Lately I've gone through a near decade dry spell in my Christian walk, and I thought to myself: "How I miss the input of a Christian brother or sister. How I want to hear them speak of the Lord to me".
But then it struck me...

I came from a pentacostal-like background, where people were encouraged to prophecy.
I always found this weird, because prophecy for me, was something that came upon me; not something I could generate.

It has often scared people, myself included, and 100% of the true and genuine prophecies, that revealed themself like a bomb in my heart, all came true.

Though I also realized that in wanting, I spoke words not of the Lord, and have many a time, seen people do the same (for years speak out of their own flesh).
If a person were to approach me, and ask me about their life, I would probably speak the most Godly word, by telling them I knew nothing at all, or had no inspiration.

And I was reminded of King Saul, wanting advice from Samuel, who wasn't available, so he went to a medium; and in doing this, he sinned.

Our utter dependence on God, being replaced on our dependence on people!

While I still want to be encouraged, and helped by Christians, I also realize that it circumvents what God wanted us to do; is to seek Him, and ask Him!
And believe in Him, that He would provide the answers, and help we need!

A prophet can not live alone. Nor can anyone else of the kingdom. Not even Jesus walked alone on this earth!
So we do need one another, but not to be the replacement of God in our lives.

And I pondered.... I heard so many Christians talking bad about different denominations (or believers that were categorized as such), when I grew up; and so many Christians believing they were in the correct religion.
And then I saw also the errors they made. The judgements they made. The mistakes.
Like prophecying without caring if it was truly a word of God...
I fear when I speak the word of God! I truly do! Because I know it makes me look foolish, to obey and trust Him completely.
And if something goes wrong, it's on my head. But if it goes right, the glory belongs to Him.
To speak of the Lord, as a messenger of God, at best, you give glory to God, and keep nothing to yourself.
Worse, and you made a mistake, and be of ridicule to others; or worse, be put to death (depending on where you live).
Worst, and you'll take the glory that belonged to God, and make it your own (that's a rat's nest of sins that can take decades to discover and untangle sometimes).

So there's no marvelous story for those that seek to speak God's words.
Most of the time, we find opposition to our words, from those who disagree, or by failing to relay our part in the story.

A word of God is as much what you say, as what you don't say!

Anyway,
What caused me to write here, was just sadness over how little we think, how unimportant it seems to most, a word from God.
Yet 1 word, can be truly life changing to some.
We all seek it, but not all speak it.
How few people I know, that also know the Lord!
Like Joshua, that abide in His tent, to gaze upon Him, and that depend on Him...

...more to come at a later time...

For starters, if one doesn't KNOW that somethings of God then its not of God. You/I/Anyone can go 25-30 years and not know if the Rapture is pre trib or not, but when God decides to show you He does so, or maybe you just decided to seeks God's face earnestly on a subject so God reveals it to you/us.  But when its revealed, if one is of God they know because the unction of the Holy spirit is undeniable.

So I can have an idea for years, but I will not never say this is of God until I get that unction of the holy spirit on a matter, to do so is WRONG. When its our ideas, like the RCC is the Beast which is bunk, or Islam is where the Anti-Christ comes from which is also bunk, then we are not uttering what's of God but our own ideas as being from God. We should always say this is just an idea of mine, its not from God in those cases.

So I don't really get the dilemma here, if one doesn't know somethings of God they should just admit its their idea, if one knows its of God it should be of God. We should always be able to tell the difference, if not Satan is deceiving us somewhere down the line.

One can never know for certain, a word is from God or not.

To know, draws pride. And to know, means one thinks one can grasp what God is doing. God often humbles such individuals, that think they know what he's doing, by changing His plans.

The unction, anointing, is not there for the one who speaks, but for the one who hears.

Many years and experience have taught me a metric that is helpful. To be clear, I am not referencing prophecy and a 'word' of the Lord as foretelling.

Anyway--I believe that the Holy Spirit has two main functions and will always be faithful to these. To convict of sin and to point to Christ.

I have found this to be true as an individual and in an assembly.

The unction for teaching and instruction and encouragement for the benefit of those gathered in His Name, will in one way or the other be faithful to these points.

When the Holy Spirit illumines His word--He is pointing to Christ and glorifies Him.

Dry spells for an individual drive us into our Lord. More often than not, we won't know why. In personal experience regarding our daily walk with Him, I have found a dry spell being connected to my own failure to be faithful to something He has given me of Himself. This has nothing to do with salvation, but everything to do with my own faithfulness or lack of. Another important point is to consider the affects of drawing into ourselves and becoming self-centered. The Lord within us is always reaching outward.

