A Timely Exhortation

[Last Daze]

An excellent exhortation and especially so for these last days in which we live . . .

• Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.  Hebrews 12:1-3

The exhortation in the OP is especially relevant for us here today because:

• But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power.  2 Timothy 3:1-5a

The last days will see an uptick in ungodliness because of the increased prevalence of lies and deception.  It's a battle of truth vs. lies and only those who make a practice of walking in the light of truth will have the spiritual discernment and strength to endure.

Not only disobedient to parents some rebellious grown up children  also spit at parents and threat with knife to chop off their parents if their request for cars, money, motorcycle etc are not provided. Some even beat.

A far relative of mine lost 3 shops of bankruptcy squeezed by his rebellious son and the whole of his life and his wife was a horror, the couple died of heart attacks due to the cruel son, this son open a brothel now, he used to spent his parents' money for the brothel.

As the darkness of deception encroaches, we need to take care to not be deceived:

• Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.  1 Corinthians 6:9-10
• Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.  1 Corinthians 15:33-34
• Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.  So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.  Galatians 6:7-10
• But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.  Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.  Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.  James 1:14-17

Deception always leads to sin.  Truth leads to righteousness.
