Matthew 25

31 “Now when the Human One  comes in his majesty and all his angels are with him, he will sit on his majestic throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered in front of him. He will separate them from each other, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right side. But the goats he will put on his left.

34 “Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who will receive good things from my Father. Inherit the kingdom that was prepared for you before the world began. 35 I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. 36 I was naked and you gave me clothes to wear. I was sick and you took care of me. I was in prison and you visited me.’

37 “Then those who are righteous will reply to him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink? 38 When did we see you as a stranger and welcome you, or naked and give you clothes to wear? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 “Then the king will reply to them, ‘I assure you that when you have done it for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you have done it for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Get away from me, you who will receive terrible things. Go into the unending fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 I was hungry and you didn’t give me food to eat. I was thirsty and you didn’t give me anything to drink. 43 I was a stranger and you didn’t welcome me. I was naked and you didn’t give me clothes to wear. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and didn’t do anything to help you?’ 45 Then he will answer, ‘I assure you that when you haven’t done it for one of the least of these, you haven’t done it for me.’ 46 And they will go away into eternal punishment. But the righteous ones will go into eternal life.”

Revelation 19  King James

1. And after these things I heard a great voice of many people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2. For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great harlot, who did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

3. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up forever and ever.

4. And the four and twenty elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

5. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great.

6. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.

7. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his wife has made herself ready.

8. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of saints.

9. And he said unto me, Write, Blessed are they who are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

10. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See you do it not: I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

11. And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon it was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war.

12. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13. And he was clothed with a robe dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15. And out of his mouth goes forth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16. And he has on his robe and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

17. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in midheaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18. That you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, both small and great.

19. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that worked miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21. And the rest were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

New World Translation

'

Revelation 19
1. After these things I heard what was as a loud voice of a great crowd in heaven. They said: 'Praise Jah, YOU people! The salvation and the glory and the power belong to our God,

2. because his judgments are true and righteous. For he has executed judgment upon the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and he has avenged the blood of his slaves at her hand.'

3. And right away for the second time they said: 'Praise Jah, YOU people! And the smoke from her goes on ascending forever and ever.'

4. And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God seated upon the throne, and said: 'Amen! Praise Jah, YOU people!'

5. Also, a voice issued forth from the throne and said: 'Be praising our God, all YOU his slaves, who fear him, the small ones and the great.'

6. And I heard what was as a voice of a great crowd and as a sound of many waters and as a sound of heavy thunders. They said: 'Praise Jah, YOU people, because Jehovah our God, the Almighty, has begun to rule as king.

7. Let us rejoice and be overjoyed, and let us give him the glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has arrived and his wife has prepared herself.

8. Yes, it has been granted to her to be arrayed in bright, clean, fine linen, for the fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the holy ones.'

9. And he tells me: 'Write: Happy are those invited to the evening meal of the Lamb's marriage.' Also, he tells me: 'These are the true sayings of God.'

10. At that I fell down before his feet to worship him. But he tells me: 'Be careful! Do not do that! All I am is a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who have the work of witnessing to Jesus. Worship God; for the bearing witness to Jesus is what inspires prophesying.'

11. And I saw the heaven opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness.

12. His eyes are a fiery flame, and upon his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself,

13. and he is arrayed with an outer garment sprinkled with blood, and the name he is called is The Word of God.

14. Also, the armies that were in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen.

15. And out of his mouth there protrudes a sharp long sword, that he may strike the nations with it, and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron. He treads too the winepress of the anger of the wrath of God the Almighty.

16. And upon his outer garment, even upon his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

17. I saw also an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice and said to all the birds that fly in midheaven: 'Come here, be gathered together to the great evening meal of God,

18. that YOU may eat the fleshy parts of kings and the fleshy parts of military commanders and the fleshy parts of strong men and the fleshy parts of horses and of those seated upon them, and the fleshy parts of all, of freemen as well as of slaves and of small ones and great.'

19. And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage the war with the one seated on the horse and with his army.

