She was a virgin when she got married and she was a Christian singer growing up, her father a pastor and she claims to be very religious.

they (Simpson Father type) are dragging my Lord's name through the mud and providing the world with a perfect excuse not to seek. They bring shame and disgust on us all.

Don't misunderstand me, WIP. I don't know enough about the Simpson family to have much of an opinion about them, in particular. I just think it's silly to be shocked when this kind of thing happens.

I wouldn't blame her so much as I would blame her father. Afterall, he is the one who encouraged her and her sister to do all these things. Likewise, this is the same man who was going to teach at a college and two weeks prior to classes decided to up and leave to help Jessica with her songs. This, obviously, left the college in a bind...how do you place 200 students in a different class when they've already paid for the canceled one?

I agree that her father bears most of the blame, but she's an adult now ...so she has to take responsibility now too.

Constant, I watched a bio on Jessica Simpson about a year ago on VH1 and here is what the summary was.

When Jessica was a girl she was having a hard time "making it" in the Christian music scene due to her large chest. She tried "dressing down" to conceal the endowment, but to no avail.

So, she decided to get into the worldly music scene. Success at any cost, I guess.

To see her now clearly shows the fruit of her decision. Based upon the fruit, I would guess that Jessica's walk with the Lord isn't what it used to be.

If she hadn't been scorned for being well endowed, she may not have had to sell out to make money at her craft. It's too bad there's so many christians that will abandon their own just because you don't fit into the mold. It wasn't her fault she was chesty. Now everybodys going on about how she fell away. Well, how do you blame her if she doesn't get support from her church family.

Well, you know, we really should be praying for her whole family as well. Now, Ashley Simpson is attempting to follow in her famous sister's footsteps and has made it obvious that she will do whatever to get her fame. Man, that is so disheartening!

Eh, I suspect this is the Simpson's own version of what happened. Jaci Valesquez, Rachel Lampa and several other young Christian artists were up and coming around the same time..all attractive and not "boyish", yet they were signed with Christian labels. And even if Jessica was rejected by the Christian industry because of her chest that is still no excuse to forsake her values and dive completely into exploiting herself. In my opinion, Joe Simpson, has practically pimped his daughters out to make a name for themselves.

Seems that depends on how badly you want to serve God.

This is a decision she made, period. If she wants to dress conservatively, she can.
