9-28-19, 7th. Day of The Weekly Cycle, Elul 28, 5779 6th. Fall Day, 51st. Torah Portion after Tabernacles 2018, Nivarim/Standing, Deut. 29:10-15, Isaiah 61, John 12

A Day Of Rest

Genesis 2:2-3 2By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Exodus 20:8-11 8"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Christ's Ministry And Miracles:

Luke 4:14-44

Luke 4:16 16He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,

Acts 17:2 2As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

And as I have posted before:

Is there anyone that keeps The Sabbath Day Holy, from Sunset on the 6th.Day/Friday until The ending of The 7th. Day at Sunset, on Saturday by The Gregorian Calendar.

If so being on one accord for that event to happen, We want to thank God for your Faith in doing just that as a start to perfection. Every Sabbath , Sabbath Scriptures: About Sabbath Scriptures , Sabbath Day In The KJV

Sabbath Day, Please Read all.

Love always, Walter

Thank you Deborah and Walter for posting this thread.

I too am a SABBATH KEEPER IN CHRIST. I am not a Jew or of Jewish heritage.. so I keep the Sabbath on Sunday as God called me to honor it. Sunday was not my idea, it was God who spoke the choice to me, as I am a gentile

John 14:15 says, "If you love me keep my commandments".

1st John 2:3 says, "By this we can be sure we know HIM, if we keep His commandments.

2nd John 1:6 says ,"For this is love for God, that we keep his commandments.

The 4th commandment is about keeping the SABBATH. The mainline and street corner churches refuse to believe that the GIFT of keeping the Sabbath is part of the Good News from Jesus Christ and in keeping or not keeping is a large part of our SALVATION...Not just believing in Christ.

Just believing in Christ DOES NOT SAVE US !!!! It's just the beginning.

There are 86 verses in the Old Testament about the Sabbath.

There are 52 verses in the New Testament about the Sabbath, and 21 were spoken by Jesus.

That's a total of 138 verses about just the Sabbath.

How much is needed to get your attention ???

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For all of you who find fault with what I say in the following statements, this was not spoken off the top of my head. I AM 76 YEARS OLD MALE (Read "About me" in my profile) and have studied God's word for over 40 years, and have had to change in what I thought was the truth several times as the Holy Spirit has led me through His word in my personal growth.

I am sharing this as my own personal opinion and conclusions, not to cause havoc or anger or to confuse, or to expect you to believe me, or to have to do what I do, but to give people here who read this something to think about, because I believe many of you hear things and experience things you have questioned, just as I did over those 40 some years ago and it just drove me crazy, so I set out to find the answer to all those things that made no sense at all. Those contradictions between what God's word say's, and what I heard said and what I saw done in the name of Christ compared to Christs word. God's word is my STANDARD

For me, The Holy Spirit has led me to the truth after all this time, and I'm still somewhat in shock, but not in doubt. It all makes sense now what Gods truth is, instead of what I have heard and seen, which made NO sense at times.

I'm sure many of you can relate.

So PLEASE, if you too are in doubt, PLEASE PRAY FOR THE TRUTH, believe it will be given, and then set on on your own personal qwest in God's word and God will answer all your concerns through the Holy Spirit.

God bless you all

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My last stage of learning was last March and again in April OF THIS YEAR, when God TURNED MY FAITH UPSIDE DOWN and sent me reeling, not just about the Sabbath, but so many other things also.

It is scary to me after studying the history of the bible and the history of the church, to see and EXPERIECE how little is left of "GODS CHRISTIANITY", and how much greater the faith was in Paul's time.

The sabbath has been written completely out and taught completely out of the Christian Faith along with so many other parts of the doctrine of Christ, and watered down over 2000 years by heritics, false teachers and doctrines of abomination to God. And like an onion with most of it's layers peeled away to hardly be recognized as an onion,  there isn't enough left of the truth of the bible left to recognizs what God had originally intended for us to understand and practice.

God's New Testament word has been twisted and turned BY CHRISTIAN ACTING LEADERS for so long, just like the Jewish leaders did to the Mosiac law, until it was unrecognizable, and Jesus had to come back to set things straight for both the Jews and gentiles, but once again HISTORY HAS REPEATED ITSELF, and we as Christ followers have the same problem of not having the truth as God intended us to have, just like the Jews had a false teaching, just before Jesus came back.

Thank you God you are sending Christ back one more time, to take your chosen home.

I don't know if I'm one of those "FEW" chosen by God to go home, but I sure hope I am by what my heart is like, and how I have lived for Him, even as a sinner in my own sins.

Thank you for taking the time to come here and maybe consider what you have read.

In Christs love - Dave

Interesting that you should bring this subject up now as I also have wondered about the historical question of when, who, and why was the day of worship changed within the Christian churches and through my reading and research came across some very troubling facts about the Roman Catholic Church dictating this change and its rational. I have never received a clear, coherent, or in any way complete answer before to my questions about the subject when I was in Bible college back right after dirt was invented. :)

Amen, But in all my days, I have not heard of the above, in my studies of the bible maybe on how it was changed. :)

It was AMAZING to me when The Holy Spirit spoke to me about honoring the Sabbath and, like you. that first Sabbath made me feel more complete as a believer, as I still do after 12 years of honoring the Sabbath and knowing what God's word has to say about it....PRAISE GOD !!! THANK YOU JESUS !!!

True, but that does not change the fact of what Jesus said.

John 14:15 King James Version (KJV)

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

and

John 10:30 King James Version (KJV)

30 I and my Father are one.

That said, if Jesus and the father are one and G_d the Father set up the Sabbath commandments, and Jesus said to keep my commandments then why have the Christian churches changed those Sabbath commandments? I found they were changed by the Catholic Church by order of Roman Law and that Christianity in the fourth Century forward simply followed Roman Law over G_d's Law. I am simply asking modern day Christianity for a good reason why continue? I mean the scribes, Pharisees, and Sadducees put their oral and written traditions equal to and/or above G_d's Law which is what brought them into conflict with Jesus during His time on earth. I would not think leaders of denominations within the Church of those calling themselves Christians would want to make the same mistakes by putting written traditions above Biblical Scripture. But then I have been wrong before. Jesus did not come to change or destroy the work of the Father but to confirm and fulfill it: He did not make it null or void. :39: Hmmm

Might some of the "doctrines" and traditions we have inherited from our "church fathers" be corruptions of the truth?  So is modern day Christianity learning the lessons Jesus and His apostles taught, or are they repeating the errors they exposed?

Everyday becomes Jesus Sabbath now, you rest ur heart in Jesus, not ur body. Thats the real Sabbath.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