Picture a faucet with the valve open or closed. Life needs to flow and we find when it is flowing outward for others, we as individuals are just as blessed by that Life as the ones on the receiving end. Seek to love. The Church is a living breathing expression of Christ and no member can stand alone. This is the Nature of the Body of Christ.

In an assembly of believers, who experience a change of the dynamic working of God among them---there are gonna be reasons, but this is not a place to discuss those.

I hope and pray this is helpful.

2 Tim 3:15-17

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
KJV

God's Word says you can... it is the Scripture and the last book written has a seal upon it.

Many authors have written books involving the interpretation of prophecy, primarily on the books of Daniel and Revelation. Few of the popular authors in this field have exhibited more than a small amount of spiritual insight, with the result that the fruits of their labor are equally capable of attainment by an unbeliever who, of course, would be incapable of any true spiritual enlightenment.

Also, the popular authors tend to interpret only those portions of Scripture that would appeal to their reading audience and to avoid portions that might be offensive and thus endanger the appeal of their books.

So Christ also having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation. (Heb. 9:28)

But of that day and hour knows no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only. (Matt. 24:36)

Anyone who sets a precise date for the ending of this age- regardless of source or reasoning- is wrong!

Now from the fig tree learn her parable Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished. (Matt. 24:32‑34)

It has been realized by students of the Bible for more than two hundred years that the parable of the fig tree meant that Israel would become a nation again.

Israel became a nation again on May 14, 1948.

It is clear from the correlation between these verses that the great earthquake of the sixth seal occurs shortly before the last three and a half years <the great Tribulation> of this age.

Although this earthquake will be of supernatural magnitude, unlike the subsequent calamities of the great Tribulation, it will have natural causes. Can we thus determine approximately when this earthquake is likeliest to occur?

And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars; ...for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. (Luke 21:25-26)

Notice that Luke 21:25‑26 is a description of outward signs also occurring at this time. What are the only signs in the sun that are visible to the naked eye? Sunspots! The word translated as 'stars' in Luke 21:25 may equally be in reference to the planets. Is there a connection between the cause of this great earthquake and these other, simultaneously occurring outward signs?

According to Wood, the next two sunspot cycles will peak in 1982 & 1993...307

Now, to the surprise of many scientists, there has come evidence that the alignments of the planets can, for sound scientific reasons, affect the behavior of the earth. But one of these occasions‑ an alignment of the planets which occurs only once every 179 years‑ is due in 1982309

The most likely time for the triggering of the earthquake is the time midway between the spring and fall of 1982. Thus, the focal point of likeliest time is midnight August 4-5, Israeli time, midway between spring and fall.

The next appearance of Halley's comet will be in 1986 ... it will appear brightest in February of 1986 . . 318

Almost certainly this was the star that the Wise‑men followed, and it was the tail of Halley's comet that was used by God to point their way.

The alignment of the planets converges with a sunspot peak only once every 1,969 years. In this situation, we have the precise concurrence of a series of events that is unique, with a single event (Israel) that is likewise unique, all of which was prophesied nineteen centuries ago. Mathematically, there is no chance whatsoever that these events are merely coincidental.

...as modern chronologers have demonstrated, that the date of the Christian era, or of the birth of Christ Himself, was moved FOUR YEARS from the true time. ...but there seems to be no doubt of the fact, that the birth of the Lord Jesus was made full four years later than the truth. 314

What is the significance of the six days of the restoration and the seventh day of rest spoken of in Genesis, chapters 1 and 2?

Deduction based on various statements in the Bible; however, place the date of creation only a few thousand years in the past. The precise date usually found in the headings of the King James Bible is 4004 B.C., this date having been worked out by the Irish theologian James Ussher (1581‑1656). 319

...with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day. (2 Peter 3:8)

This date of 4004 B.C. is a date indicated by the Scriptures.

As we have seen previously, Christ was actually born in the year that we record as 4 B.C. Thus, it was four of the Lord's days (exactly 4,000 of our years) from the indicated date of "creation" to the birth of Christ. Using the same reckoning, the time of the Lord's return (which will be at the beginning of the seventh day, the millennium) should be the year 1996.  If He has not returned by this time, then He has tarried because the bride still hasn’t made herself ready.

I think that the following conclusions are both accurate and appropriate:

1. Before midnight Israeli time August 4‑5, 1982 the last 3 1/2 years before the physical return of Christ (the Great Tribulation) could not begin. Now it can begin anytime.

2. We still see through a glass darkly what the 3 1/2 years before (the first half of the last week of years) the Great Tribulation will transpire as.

3. In His mercy, the Lord has tarried. He probably should have been back no later than 1996.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
