Through repentance and confession of our sins we are able to psychologically release ourselves from those sins. And only then will we open our hearts to Gods love. Otherwise we are holding it shut with all our might.

Reminds me of this description of "pride". Which is what surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, is really about...........letting go of ourselves/pride.

Job 41

14 Who can open the doors of his face, With his terrible teeth all around? 15 His rows of scales are his pride, Shut up tightly as with a seal; 16 One is so near another That no air can come between them; 17 They are joined one to another, They stick together and cannot be parted. 18 His sneezings flash forth light, And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. 19 Out of his mouth go burning lights; Sparks of fire shoot out. 20 Smoke goes out of his nostrils, As from a boiling pot and burning rushes. 21 His breath kindles coals, And a flame goes out of his mouth. 22 Strength dwells in his neck, And sorrow dances before him. 23 The folds of his flesh are joined together; They are firm on him and cannot be moved. 24 His heart is as hard as stone, Even as hard as the lower millstone. 25 When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid; Because of his crashings they are beside F64 themselves. 26 Though the sword reaches him, it cannot avail; Nor does spear, dart, or javelin. 27 He regards iron as straw, And bronze as rotten wood. 28 The arrow cannot make him flee; Slingstones become like stubble to him. 29 Darts are regarded as straw; He laughs at the threat of javelins. 30 His undersides are like sharp potsherds; He spreads pointed marks in the mire. 31 He makes the deep boil like a pot; He makes the sea like a pot of ointment. 32 He leaves a shining wake behind him; One would think the deep had white hair. 33 On earth there is nothing like him, Which is made without fear. 34 He beholds every high thing; He is king over all the children of pride."

If we refuse to open our mouth and call out to the Lord, because of His Sovereignty and His Lordship, we are destined for destruction. This is the ultimate recompense for pride.

Job 36:9 Then He tells them their work and their transgressions-- That they have acted defiantly. 10 He also opens their ear to instruction, And commands that they turn from iniquity. 11 If they obey and serve Him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures. 12 But if they do not obey, They shall perish by the sword, And they shall die without knowledge. 13 "But the hypocrites in heart store up wrath; They do not cry for help when He binds them. 14 They die in youth, And their life ends among the perverted persons.

Psalm 107 is FULL of those who cried out to the Lord in their trouble. But those who will not "open their mouths", are destined for destruction.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Ooooh oooh I forgot the best part! Look at this. Look at this.

For those of us that have been laid bare before God and asked for his forgiveness, fully expecting the condemnation just like our brethren man has condemned us over and over again on earth. But you know what he says, He says

By the lack of response and the very few that even looked at this thread, I question if this community of believers believes that repentance of our sins is even a necessary part of Gods plan and salvation. Say the words, believe in Jesus and go to heaven, end of message?????

A little surprised,

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I can say that it's not for the lack of repentance on my part.

I have things that I struggle with time and time again, I ask God to remove these sins from my life but they seem to always return, sometimes on the same day. Am I really repenting? Do I have the actual meaning of repenting in my heart? Am I really saved? I am not an motional person so I have a very difficult time approaching God with passion. Am I spiritually dead? Did I commit the unpardonable sin a long time ago and am now paying the price? I know I want to live a righteous life and have the Lord say "well done" to me , but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen. I keep confessing my sins and asking to be cleansed but ,ooops, there I go again. I know it's not just me. I've seen lots of people on these boards alone , that think they are righteous but they continue to spew poisonous, hateful, prejudice, prideful remarks on a regular basis. Whether they repent or not I do not know. What I do know is that repentance doesn't always work as a cleaning agent. :P

we will find who is and who is not actually born again, those who have repented of their sins, and have taken the Lord as their Savior, and have turned from their old ways, no matter what they spew out of their mouths, the truth will be known....

they will find that they have nothing in the Kingdom unless they do repent...

not just doing pennance for their sins, but repenting of them....

there will be many that are left behind at the time of the Rapture of the Church, and they will be wondering what happened...

out of the many that are left, some will realize that they goofed and they will then repent and live for Christ during the Tribulation.

there will be the others that are left, they will be rebelling against Christ, blaming Christ for them being left behind.... they will do what they can to turn in those that have repented.

as was mentioned above, those that truely repent, are saved....

as it is wrritten, when we have Christ, we become a new creation....

this means that we are putting away the things or our previous life and life style...

being saved does not give us unlimited license to sin,

it does not give us the right to continue on in the same life style we use to live in,

and nothing we can do will ever cleanse us of our sins, except repenting and taking Christ as our Savior....

yes, there are many wolves in sheeps clothing in the Church, and yes there are many that are going to be separated from the wheat....

Whether they repent or not I do not know. What I do know is that repentance doesn't always work as a cleaning agent.

1. Repentance means being sorry enough to quit. Repentance begins by making a quality decision to live for God. It also involves sacrifice. If you have anything in your life that influences you, or entices you away from Christ you need to end its power over your life. Sometimes it means telling our friends and family that we are going to serve the Lord. We love them, but we love Jesus and we are goingn to follow him.

2. Repentance is not a "cleaning agent." It is not designed that way. Repentance is a 180% reversal. It makes the cleaning agent (the blood of Jesus) able to cleanse your conscience of all unrighteousness. When you remove those things that hinder your walk with Christ, you need to replace them with influences and associations that help you. It means taking your family to a good church, and getting involved with other Christians, in fellowship and ministry. It means enveloping your life with the Word of God and prayer.

As a side note, I play Bible CDs in my car and at home. I also play lots of praise and worship music. I try to keep an atmosphere of praise in my home since it says that God inhabits the praises of His people. When your life is full of Godly influences, you will see it begin to change your life. It never ceases to amaze me to see how much our environment affects our lives, especially where our walk with the Lord is concerned.

The more you center your life around the Jesus and His Word, the more you build up your defenses against the wiles of the enemy. It is a lot easier to keep sin out of your life if you don't let it in, in the first place. If you are really concerned about living for the Lord then make Him the center of your life.

3. Don't worry if you have committed the unpardonable sin. If you have to ask, you didn't. Besides, those who have done that, don't care.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