20. And the wild beast was caught, and along with it the false prophet that performed in front of it the signs with which he misled those who received the mark of the wild beast and those who render worship to its image. While still alive, they both were hurled into the fiery lake that burns with sulphur.

21. But the rest were killed off with the long sword of the one seated on the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth. And all the birds were filled from the fleshy parts of them.

2 Timothy 3:16Every scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for showing mistakes, for correcting, and for training character,

I do not understand what they are trying to say in changing verse 10,  but "scripture is inspired by God" came to mind.

Revelation 20

KJV 20:4. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

NWT 20:4. And I saw thrones, and there were those who sat down on them, and power of judging was given them. Yes, I saw the souls of those executed with the ax for the witness they bore to Jesus and for speaking about God, and those who had worshiped neither the wild beast nor its image and who had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand. And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for a thousand years.

New International Version
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Most translations have "word of God".    I can not find justification for "for speaking about God," -- Message and Word of God fits.

Contemporary English Version
I saw thrones, and sitting on those thrones were the ones who had been given the right to judge. I also saw the souls of the people who had their heads cut off because they had told about Jesus and preached God's message. They were the same ones who had not worshiped the beast or the idol, and they had refused to let its mark be put on their foreheads or hands. They will come to life and rule with Christ for 1,000 years.

Weymouth New Testament
And I saw thrones, and some who were seated on them, to whom judgment was entrusted. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded on account of the testimony that they had borne to Jesus and on account of God's Message, and also the souls of those who had not worshipped the Wild Beast or his statue, nor received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands; and they came to Life and were kings with Christ for a thousand years.

Revelation 21

NWT 21:6. And he said to me: 'They have come to pass! I am the Al'pha and the O·me'ga, the beginning and the end. To anyone thirsting I will give from the fountain of the water of life free.

KJV  21:22. And I saw no temple in it: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

NWT  21:22. And I did not see a temple in it, for Jehovah God the Almighty is its temple, also the Lamb [is].

Who is the speaker of this chapter?   Hint:  see chapter 1

NWT 21:22 is just plan awkward.

Revelation 22

KJV 5. And there shall be no night there; and they need no lamp, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they shall reign forever and ever.

NWT 5. Also, night will be no more, and they have no need of lamplight nor [do they have] sunlight, because Jehovah God will shed light upon them, and they will rule as kings forever and ever.

KJV 6. And he said unto me, These words are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

NWT 6. And he said to me: 'These words are faithful and true; yes, Jehovah the God of the inspired expressions of the prophets sent his angel forth to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place.

NWT

8. Well, I John was the one hearing and seeing these things. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel that had been showing me these things.

9. But he tells me: 'Be careful! Do not do that! All I am is a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who are prophets and of those who are observing the words of this scroll. Worship God.'

NWT 13. I am the Al'pha and the O·me'ga, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

KJV 16. I Jesus have sent my angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

NWT 16. ''I, Jesus, sent my angel to bear witness to YOU people of these things for the congregations. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright morning star.''

Revelation 20 Common English Bible (CEB)

12 “Look! I’m coming soon. My reward is with me, to repay all people as their actions deserve. 13 I am the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. 14 Favored are those who wash their robes so that they may have the right of access to the tree of life and may enter the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs, the drug users and spell-casters, those who commit sexual immorality, the murderers, the idolaters, and all who love and practice deception.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to bear witness to all of you about these things for the churches. I’m the root and descendant of David, the bright morning star. 17 The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ Let the one who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let the one who is thirsty come! Let the one who wishes receive life-giving water  as a gift.”

As you can see the Alpha and Omega in verse 13  is Jesus from verse 16.

Clearly from this review of the book of Revelation in the New World Translation adds things to that book and fall under the problem in Rev 22:18-19

Good Night, Be Well and God Bless

Hebrews 1

KJV  3. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

NWT 3. He is the reflection of [his] glory and the exact representation of his very being, and he sustains all things by the word of his power; and after he had made a purification for our sins he sat down on the right hand of the Majesty in lofty places.

