Thanks you so much for your advice, I will surely try that columb idea. I wanted to ask would you be willing to help hold me accountable on here. I have told a christian with in my church about my problem, but she now is leaving and we aren't very close so she isn't helping to hold me accountable. Thanks again.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes, you may PM me anytime and/or I would be glad to assist you on here.

I had the same problems my friend and heres the steps I took to fight it:

- Filtered out which sites I went to, so I wouldnt be tempted. ( The eyes are the source really )

- Filtered out the movies and magazines I read.

- If tempted, I prayed on the spot and rebuked Satan in the name of Jesus and immediately left and did something active like shoot some hoops. This way, the Lord always delivered me. AND the beautiful thing is when u get used to this it isnt much of a problem anymore.

I pray for you and good luck.

#1Smile.

You have made a good start, by first acknowledging that you know it'a sin and confessing the sin to christian brothers and sisters in Christ on this notice board. I am not one for quoting scripture as a rule, but 1.Cor10:13 is one that has helped me many times. It's about testing and temptation and support to overcome it by the excercising faith that the Lord will  help you overcome it.

Father, I pray for this young woman, that You would send Your comforter, the Holy Spirit that he would guide her in Your ways and repel the desire of the fleshly thoughts before they come upon her and rebuke the power of this habit in the precious name of Jesus.  Amen.

Smile, don't put your trust in the counsel of man, but take it to the Lord in prayer

1Pet.5:7. Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He care for you. NIV.

God bless you,

eric.

Hey Smile! How's it going? How are you doing at putting all this advice into practice? How are your quiet times with God going? What is he teaching you? What do you need prayer for today? Remember this:

"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Phil. 1:3-6 NIV).

May I suggest that you have far too much preoccupation with your problem.

Your attention is on yourself and the works of the flesh to keep your eyes off of Jesus.

Begin to put this matter aside and replace it with reading the bible, prayer and worship of our Saviour.

This activity as well as fellowship with other Christians and reaching out to help others will displace the time your are spending on worrying about your habit.

As someone has stated, it is nothing new and you haven't shocked God.

Replace this habit with new good habits. They are just as hard to break as the bad habits.

Good advice. Light dispels darkness.

How do you get the darkness to go out of a room? Simply turn on the light.

If your problem is internet pornography then this will help on a physical level:

BSafe Internet Filter

If that's not your problem, perhaps somebody else reading this thread will feel led to protect themselves with an internet filter.

 I'm doing well with putting everyones advice to use, I wrote out a sheet putting my sins in one row, then one with ways to replace the sin, and a thrid with verses on it. I also went through the bible and read all the bible verse everyone suggested to read, some where very incouraging and others opened my eyes. I did walk away from the temp. to sin the other day by following another suggestion to do something else that gives me pleasure, I made a birhtday card. Plus in I put in a christian Cd. To keep my mind on God instead of the sin. Thankfully God has protected me today I have not stumbled into the actual act of sin, but satan was temp. with unclean thoughts of sex. But like I said God kept me strong. Thank u all.

Smile,

That's great!! Know that this battle IS WON already because Jesus conquered death and sin on the cross. Just go out there and fight like you know who the winner is, like there is no question but that you are going to conquer the foe. Read the story of David and Goliath for encouragement and strength and just keep walking the walk one day at a time. Here is a song that has helped me, too:

VOICE OF TRUTH

II Corinthians 12:7-10/I Corinthians 1:20-24

Oh what I would do to have

The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I

Hey #1smile I pray that God delivers you from what ever is tempting you and He has total control of your life. You know when we are saved we don't automatically change somethings seem like they disappear at once and others God has to work out. You know that satan doesn't give up just because you are saved he tries even harder the Bible says he desires you to sift you as wheat. Also there may be some things in your house that still satan has attached himself to like music videos or magazines. The best thing you can do is have a housecleaning party and rid it of anything that he may try to still claim possesion of all he needs is an open door. When my wife and i got saved we threw out seems like a small fortune in things at the time we weren't saved to be no problem for us but when God opened our eyes we seen what an effect they had on us. • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
