Mods are volunteers who have lives outside of worthy, (hard as it is to believe that). So it takes awhile to get things approved. I approved them only a few minutes ago. Before that I was sleeping.

You misunderstood me. I didn't imply that you guys weren't doing your job--not at all. I was wondering why there was a hold at all and the field went pink. Other threads and posts haven't had mod permission.

The latest trend over the years has been to blame it on the chickens.   One poor chicken sneezes because of dust then millions are killed.

speaking of chickens....lol.   The historical perspective is certainly relevant I think.  Understanding what viruses can do, and have done in the past informs understanding of the potential we're now facing.  I hadn't mentioned this, but I watch...speaking of chickens :)

There is CURRENTLY an outbreak of H5N8 Bird Flu decimating Polish turkey flocks.  And that is an interesting variation.  It wiped out poultry in Ireland all the way back in 1983 and has been cropping up occasionally ever since all over the world.   The thing about Avian (Bird) flus is SO FAR they have required direct contact with dead poultry to infect humans...human to human transmission has been extremely rare....and a very good thing with a 60% mortality rate.

What caught my eye about the H5N8 strain, is the fact it is already known to have been transmitted to mammals in Thailand and Korea as far back as 2014.  If a human to human transmissible version of either of those comes on the scene....well.... "Biblical proportions" will be an unquestionable description of the devastation.

it depends on which forum it is.   Politics tends to get kind of scrappy so all of those are monitored...   they'll get around to it.