"Verse 3

Being (ων  ōn). Absolute and timeless existence (present active participle of ειμι  eimi) in contrast with γενομενος  genomenos in Hebrews 1:4 like ην  ēn in John 1:1 (in contrast with εγενετο  egeneto in John 1:14) and like υπαρχων  huparchōn and γενομενος  genomenos in Philemon 2:6.

The effulgence of his glory (απαυγασμα της δοχης  apaugasma tēs doxēs). The word απαυγασμα  apaugasma late substantive from απαυγαζω  apaugazō to emit brightness (αυγη αυγαζω  augē class="normal greek">χαρακτηρ της υποστασεως — augazō in 2 Corinthians 4:4), here only in the N.T., but in Wisdom 7:26 and in Philo. It can mean either reflected brightness, refulgence (Calvin, Thayer) or effulgence (ray from an original light body) as the Greek fathers hold. Both senses are true of Christ in his relation to God as Jesus shows in plain language in John 12:45; John 14:9. “The writer is using metaphors which had already been applied to Wisdom and the Logos” (Moffatt). The meaning “effulgence” suits the context better, though it gives the idea of eternal generation of the Son (John 1:1), the term Father applied to God necessarily involving Son. See this same metaphor in 2 Corinthians 4:6.

The very image of his substance (Χαρακτηρ  charaktēr tēs hupostaseōs). χαρασσω  Charaktēr is an old word from τηρ  charassō to cut, to scratch, to mark. It first was the agent (note ending = χαραγμα  tēr) or tool that did the marking, then the mark or impress made, the exact reproduction, a meaning clearly expressed by χαρακτηρ  charagma (Acts 17:29; Revelation 13:16.). Menander had already used (Moffatt) υποστασις  charaktēr in the sense of our “character.” The word occurs in the inscriptions for “person” as well as for “exact reproduction” of a person. The word ψποστασις  hupostasis for the being or essence of God “is a philosophical rather than a religious term” (Moffatt). Etymologically it is the sediment or foundation under a building (for instance). In Hebrews 11:1 μορπη τεου  hypostasis is like the “title-deed” idea found in the papyri. Athanasius rightly used Hebrews 1:1-4 in his controversy with Arius. Paul in Philemon 2:5-11 pictures the real and eternal deity of Christ free from the philosophical language here employed. But even Paul‘s simpler phrase Λογος  morphē theou (the form of God) has difficulties of its own. The use of περων τε  Logos in John 1:1-18 is parallel to Hebrews 1:1-4.

And upholding (περω  pherōn te). Present active participle of ων  pherō closely connected with τε  ōn (being) by τωι ρηματι της δυναμεως αυτου  te and like Colossians 1:17 in idea. The newer science as expounded by Eddington and Jeans is in harmony with the spiritual and personal conception of creation here presented.

By the word of his power (ρημα  tōi rēmati tēs dunameōs autou). Instrumental case of ρηματι τεου  rēma (word). See Hebrews 11:3 for αυτου  rēmati theou (by the word of God) as the explanation of creation like Genesis, but here καταρισμον των αμαρτιων  autou refers to God‘s Son as in Hebrews 1:2.

Purification of sins (Καταρισμος  katharismon tōn hamartiōn). καταριζω  Katharismos is from ποιησαμενος  katharizō to cleanse (Matthew 8:3; Hebrews 9:14), here only in Hebrews, but in same sense of cleansing from sins, 2 Peter 1:9; Job 7:21. Note middle participle ευραμενος  poiēsamenos like εκατισεν  heuramenos in Hebrews 9:12. This is the first mention of the priestly work of Christ, the keynote of this Epistle.

Sat down (κατιζω  ekathisen). First aorist active of της μεγαλοσυνης εν υπσηλοις  kathizō “took his seat,” a formal and dignified act.

