Guest
If you could meet one person from the Bible in heaven, apart of course from Jesus himself, who would you choose and why? I choose Saint Paul. He was just amazing. Responsible for so much of the New Testament, he was prepared to suffer whatever necessary to plant the new young church and lead it. To spread the good news of Jesus unflinchingly. What a man he was! To meet him would be amazing. So choose any character from old or new testament and say why. I would want to know what it was liking raising Him. I also like the fact that she seemed to love God all her life. We tend to celebrate those who come to God after a life of great sin and destruction towards others (and I know Angels celebrate when that happens) but don’t seem to talk about those who seem to have been faithful for most of their lives starting in their youth. He had such strong faith through unimaginable pain and destruction. NT: John. Well, it's hard to explain but, I think he could tell very interesting stories and would be interesting very intersting to talk to. I am indeed looking forward to talk to them in eterenity greatly, along with Jesus.

King David. Perhaps also Job, because i've been rather curious about the details of what illness(es) he ailed from. NT - John the Baptist. I'm not exactly sure why. Though, the question points to those who are in heaven. I must admit i'd be leaning a bit more towards figures that weren't very... Godly. I'd just be fascinated to see what their thought process was. In particular, Balaam, and King Saul. Balaam seemed like an alright figure at first, but then despite his curses turning into blessings and being aware of God's plan for the Israelites, he still went and stuck his foot in the dung anyway. Then King Saul is such a chaotic and confusing figure that it might be interesting to see what his personality was like. Though, i'd rather not have a spear thrown at my face, mind you. Maybe even Judas, to look into how it felt to know that he was the one to betray Jesus.

Mary Magdalene, the way I read Scripture she's one of Christ's closest friends. I think she'd offer some good conversation and have some really amazing stories. Also Jonah, Hosea and Habbakkuk, plus the apostle of whom nothing much at all is known except he was chosen by the taking of lots, the Apostle Matthisa; plus it might be fun to meet Justus the one whom the lot did not fall upon. ADONAI asked the Adversary, "Did you notice my servant Iyov, that there's no one like him on earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and shuns evil, and that he still holds on to his integrity, even though you provoked me against him to destroy him for no reason?" …neither committed a sin nor put blame on God. In all this Iyov did not say one sinful word. ...for I have not denied the words of the Holy One. My feet have stayed in his footsteps; I keep to his way without turning aside. I don't withdraw from his lips' command; I treasure his words more than my daily food. ADONAI said...My servant Iyov will pray for you - because him I will accept - so that I won't punish you as your boorishness deserves; because you have not spoken rightly about me, as my servant Iyov has." So Elifaz the Teimani, Bildad the Shuchi and Tzofar the Na'amati went and did what ADONAI had ordered them to do, and ADONAI accepted Iyov['s prayer]. When Iyov prayed for his friends, ADONAI restored his fortunes; ADONAI gave Iyov twice as much as he had had before.
