Fighting The Good Fight, And Getting Tired

I was in an Admin meeting last night with a few others admins. We were sharing how we were just plain tired. It seemed everyone of us has been in a spiritual battle or battles. We all had stories about what we were going through. I said I was just plain tired and wanted to go home, I wasn't alone. For those of you who don't know I"m going to bare my soul. I have been married for 23 years. The first 15 were wonderful. We never had a cross word, did things together it was wonderful. Then here in Calif they decided that a good way to create revenue was to legalize gambling, and proceeded to open several casions just a hour away from where we live. That is when the problems started. My husband started going every weekend. From then on he changed. Defending what he was doing. Saying things to me that ripped my heart out. It has gone down hill from there. For the last several weeks I have felt the love I had for him slip away. Yet my heart tells me that this is the man I do love, the man God gave me and I want him in heaven with me. The other two admins had their private fights too but we all shared with one another, prayed for each other and ended by praising God for his promises He will never fail to keep. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen an increase of problems in their lives. Maybe we are only a heartbeat away from the return of Jesus and that is why satan is pulling out all the stops. If you want to please share what you have been going through, as they say there is strength in numbers. Together we can put the devil back in his place, and his place is not around and harassing the people of God. Thanks saints for listening. I love you all. Rusty

Rusty, first let me say that I'm sorry for the marital battle you are in. I'm in southern California, too, so I know exactly what you mean by all of the casinos (Pechanga, etc.).

Remember first of all that your husband is not your enemy. It is a spiritual battle, not a carnal one.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

We as humans are all tempted with the same 3 things. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. These 3 things bombard us all on a daily basis, and in California we are beneficiaries of an "extra dose."

I think you need to continue to pray for your husband and be an example to him. If he will not listen to you then I think you may need to tell your Pastor. Perhaps some external accountability will have an effect.

I'll pray for you right now, Rusty, because God is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all we can ask or think!

Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

2Co 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

PS. Praise God, all things are going exceedingly well with my family and I. God has and is blessing us abundantly despite the fact that I certainly do not deserve it. God is so good and so kind. It truly is His kindness that leads us to repentance and a fuller desire to know and walk with Him. Amen!

Know that you are being bathed in prayer on this end. Everyone here at Worthy is. I believe this is a crucial time for Christians because enemy attacks appear to be heavy right now. Thank you for sharing your need with us. It's really good to know that the Worthy team has such a great support system for each other and the members. This site really is a blessing. And you know it's making a difference because of the intensity of recent attacks that have been coming to light.

I've only recently come to understand something. Satan's goal is not to have a lot of company with him in hell. He doesn't want them for himself. That's not what he's interested in. He's interested in taking people away from God. It's pure spite and hatred. He couldn't care less about the people, he just wants to rob God of them. That really fired-up my furnace when I realized that.