Of the Majesty on high (μεγας  tēs megalosunēs en hupsēlois). Late word from εν υπσηλοις  megas only in lxx (Deut 32:3; 2Sam 7:23, etc.), Aristeas, Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 8:1; Judges 1:25. Christ resumed his original dignity and glory (John 17:5). The phrase εν υπσιστοις  en hupsēlois occurs in the Psalms (Psalm 93:4), here only in N.T., elsewhere εν τοις επουρανιοις  en hupsistois in the highest (Matthew 21:9; Luke 2:14) or en tois epouraniois in the heavenlies (Ephesians 1:3, Ephesians 1:20). Jesus is here pictured as King (Prophet and Priest also) Messiah seated at the right hand of God."

Wisdom 7:26 New American Bible (Revised Edition) (NABRE)
26 For she is the reflection of eternal light,
the spotless mirror of the power of God,
    the image of his goodness.

NWT  5. For example, to which one of the angels did he ever say: 'You are my son; I, today, I have become your father'? And again: 'I myself shall become his father, and he himself will become my son'?

Hebrews 1:5 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
5 God never said this to any of the angels:

“You are my Son.
Today I have become your Father.”

God also never said about an angel,

“I will be his Father,
and he will be my son.”

Proves beyond doubt that Jesus was never an Angel.

"Verse 5

Unto which (Τινι  Tini). “To which individual angel.” As a class angels are called sons of God (Elohim) (Psalm 29:1), but no single angel is called God‘s Son like the Messiah in Psalm 2:7. Dods takes “have I begotten thee” (γεγεννηκα σε  gegennēka se perfect active indicative of γενναω  gennaō) to refer to the resurrection and ascension while others refer it to the incarnation.

And again (και παλιν  kai palin). This quotation is from 2 Samuel 7:14. Note the use of εις  eis in the predicate with the sense of “as” like the Hebrew (lxx idiom), not preserved in the English. See Matthew 19:5; Luke 2:34. Like Old English “to” or “for.” See 2 Corinthians 6:18; Revelation 21:7 for the same passage applied to relation between God and Christians while here it is treated as Messianic."

Psalm 2:7 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
7 I will tell of the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, “You are my son,
    today I have begotten you.

2 Samuel 7:14 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. When he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men;

KJV  6. And again, when he brings the first begotten into the world, he says, And let all the angels of God worship him.

NWT 6. But when he again brings his Firstborn into the inhabited earth, he says: 'And let all God's angels do obeisance to him.'

"Verse 6

And when he again bringeth in (οταν δε παλιν εισαγαγηι  hotan de palin eisagagēi). Indefinite temporal clause with οταν  hotan and second aorist active subjunctive of εισαγω  eisagō If παλιν  palin is taken with εισαγαγηι  eisagagēi the reference is to the Second Coming as in Hebrews 9:28. If παλιν  palin merely introduces another quotation (Psalm 97:7) parallel to και παλιν  kai palin in Hebrews 1:5, the reference is to the incarnation when the angels did worship the Child Jesus (Luke 2:13.). There is no way to decide certainly about it.

The first-born (τον πρωτοτοκον  ton prōtotokon). See Psalm 89:28. For this compound adjective applied to Christ in relation to the universe see Colossians 1:15, to other men, Romans 8:29; Colossians 1:18, to the other children of Mary, Luke 2:7; here it is used absolutely.

The world (την οικουμενην  tēn oikoumenēn). “The inhabited earth.” See Acts 17:6.

Let worship (προσκυνησατωσαν  proskunēsatōsan). Imperative first aorist active third plural of προσκυνεω  proskuneō here in the full sense of worship, not mere reverence or courtesy. This quotation is from the lxx of Deut 32:43, but is not in the Hebrew, though most of the lxx MSS. (except F) have υιοι τεου  huioi theou but the substance does occur also in Psalm 97:7 with οι αγγελοι αυτου  hoi aggeloi autou f0)."

Psalm 97:7 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
7 All worshipers of images are put to shame,
    who make their boast in worthless idols;
all gods bow down before him.

Deut 32:43 LXX, Rejoice, ye heavens, with him, and let all the angels of God worship him; rejoice ye Gentiles, with his people, and let all the sons of God strengthen themselves in him; for he will avenge the blood of his sons, and he will render vengeance, and recompense justice to his enemies, and will reward them that hate him; and the Lord shall purge the land of his people.

