Daniel 1:8

Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand. Daniel 5:1

Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. Daniel 5:2

Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. Daniel 5:3

They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone. Daniel 5:4

And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: Revelation 17:4

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. Revelation 18:2

Know ye not that ye are to be Holy Vessels in the service of God, filled with the Holy Spirit and not as a vessel filled with dissipation, whose end is destruction?

And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel. 1 Samuel 21:5

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Psalms 2:9

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. Psalms 31:12

Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer. Proverbs 25:4

And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit. Isaiah 30:14

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Jeremiah 18:4

And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaketh a potter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall bury them in Tophet, till there be no place to bury. Jeremiah 19:11

Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not? Jeremiah 22:28

Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel. Jeremiah 25:34

Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure. Hosea 8:8

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Matthew 23:25

Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Matthew 23:26

But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. Matthew 25:4

And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. Luke 11:39

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: Acts 9:15

Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? Romans 9:21

What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: Romans 9:22

And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, Romans 9:23

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 2 Corinthians 4:7

That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 1 Thessalonians 4:4

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 2 Timothy 2:20

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 2 Timothy 2:21

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. Revelation 2:27

Therefore, if any knowingly continues to drink alcohol, even after all of this, and yet more still, then - Judgment is written against thee, even as it was against Belshazzar for all to see upon the walls, by the very light, against he which filled the vessels of God's house with alcohol, and in so doing was honouring not God, but idols/devils/ Therefore they like him will also be found weighed and wanting in this the very Judgment day of God which is now [Revelation 14:6-7]. Take heed, whomever ye be that think ye are wiser than God, to fill yourself with the wine of Babylon [literal & spiritual], for you may perish this very night even as Belshazzar, and your inheritance will be divided unto another, and your inheritance in the kingdom forever at its end:

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Corinthians 3:17

In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Daniel 5:5

Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another. Daniel 5:6

And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this; Daniel 5:22

But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified: Daniel 5:23 [Revelation 14:6-7, “give glory to him”]

Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written. Daniel 5:24

And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. Daniel 5:25

This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. Daniel 5:26

TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. Daniel 5:27

PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. Daniel 5:28

In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain. Daniel 5:30

Make no mistake, if ye continue, whomsoever ye be, ye will die the second death, from which there is no return.  Why will ye die?  Turn ye, turn ye....  for if ye continue to drink alcohol, ye will drink the wine of the wrath of God also... which is to be poured out without mixture - it will not be cut with water, but poured full strength... for you will have despised the Holy Jesus, the gift and son of the Father.

Will we be as simple ones like Moab?

Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed. Jeremiah 48:11

There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 48:38

What will ye be, a cup/vessel unto the LORD filled with all righteousness, holiness and goodness, being filled with the Holy Spirit, or will ye be a cup/vessel unto destruction, filled with all licentiousness, uncleanness, abomination and unclean spirits of devils?

For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes. Jeremiah 16:17

How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water? Job 15:16

Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; Isaiah 64:5

Therefore, the warning from Heaven is given to all, even in Love:

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 1 Peter 2:11

Those “fleshly lusts” speak of every single gratification of appetite or passion. This text is a clear warning against all narcotics and stimulants which war against the soul/being/person, see for yourself - http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/Lexicon/Lexicon.cfm?strongs=G1939&t=KJV

Christians are to be followers of Jesus Christ and should never drink the wine of dissipation/fermentation of Babylon. The Word of God has plainly warned us to stay away from it in many, many places, even giving us perfect examples of what happens to those who choose to disregard the wise counsel, and we shall look at some of them a little later, but let us now consider that true Vine – Jesus Christ, and his example.

