hey guys, im new here so bear with me

this is a tricky subject and is being debated elsewhere on this forum, but i cant read through several pages of long winded debate on its own, so i hope people dont mind me starting up a fresh one

i would just like to see what people think, i say yes and no! i am 17, i am a student, i am a follower of christ, and i am also gay

i dont need a faith healing, i have prayed with God and i am happy that he is with me at this time and am happy that i am striving to live a moral lifestyle

what do people have to say to that, im not trying to start up a heated debate, but id just like to know what peopel think

please dont twist the fact that im asking what people think about it to mean i am insicure in my decision, im just generally interested in what people think about it

i would really love to clear up a lot of stuff aswell, there have been a few things ive picked up on in other threads that i really dont like/agree with - but i will answer them as/when they crop up in this thread

i plan to be open and honest on this thread, i am happy to answer questions, i am happy to reply to comments,

HOWEVER

i agree that the Bible is fundermental to our faith, but when people use Bible quotes can they please explain the referance to the context of the discussion, i would greatly appreciate that

God Bless

Dear mike,

If you don't mind, I would like to ask you a question.........Do you know what the Scriptures say about men having sex with other men? I'm being serious, because if you are not familiar with what the Word says specifically about it, I will tell you. If you already know the passages to which I am referring, then you do not need to take this up with me, you need to go back and examine the Scriptures again, because it is the Word of God, by which you will be measured as a Christ follower or not. To be a follower of Christ, means that you believe His Word, because.............Rev. 19:13

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

If you already know what the Word says, then you do not need for me to tell you again. I am not above His Word, to be able to persuade you.

In His Love,

Suzanne

hey guys

i can assure you that i have read all the scriptures, but i have come to peace with God in my life

you probably think that im some immature teenage boy whos hung up on his hormones, but i can only say that i assure that is not the case

i have looked at all the bits of scripture relating to it, and found that everything in there is sin, but i have to say that i am not feeling downtrodden with sin, i love God and i know that god loves me. God made me how i am, and if God wants me in a loving hetrosexual relationship then god will fidn me a woman i can fall in love with, but if i find a man i can fall in love with, then i feel that God will bless that relationship providing i dont loose focus on him and on christ

our god is a god of love, and he will not turn his back on me no matter what i do - that is not to be twisted to say i have a 'get out of jail free' card, but so long as i dont loose focus on God i will be saved

God bless

xXx

Mike,

Yes, God is a God of love. However, that does not negate his righteousness. If God says that something is wrong, then it's wrong.

Let me ask you this: If a pedophile walked up to you and said that he felt at peace with God being as such, would you believe him? Do you believe that a righteous God would allow that man to continue in his sin and "bless" him?

Hi Mike, and welcome to worthyland. You seem to be between a rock and a hard place.Being a follower doesn't necessarily mean you qualify for salvation. You have to be obedient to His word and deny yourself of your fleshly desires and repent of them. And that's only for starters. It's all in the word as Suzanne explained, and you can't chande the word to suit your own agenda.

that's my take anyway.

I, too hope you find what you are looking for,

eric.

Mike,

The Holy Bible says plain as ever that homosexuality is evil God's eyes. Here are some verses:

Romans 1:24-27

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

9Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites [that is catamites], 10nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Mark 10:1-10

1 Then He arose from there and came to the region of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes gathered to Him again, and as He was accustomed, He taught them again.

2The Pharisees came and asked Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" testing Him.

3And He answered and said to them, "What did Moses command you?"

4They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to dismiss her."

5And Jesus answered and said to them, "Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6But from the beginning of the creation, God "made them male and female.' 7"For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8and the two shall become one flesh'; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."

10In the house His disciples also asked Him again about the same matter. 11So He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. 12And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery."

Jesus Christ is saying that God made marraige to be between ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN.

When God destroyed Som and Gomorrah, one of the reasons God did it is because they pratice homosexuality.

This is Lot's encouter with the men of Sodom when the two angels came to visit him.

4Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. 5And they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally."

6So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him, 7and said, "Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly! 8See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof."

9And they said, "Stand back!" Then they said, "This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them." So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door. 10But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door. 11And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.

When they were saying about knowing them carnally they wanted to practice homosexuality with the angels but the men of Sodom thought the angels were men!

God judge Sodom and Gomorrah beacause of this and many other ungodly deeds.

Many people think the remains of Sodom and Gomorrah are buried under the Dead Sea. But the true remains of Sodom and Gommorah are near the Dead Sea.

Here's a link about it:

http://www.anchorstone.com/content/view/178/52/

The word sodomy came from Sodom because of their homosexuality.

Listen to what God's Word says not what you believe.

Mike,

I don't think you will find the help you are looking for here. You need to look into your heart and you'll know your path. your life and salvation are only between you and god. By coming out here you have only open yourself up to ridicule and distaste. :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
