It doesn't matter if we are okay with Thanksgiving.

What matters is what God is okay with.

Is there some reason why God wouldn't be? :13:

I used to love Groundhog Day......now I am not so sure.....I could be accused of setting up Punxsutawney Phil as a false idol.....”Thou shalt have no fun” is somewhere in the Bible , probably somewhere in the back...

Well I can't find anything in the Bible that says you can't eat turkey or pumpkin pie.  So it looks like we are okay on this one. ??

Isn't Thanksgiving a USA only food feast?

Time  to feed the poor and  hungry their once a year cranberry sauce.  and give them a raw turkey they have no place to cook. Does anyone  eat Cranberry sauce except for  Thanksgiving?

Time for Black Friday and internet sales Monday.

Yea Thanksgiving! No I can't eat the cornbread, nor any of that peanut flavored stuff, nor anything with milk in it, nor....

Plus turkey does make me sleepy and gives me gas, a bad combination.

But I'm with you, I love Thanksgiving a four day  holiday every year, whooie! Oh wait, I'm retired now what do I care?

...............:vacuum: and then who cleans up?

Seriously, we do give God thanks that day as everyday.

The best of local Thanksgiving tradition here at the subtropics of the Gulf of Mexico Suncoast of Florida is to reserve dinner at the fine restaurant on the beach here with it's  endless  buffet banquet with absolutely every possible traditional food plus so much king crab leg and pastries. We gather about 24 of us, eat till we pop, walk the beach, say our goodbyes and no one ever ever has to clean a thing! Well except for all the resort hotel restaurant workers, but they are not USA Americans,  they don't mind working long hours on Thanks Giving, they actually like it.

What I remember is going to mamaw's little house in Kentucky and all my cousins, along with aunts and uncles.  No one ever got a motel room back then. So most of us stayed at mamaw's house which only had 2 bedrooms. So we did what you have to do. All of us cousins would get in one bed and spend most of the night telling funny stories , laughing too loud and waking up the adults. There would be someone sleeping on the sofa and three or four people sleeping on the floor. We would have turkey, pies, mash  potatoes, green beans and so much more. There was never enough chairs at the table so the kids had to sit on the floor. The older adults got to sit at the table. Then the younger adults took a set in the living room where ever they could find one. If it was warm enough, we would eat outside. Not a lot of room but so much food. If someone unexpected showed up, even if they were not family. They were expected to eat. If they refused it was consider rude. I think it is a southern thing.  They had to at less have a cup of coffee or a slice of pie.  It was the best time of my life. ?
