WalMart joins in gay agenda

I agree that homosexuals want to change public opinion about their sin being "normal;" even genetic.  This is the goal of the so-called "gay agenda."  I also agree that proponents of the "gay agenda" are actively trying to change the public's perceptions of traditional institutions, and are also trying to change even the definitions of those insitutions (Such as "family" and "marriage," for example).  However, I do not agree with the idea that homosexuals should not be considered as equals when it comes to basic rights, such as the ability to form resource groups for example.

Would you invite a homosexual into your church?  Would you sit in the same pew with a gay person?  Would you sit next to a gay person?  After the service, would you invite that person to your home to share a meal with them?  Would you take their phone number down afterward and promise to call on them socially?  If so, then you should strongly re-think the kind of verbage that you use when it comes to these kinds of issues.

Homosexual persons are first and foremost people.  They are God's creation, just like you and me. As such they are entitled to the same basic human rights that you and I enjoy.  So while we're trying to turn over every rock looking for those dastardly homosexual activists, let's remember that they are human too.  They deserve to be treated equally.

After all, how would you have felt if, before you received the Lord, some Christian refused to talk to you because of your manner of life, or "lifestyle?"  I was an atheist, for goodness sake - a hater of God and all of God's people.  Were it not for the grace of one woman I would not be typing here today.

Think about it.

This doesn't look like special to me it looks like equal rights under the law of the country.

HST, they are asking to be recognized as legit and on the same level as the rest of us - being "married", having rights to "spousal benefits" etc.  And they don't stop there. They don't only want that, they want to be embraced and applauded and want to hear from the rest of the population that it is perfectly normal to be homosexual, and for society to recognize that they are "born that way". They now are pushing for legislation that will make it illegal to speak that homosexuality is wrong - that will be "hate speech", if they have their way - including quoting Scripture that it is wrong. Yes, they most certainly want legislation created expressly for them. Sorry if it offends you, but that is wrong. Once society officially puts it's stamp of approval on homosexuality, can we expect nothing less than total destruction from a just God who has declared that it is an abomination? The same laws that protect you and me from crime also apply to anyone who is a homosexual. No need for any "special" laws due to their "special" circumstances.

Biscuit - I have never been able to understand it when people claim with disparity that "WalMart runs out 'Mom and Pop' businesses". If you read the biography of Sam Walton, you'll see that he most certainly was a 'Mom and Pop business'. Yes, I understand that the company has gone in directions that would have him rolling over in his grave, but  his ingenious brought WalMart to what it is today and every other entrepeneur (sp?) in America has the same opportunity for hard work that Sam Walton had and took advantage of.

WIP, your first paragraph says it better than I could. I guess I have lost too many brain cells. It has already become some type of crime in many European countries to speak against homosexuality. I recently read where someone was even jailed (a pastor I think) for speaking against homosexuality. I will try to find that story. I am afraid the Supreme Court will eventually rule to make gay marriage legal and will also make it a crime to speak against homosexuality. We will then be unlike Sodom and I feel God will lift His protective hand from our country. I don't think a country that is OK with Sodomites and baby killers can expect God's favor.

You are also right in that Sam Walton would turn over in his grave. He was a good man, and I don't think this is what he intended. Yes, hard work should pay off. I just hate to see these corporate monsters all over the place. It's kind of sad to see the old nickle & dime stores shutting down. And the roadside stores where you could pop the cap off a soda pop and drink it on a bench in front of the store. I guess those days are gone. Anyway, it's good to see that someone shares my views (about homosexuality). A pastor once gave me good advice which I have not forgotten. He said we need to love the person and hate the sin. HST, you're right. That was a poor choice of words and I should have elaborated. Of course, they should be regarded as human beings who have the same basic constitutional rights as you and I. I agree with Ovedya and you on that. What I meant was they are asking to be recognized as legit and on the same level as the rest of us in regards to spousal benefits etc.

Sorry for the poor choice of words and confusion. Again, I believe they are creations of God, same as you and I are, and worthy of His love. In that regard, they are "on the same level as us".

And, no, "spousal" benefits are not equal rights under the law for them. Homosexuality is still illegal (or, sodomy is) and their "marriages" are not recognized.

Well that's not entirely true. Homosexuality is not illegal and On 6-26-03 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that sodomy laws are unconstitutional. This decision will prevent these laws from being enforced only when they apply to private consensual sex between legal adults. Many states still have sodomy laws on their books. They must still be repealed by their state legislatures.

I guess it makes no nevermind, as sodomy laws were never enforced anyway. What better way to encourage something than to declare it wrong...........and then turn your back while it goes on? So typical.

Makes little difference to me, as God spoke on it long ago, so man's law or lack thereof doesn't hold any weight with me anyway.