JESUS – The Cup Of Blessing:

Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. Isaiah 65:8

So, that “new wine” which is "found in the cluster" [Isaiah 65:8], is the pure juice and “blood” of the grape, which yields “strength”, even all the strength of Christ Jesus [John 15:5; 2 Corinthians 12:9], treading the winepress alone [Isaiah 63:3], to give unto those who were without strength [Romans 5:6]:

Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape. Deuteronomy 32:14

Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. Joel 2:22

And this pure blood of the Grape, is meant for life, joy, rejoicing and gladness [Zechariah 10:7] as can be found at a wedding [John 2:1-11, 4:46] [which we will consider Cana, etc in a bit] or a blessed feast of God [Psalms 104:15; Ecclesiastes 9:7, etc]. They were symbols pointing unto Christ's own pure wedding and feast with His own Bride/people to come, as we shall see. It is also found as the very heart and symbol of the New and Everlasting Covenant [Hebrews 13:10], made in the midst of the True Passover [Matthew 26:17; Mark 14:1,12; Luke 22:1,7; 1 Corinthians 5:6-8]:

Matthew:

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; Matthew 26:27

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:28

But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. Matthew 26:29

Mark:

And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. Mark 14:23

And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. Mark 14:24

Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. Mark 14:25

Luke:

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: Luke 22:17

For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. Luke 22:18

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22:20

Paul:

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 1 Corinthians 11:25

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 1 Corinthians 11:26

Notice the words, over and over again, “new” and “blood” [1 John 5:7-8; 1 Peter 1:9; Revelation 1:5] and “fruit of the vine”. This wine of “the cup” was not fermented, but “pure” [1 John 3:3] and unleavened, the very holy “fruit” of the precious “vine” [Christ Jesus; John 15:1,5], even as God showed to Moses for the Passover and feast to follow, that no leaven, no fermentation, was to be in all the quarters at all [see also – Exodus 12:3-20,34,39; 13:3-7; 23:18; 34:18,24-25; Leviticus 2:11; 6:14-17; 10:12; 23:5-6; Numbers 9:11; 28:17; Deuteronomy 16:1-8; 2 Chronicles 8:13; 35:17; Ezra 6:20; Ezekiel 45:21; Acts 12:3; 20:6]:

Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning. Exodus 34:25

No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made by fire. Leviticus 2:11

Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee: Deuteronomy 16:5 [see Hebrews 13:12]

For is it not written, that even a “little leaven” leavens the whole?:

Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 1 Corinthians 5:6

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. Galatians 5:9

Therefore:

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 1 Corinthians 5:7

Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Corinthians 5:8

For the wicked, are full of 'leaven and sourness', even called the “cruel man” [check it out - http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/Lexicon/Lexicon.cfm?strongs=H2556&t=KJV ]:

Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. Psalms 71:4

For us, Christ Jesus is the unleavened bread of life [Exodus 16:15,31,33,35; Numbers 11:6-7,9; Deuteronomy 8:3,16; Joshua 5:12; Psalms 78:24; John 6:33,35,48-49,51,58; Hebrews 9:4; Revelation 2:17, etc] and He is our incorruptible inheritance, even as the manna was uncorrupted upon the 7th Day the Sabbath of the LORD thy God and preserved forever and his blood holy, pure, undefiled, uncorrupted:

ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Psalms 119:1 [Christ Jesus is the Way, undefiled]

For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Hebrews 7:26

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 1 Peter 1:4 [Christ Jesus, our inheritance, is reserved in Heaven, even as the Manna laid up in the golden pot, before the Throne of God]

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 Peter 1:23 [Christ Jesus is the seed]

Do ye not know that to be fermented with that corrupt leaven of the cup of devils, is to be a Pharisee and Sadducee filled with all “excess”, uncleanness and “iniquity”, even an hypocrite, and that “woe” is pronounced upon them, called “serpents” [Proverbs 23:32]?

Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Matthew 16:6

How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Matthew 16:11

Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Matthew 16:12

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Matthew 23:27

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Matthew 23:28

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, Matthew 23:29

And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Matthew 23:30

Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Matthew 23:31

Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Matthew 23:32

Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Matthew 23:33

And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. Mark 8:15

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Luke 12:1

They which drink alcohol, will be blind even as they, and this no small danger, for the blind will fall into a ditch, and the spiritual ditch is the very Whore of Babylon – Rome, whose wine is intoxicating [in both actually Golden cup and in her doctrine], and they will do the will of Rome, and teach their doctrines and receive of their mark:

Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? Matthew 15:12

But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Matthew 15:13

Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Matthew 15:14

And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? Luke 6:39

For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit. Proverbs 23:27

She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men. Proverbs 23:28

Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? Proverbs 23:29 [babbling, Babylon]

They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Proverbs 23:30

Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. Proverbs 23:31

At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Proverbs 23:32

Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. Proverbs 23:33

Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. Proverbs 23:34

They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again. Proverbs 23:35

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: Revelation 17:1

With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. Revelation 17:2

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. Revelation 17:3

And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: Revelation 17:4

And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Revelation 17:5

Did you notice that the Great Whore has harlot daughters, that teach as she does, and are like her in doctrines of traditions and practices, in hypocrisy and blasphemies? Beware of the wine which she has in her cup, for that which she giveth, she will receive double from the LORD [Revelation 18:6]:

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. 1 Corinthians 10:21

Take the Cup of Salvation from the hand of the Lord, and pass from the cup of sin and iniquity from the hand of the other:

I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. Psalms 116:13

For as it is written, is not this cup, the cup which we bless, unfermented, declaring the death of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ, He who loved and died for us, because of sin and transgression of His Holy Law, the perfect transcript of His very character:

Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. Isaiah 65:8

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 1 Corinthians 10:16

And what communion of the righteous blood of Christ hath with the unfruitful works of darkness and sin, as the rebellion of dissipation, confusion and Babylon?:

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14

There can be none, and in the New Heaven and the New Earth, wherein Christ Jesus will drink again of the blessed “new” fruit of the vine with us, we shall drink of the peaceable fruit:

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Hebrews 12:11

And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. Isaiah 65:21

They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. Isaiah 65:22

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. Revelation 21:27

For those which decide to cling to their sins, their drinking alcohol and other things and not turn though probationary time still lingers yet, and the door of God's mercy be not yet shut, if they refuse, they will drink of another cup still beyond the wine of Babylon, for they will even drink of the wine of the Wrath of God, for they will have despised the the gift and death of the Son:

For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. Psalms 75:8

Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Isaiah 63:1

Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? Isaiah 63:2

I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. Isaiah 63:3

For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. Isaiah 63:4

And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. Isaiah 63:5

And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth. Isaiah 63:3

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it. Jeremiah 25:15

Then took I the cup at the LORD'S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me: Jeremiah 25:17

And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. Jeremiah 25:28

For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it. Jeremiah 49:12

Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. Jeremiah 51:7

Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked. Lamentations 4:21

Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand. Ezekiel 23:31

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister's cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much. Ezekiel 23:32

Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria. Ezekiel 23:33

Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD'S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory. Habakkuk 2:16

And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. Revelation 14:7

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Revelation 14:10

And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. Revelation 14:18

And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. Revelation 14:19

And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs. Revelation 14:20

And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. Revelation 16:19

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. Revelation 18:6

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. Revelation 19:15

O, who would rather not turn from their iniquity of alcohol and instead taste and see that the LORD is Good now while there is still time, still the almighty power of His amazing grace to overcome:

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalms 34:8

The Wedding At Cana - Jesus And The Miracle Of Water To Wine

What is the example of Christ Jesus? What of the wedding of Cana, that Jesus attended? What was that wine which He Himself had made?

And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: John 2:1

And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. John 2:2

And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. John 2:3

And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. John 2:6

Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. John 2:7

When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew; ) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, John 2:9

And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: [but] thou hast kept the good wine until now. John 2:10