KJV  8. But unto the Son he says, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.

NWT 8. But with reference to the Son: 'God is your throne forever and ever, and [the] scepter of your kingdom is the scepter of uprightness.

Does "uprightness"  imply something earned rather than part of Jesus's nature?

"

Verse 7
Of the angels (προς τους αγγελους — pros tous aggelous). “With reference to” (προς — pros) as in Luke 20:9. So “of the Son” in Hebrews 1:8. Note μεν — men here and δε — de in Hebrews 1:8 in carefully balanced contrast. The quotation is from Psalm 104:4.

Winds (πνευματα — pneumata). “Spirits” the word also means. The meaning (note article with αγγελους — aggelous not with πνευματα — pneumata) apparently is one that can reduce angels to the elemental forces of wind and fire (Moffatt).

A flame of fire (πυρος πλογα — puros phloga). Predicate accusative of πλοχ — phlox old word, in N.T. only here and Luke 16:24. Lunemann holds that the Hebrew here is wrongly rendered and means that God makes the wind his messengers (not angels) and flaming fire his servants. That is all true, but that is not the point of this passage. Preachers also are sometimes like a wind-storm or a fire.

Verse 8
O God (ο τεος — ho theos). This quotation (the fifth) is from Psalm 45:7. A Hebrew nuptial ode (επιταλαμιυμ — epithalamium) for a king treated here as Messianic. It is not certain whether ο τεος — ho theos is here the vocative (address with the nominative form as in John 20:28 with the Messiah termed τεος — theos as is possible, John 1:18) or ο τεος — ho theos is nominative (subject or predicate) with εστιν — estin (is) understood: “God is thy throne” or “Thy throne is God.” Either makes good sense.

Sceptre (ραβδος — rabdos). Old word for walking-stick, staff (Hebrews 11:21)."

Psalm 45:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

KJV 10. And, you, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands:

NWT  10. And: 'You at [the] beginning, O Lord, laid the foundations of the earth itself, and the heavens are [the] works of your hands.

There wording is trying to imply that God the Father and not The Son of God laid the foundations of the earth.   They like these grammar games like adding the word [other] to Col 1:15-18 to imply that the Son of God is a created being.

Verse 10

Lord (Κυριε  Kurie). In the lxx, not in the Hebrew. Quotation (the sixth) from Psalm 102:26-28 through Hebrews 1:10-12. Note emphatic position of συ  su here at the beginning as in Hebrews 1:11-12 (συ δε  su de). This Messianic Psalm pictures the Son in his Creative work and in his final triumph.

Hast laid the foundation (ετεμελιωσας  ethemeliōsas). First aorist active of τεμελιοω  themelioō old verb from τεμελιος  themelios (foundation) for which see Colossians 1:23.

KJV  13. But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?

NWT  13. But with reference to which one of the angels has he ever said: 'Sit at my right hand, until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet'?

"Verse 13

Hath he said (ειρηκεν  eirēken). Perfect active common use of the perfect for permanent record. This seventh quotation is proof of the Son‘s superiority as the Son of God (his deity) to angels and is from Psalm 110:1, a Messianic Psalm frequently quoted in Hebrews.

Sit thou (κατου  kathou). Second person singular imperative middle of κατημαι  kathēmai to sit, for the longer form κατησο  kathēso as in Matthew 22:44; James 2:3.

On my right hand (εκ δεχιων μου  ek dexiōn mou). “From my right.” See Hebrews 1:3 for εν δεχιαι  en dexiāi “at the right hand.”

Till I make (εως αν τω  heōs an thō). Indefinite temporal clause about the future with εως  heōs and the second aorist active subjunctive of τιτημι  tithēmi with αν  an (often not used), a regular and common idiom. Quoted also in Luke 20:43. For the pleonasm in υποδιον  hupodion and των ποδων  tōn podōn (objective genitive) see Matthew 5:35."

Colossians 1:15-18 King James Version (KJV)

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Since he is before all things created, that means The Son of God is not a created being.

