Amen, I agree with part of the above, but have you all looked at ?

Hi, Yes. Thanks for highlighting it.  

I guess one may be addressing Job's parable, and not that Job is a parable or allegorical tale.  I missed it. Now I will get to reread your message for better understanding.

That's good, I get to study Job's parable to see if it is like the parables of our Lord- where ( as I understand it) the speaking in parables was not to enlighten the immediate audience,  but to speak past them for they will never understand, and instead is intended to set up enlightenment for another group, at another time.

Agree with Royal Neighbor, I view Job as a real person. Recall James 5:11 even mentions Job as one to imitate his endurance. Endurance is such a need quality for Christians more than ever today in this troubled world.

I always thought it fascinating that all Job’s children were taken from him...but his wife remained.

My guess is that there is a reason for everything.

Also, on Job's wife. We forget that Job's wife lost 10 children also and lost her economic standing etc. And to see her husband go through all the pain physically that he had to endure she surely was depressed.

Amen, Surely, that was something to experience, but the LORD must have brought them out of their afflictions in due time.
