Are we suppose to believe in aliens?

Ezekiel 1:15-21

Ezekiel 1:15 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.

Ezekiel 1:16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.

Ezekiel 1:17 When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.

Ezekiel 1:18 As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.

Ezekiel 1:19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

Ezekiel 1:20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

Ezekiel 1:21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

Now I am no Bible Scholar, but I think this one has been tripping people up for a while. This sounds an awful lot like some sort of UFO, and NELSON'S LITTLE BOOK OF WHERE TO FIND IT IN THE BIBLE lists it as a reference to UFO's. I am not sure if the information provided in this book (available at most bookstores) is 100% accurate. It makes for an interesting discussion though. I personally feel that God created the vast universe in which we live for a reason and that He wouldn't have created such a vast area just to put life on one little ball of mud in a corner of it somewhere. So, in a way, I guess maybe I do believe in UFO's and aliens.

For the record...most references cited for aliens in the posts to this topic are actually referring to what we would call foreigners...People from other countries...

One of the disturbing aspects of the Old Testament record was God's instructions, upon entering the land of Canaan, to wipe out every man, woman, and child of certain tribes inhabiting the land. This is difficult to justify without the insight of a "gene pool problem" from the remaining Nephilim, Rephaim, et al., which seems to illuminate the difficulty.

A very important thing for those poo-poohing this to consider as this is used by many an unbeliever as a reason not to believe in G-d. I have debated atheists and humanists over this exact thing, so you need to be able to give a better answer than "because he is G-d" .

He is a righteous G-d and that was what caused me to search into this myself.

Perhaps I'm off the topic here; but this statement seems to ask why God would wipe out the people that were in Canaan before the Israelites entered. During my research into this subject; I have found it very simply, that God hates Sin, he did not give the land to the Israelites because they were rightous; The people of canaan Sinned before God, and Israel was used as a tool to get rid of it. Like it or not during the old testement times God cleansed the land of sin in this mannor.