This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. John 2:11

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. John 4:46

Did not the "governor of the feast" declare that the "wine" that Jesus made was the "best" by saying "...Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: [but] thou hast kept the good wine until now.", and does not this mean it was of perfect alcoholic content, and perfectly 'aged'?  Those are two separate questions, of which the answer to the First is "Yes, it was the best 'wine'." and the answer to the Second is "No, it had nothing to do with an 'aged' alcholic 'wine'."  What do the scriptures mean then?  Consider that the preservation methods of that time period were not perfect, and any "wine" [Grape Juice] that was held for long periods of time would lose its flavor and by syrupy and have to have water added to make it more palatable, and therefore, in any given celebration, that which was usually done, is to serve the most freshest juice of the grape at the beginning, anything that had been closer to the most recent harvest, and afterwards they would serve that which was sitting longer in preservation.  However, Jesus instead, being the Creator Himself, turns the water, into the perfect juice of the grape, as if it were freshly harvested [for He doth not need to first plant a seed and wait until it grows, for like Adam, He can bring it to full and perfect unblemished fruition instantly, for He speaks and it is so].  It was the very symbol and perfect gift of His own life and doctrine, for His Bride.  People that read backwards into the text their own preconceived ideas about what the 'best wine [alcoholic]', they [incorrectly] think, is today, being some 'aged' bottle of corruption and dissipation, make a serious error in so doing.  Additionally, the word for "good", is the from Greek "Kalos", meaning "honourable, noble, praiseworthy, morally good, etc" [Strong's Concordance]

Are we to [wrongly] suppose that Christ Jesus, made 90-150 gallons of alcohol to consume at a wedding feast, a place of celebration, blessing, rejoicing and joy, being not one of drunkeness, cursing, licentiousness and revelry?

Notice that the event was a Wedding. Now in the Bible, a Wedding was not a place for getting intoxicated, but rather was a joyous celebration and new life together.

This
[marriage] event is a symbol of the very pure Wedding of Christ Jesus to His own Church Bride, in fact the entire Second Advent is in the context of a Wedding, and even utilizes that language in numerous places.

Jesus, called the
Bridegroom” by John the Baptist, comes to see His Betrothed [Church], then after many events, He ascends and goes to prepare a place” for her” [He ascends to Heaven], just as the Bridegroom would go back to the Father's house [where there are many Mansions] and prepare one of the rooms [a place in New Jerusalem], and would then after a time when asll is ready, and in the timing of the Father, He would then come again” and receive” “her” unto himself in the Wedding [Jesus Second Advent].

Notice, that where it was asked for wine in the Gospels at the Wedding of Cana,
the wedding had already taken place.  This then would point to the time when we will actually be with Jesus Christ.  Jesus then goes to where there are six” waterpots of stone which contained two or three firkins apiece”. That is actually a little less than 9 English Gallons or 40 Litres for each Firkin, est. That is a tremendous amount of “wine”, and if any of that were actually fermented [alcoholic], then Jesus just advocated liscentiousness, dissipation and revelry, which of course would be sin - for remember they had already consumed all of the previous amount, but since it was the juice of the Grape, given for Celebration, it was the perfect gift, and symbol and represtnation of His own selflessness, His own Blood, and His own Doctrine.

Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to [him], and makest [him] drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness! Habakkuk 2:5

"Thou art filled with shame for glory..." [Habakkuk 2:6;p]

Jesus is the pure vine [John 15:5], and so then He is the 7th Jar, that vessel of the pure, which eternally pours forth and from which all blessings flow, and so He pours into the 6 other empty jars. His “doctrine” is Pure and His “Wine” is pure, just as He is "holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens" [Hebrews 7:26], unfermented, and fills us, bringing great joy.

For in Scripture, wine” is a symbol for doctrine”, whether Pure or Corrupted, and fermented "wine" always represented sin, apostacy, corruption, cursing, and the unfermented [pure juice of the grape, "...thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape." Deuteronomy 32:14, see also Genesis 49:11] representing joy, life, newness, blessing.

Fermented grape [alcoholic content], represented sin, wickedness, rebellion, and corrupted doctrines:

Babylon [hath been] a golden cup in the LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. Jeremiah 51:7

Notice that fermented wine causes madness and drunkeness, and symbolizes false doctrines and hypocrisy which lead to false ideologies, practices and ways.

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Revelation 14:8

JESUS also spoke of the corrupt spiritual Leaven [fermentation]:

Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Matthew 16:6

Then understood they how that he bade [them] not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Matthew 16:12

And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and [of] the leaven of Herod. Mark 8:15

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Luke 12:1