New World Translation,

Col 1

15. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;

16. because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him.

17. Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist,

The so-called translation community of the Watchtower purposely and dishonestly adds the word [other] to drastically pervert the meaning of the text.

Verse 15

The image (εικων  eikōn). In predicate and no article. On εικων  eikōn see 2 Corinthians 4:4; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Romans 8:29; Colossians 3:10. Jesus is the very stamp of God the Father as he was before the Incarnation (John 17:5) and is now (Philemon 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:3).

Of the invisible God (του τεου του αορατου  tou theou tou aoratou). But the one who sees Jesus has seen God (John 14:9). See this verbal adjective (α  a privative and οραω  horaō) in Romans 1:20.

The first born (πρωτοτοκος  prōtotokos). Predicate adjective again and anarthrous. This passage is parallel to the Λογος  Logos passage in John 1:1-18 and to Hebrews 1:1-4 as well as Philemon 2:5-11 in which these three writers (John, author of Hebrews, Paul) give the high conception of the Person of Christ (both Son of God and Son of Man) found also in the Synoptic Gospels and even in Q (the Father, the Son). This word (lxx and N.T.) can no longer be considered purely “Biblical” (Thayer), since it is found In inscriptions (Deissmann, Light, etc., p. 91) and in the papyri (Moulton and Milligan, Vocabulary, etc.). See it already in Luke 2:7 and Aleph for Matthew 1:25; Romans 8:29. The use of this word does not show what Arius argued that Paul regarded Christ as a creature like “all creation” (πασης κτισεως  pāsēs ktiseōs by metonomy the act regarded as result). It is rather the comparative (superlative) force of πρωτος  prōtos that is used (first-born of all creation) as in Colossians 1:18; Romans 8:29; Hebrews 1:6; Hebrews 12:23; Revelation 1:5. Paul is here refuting the Gnostics who pictured Christ as one of the aeons by placing him before “all creation” (angels and men). Like εικων  eikōn we find πρωτοτοκος  prōtotokos in the Alexandrian vocabulary of the Λογος  Logos teaching (Philo) as well as in the lxx. Paul takes both words to help express the deity of Jesus Christ in his relation to the Father as εικων  eikōn (Image) and to the universe as πρωτοτοκος  prōtotokos (First-born).

Verse 16

All things (τα παντα  ta panta). The universe as in Romans 11:35, a well-known philosophical phrase. It is repeated at the end of the verse.

In him were created (εν αυτωι εκτιστη  en autōi ektisthē). Paul now gives the reason (οτι  hoti for) for the primacy of Christ in the work of creation (Colossians 1:16 f.). It is the constative aorist passive indicative εκτιστη  ektisthē (from κτιζω  ktizō old verb, to found, to create (Romans 1:25). This central activity of Christ in the work of creation is presented also in John 1:3; Hebrews 1:2 and is a complete denial of the Gnostic philosophy. The whole of creative activity is summed up in Christ including the angels in heaven and everything on earth. God wrought through “the Son of his love.” All earthly dignities are included.

Have been created (εκτισται  ektistai). Perfect passive indicative of κτιζω  ktizō “stand created,” “remain created.” The permanence of the universe rests, then, on Christ far more than on gravity. It is a Christo-centric universe.

Through him (δι αυτου  di' autou). As the intermediate and sustaining agent. He had already used εν αυτωι  en autōi (in him) as the sphere of activity.

And unto him (και εις αυτον  kai eis auton). This is the only remaining step to take and Paul takes it (1 Corinthians 15:28) See note on Ephesians 1:10 for similar use of εν αυτωι  en autōi of Christ and in Colossians 1:19, Colossians 1:20 again we have εν αυτωι δι αυτου εις αυτον  en autōiclass="normal greek">δι ον  di' autouclass="normal greek">δι ου  eis auton used of Christ. See note on Hebrews 2:10 for τα παντα  di' hon (because of whom) and εχ αυτου και δι αυτου και εις αυτον τα παντα  di' hou (by means of whom) applied to God concerning the universe (εχ  ta panta). In Romans 11:35 we find εν  ex autou kai di' autou kai eis auton ta panta referring to God. But Paul does not use δια  ex in this connection of Christ, but only εις  en εχ  dia and δια  eis See the same distinction preserved in 1 Corinthians 8:6 (ex of God, dia of Christ).

