Genesis say that after sinning, Adam and Eve were ashamed to be without clothes. That would explain why we wear clothing.

But, why the native american (specially in south america) were ok with being naked, why they didn't have shame of their bodies if they too are descendant of Adam and Eve?

why the native american were "blind" to nakedness?

This is in Genesis 3:7-11

"Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LordGod among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

That is a stereotype. Native american cultures wore more clothes than hollywood depicted.

Beyond that why be concerned at the clothing? Any group of unbelievers is going to do things that God would not approve of.

What's always more important than any apparent physical meaning is the spiritual or theological meaning. God provided garments for Adam and Eve, they were naked. Doing a word study on nakedness and clothing, garments shows the importance of Gods provision, the garment of salvation, is to His people.

The demoniac was naked but after a confrontation with our Lord he was sitting at Jesus' feet 'clothed' and in his right mind. Jude in his epistle speaks of hating the garment even spotted with the flesh, After Lazarus was raised from the dead Jesus told them to take off his dead man clothes, discipleship. And most concerning for our day is the fact that Laodicea was naked. Before Moses brought out the people to the mount of God they had to wash their garments, it was repeated in the instructions making it emphatic.

I believe it was Isaiah and Micah that were ask at some point to prophecy naked, not sure if that was complete nakedness but the point or message to the Jews was they were no longer under Gods provision or covering.

The nakedness of Adam and Eve goes way beyond a physical meaning. They knew about sin before the fall but they didn't know sin in the experiential sense. They didn't know sin the way no one should know what it is like being with someone elses marriage partner. When people commit adultery, especially the first time, is a taste of what they felt.

Adam and Eve experienced sin for the first time in their life.

We are born into it.

Where does it say nudity is a sin?

Regardless aboriginal people are as varied as other cultures, and dress varied from tribe to tribe. The rule of thumb historically is the hotter the country, the less the inhabitants wear.

The question is less spiritual than it is physical.   Many people who live in tropical zones are ok with bare coverings or none at all.   The reason is that its so terribly hot and humid.   Clothing is not an effective barrier against the elements.

On the other hand, take a look at European or Arabian peoples.   The former live in cold climates.   It stands to reason that one would not be very comfortable running around in a breach-cloth.   In Arabia the wind and sand and heat are so oppressive that one needs protection against every aspect of the elements.  Muslims continue to dress for the desert even when they live in European nations where the climate is decidedly different.  They make fun of European dress in Arabia, but seem to think its ok to wear traditional Arab dress everywhere in the world.

I live in Central Florida.   The Seminole tribe has inhabited this region for a long time and they did so with little or no clothing.   In other states of the country Boy Scouts like to dress up in the traditional garb of the Native Americans of their region.   They can't do that in Florida because it would violate a lot of laws regarding child porn and public indecency.

The question of nakedness in the Bible can be interpreted spiritually in that one is devoid of covering before God.  He sees all our blemishes.   It has nothing to do with the quality or type of clothing we wear to worship services.

That's me, hollering from the choir loft...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
