My Mother's Legacy First mother's Day without my mom Is rather sad and hard This year I can not call her up Or even send a card There's so much love inside of me I feel I must address it And so for me to write a poem Is one way to express it My mother was the kindest soul She loved to give and share So sensitive to everyone And always there with prayer She shone so bright for Jesus In the things she'd do and say Reflecting Him to others In a clear and gentle way Whenever I was sick or down Or simply felt alone She always had the words I'd need And such a tender tone Her faith was so enduring It would rise above my fear Her voice, her laugh, her wisdom Are the memories I hold dear Her heart for Christ, her love for me and all our family... These things I'll always treasure They're my mother's legacy 1 2

The mother of misha is dearly loved and in peace she now is at rest and now her son and daughter BY CHRIST shall do our best to fight the good fight of faith as dear mama once did Until our dear LORD does to our HOME one day shall us , HE BID . SO onward we go In the LIGHT of the LORD His word gives us strength and tis our Sword . We shall carry on in HIM as our mama has done And our end shall be GOOD for the VICTORY our LORD has done won . 1

Or they had a very abusive mom? or their mom is an addict or in prison? How do you think they feel on Mother's Day? 1

It is a good reminder for those of us who were blessed with loving moms to be grateful and pray for those who have not. I feel so sad for people who have never known the warmth of a mother's love. It must be awful to go through this holiday in those situations. I appreciate you sharing that even after many years (the mid 1970's) of your mom being gone, you still think about her. 1

Our dear mum`s have gone to be with the Lord, and we so appreciate their godly example to us. Your poem says it all, blessings, Marilyn. 1

It is a good thing to honor them and celebrate their lives. 14 minutes ago, Marilyn C said: I can still see my dear mother each morning with her well worn bible out reading her daily portion of God`s wonderful word. Thanks for sharing your precious memories. I can relate. One of the first recollections I have of being a child is my mom faithfully reading her bible. It left an indelible impression on my young mind and led to me doing the same. Though church played a part in me hearing the gospel it was really more my observing how much the scriptures meant to Mama. I followed in her footsteps by reading them for myself. In those pages it was revealed to me that I was a sinner and that Jesus Christ alone could save me. God drew me to Himself and the rest as they say, is history. Or in this case, His story. Praise the Lord! 1

I have heard and seen many cases where the bond between mothers and their children remains somehow despite challenging situations in life. It has to do with the way God made us.