Verse 17

Before all things (προ παντων  pro pantōn). Προ  Pro with the ablative case. This phrase makes Paul‘s meaning plain. The precedence of Christ in time and the preeminence as Creator are both stated sharply. See the claim of Jesus to eternal timeless existence in John 8:58; John 17:5. See also Revelation 22:13 where Christ calls himself the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning (αρχη  archē) and the End (τελος  telos). Paul states it also in 2 Corinthians 8:9; Philemon 2:6.

Consist (συνεστηκεν  sunestēken). Perfect active indicative (intransitive) of συνιστημι  sunistēmi old verb, to place together and here to cohere, to hold together. The word repeats the statements in Colossians 1:16, especially that in the form εκτισται  ektistai Christ is the controlling and unifying force in nature. The Gnostic philosophy that matter is evil and was created by a remote aeon is thus swept away. The Son of God‘s love is the Creator and the Sustainer of the universe which is not evil.

Verse 18

The head of the body (η κεπαλη του σωματος  hē kephalē tou sōmatos). Jesus is first also in the spiritual realm as he is in nature (Colossians 1:18-20). Paul is fond of the metaphor of the body (σωμα  sōma) for believers of which body Christ is the head (κεπαλη  kephalē) as seen already in 1 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Corinthians 12:12, 1 Corinthians 12:27; Romans 12:5. See further Colossians 1:24: Colossians 2:19; Ephesians 1:22.; Ephesians 4:2, Ephesians 4:15; Ephesians 5:30.

The church (της εκκλησιας  tēs ekklēsias) Genitive case in explanatory apposition with του σωματος  tou sōmatos This is the general sense of εκκλησια  ekklēsia not of a local body, assembly, or organization. Here the contrast is between the realm of nature (τα παντα  ta panta) in Colossians 1:15-17 and the realm of spirit or grace in Colossians 1:18-20. A like general sense of εκκλησια  ekklēsia occurs in Ephesians 1:22.; Ephesians 5:24-32; Hebrews 12:23. In Ephesians 2:11-22 Paul uses various figures for the kingdom of Christ (commonwealth πολιτεια  politeia Colossians 1:12, one new man εις ενα καινον αντρωπον  eis hena kainon anthrōpon Colossians 1:15, one body εν ενι σωματι  en heni sōmati Colossians 1:16, family of God οικειοι του τεου  oikeioi tou theou Colossians 1:19, building or temple οικοδομη  oikodomē and ναος  naos Colossians 1:20-22).

Who (ος  hos). Causal use of the relative, “in that he is.”

The beginning (η αρχη  hē archē). It is uncertain if the article (η  hē) is genuine. It is absolute without it. Christ has priority in time and in power. See note on Revelation 3:14 for his relation as αρχη  archē to creation and 1 Corinthians 15:20, 1 Corinthians 15:23 for απαρχη  aparchē used of Christ and the resurrection and Acts 3:14 for αρχηγος  archēgos used of him as the author of life and Hebrews 2:10 of Jesus and salvation and Hebrews 12:2 of Jesus as the pioneer of faith.

That in all things he might have the preeminence (ινα γενηται εν πασιν αυτος πρωτευων  hina genētai en pāsin autos prōteuōn). Purpose clause with ινα  hina and the second aorist middle subjunctive of γινομαι  ginomai “that he himself in all things (material and spiritual) may come to (γενηται  genētai not ηι  ēi be) hold the first place” (πρωτευων  prōteuōn present active participle of πρωτευω  prōteuō old verb, to hold the first place, here only in the N.T.). Christ is first with Paul in time and in rank. See note on Revelation 1:5 for this same use of πρωτοτοκος  prōtotokos with των νεκρων  tōn nekrōn (the dead).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
