I don't doubt that it's not possible for them to force churches to marry them for now, but I also have no doubt in my mind that they will push to alter that, as well. Why? On the news a few nights ago there was a gay man saying (this is a paraphrase; I can't remember everything exactly, and I couldn't find it on the broadcaster's website): "it's not right that people can still discriminate against us by refusing to marry a couple because they're homosexual. I will, absolutely, be fighting anyone who does try to deny us that right by not letting us use their churches."

This is just one step towards the church losing its right to morality.

Why should the pastors of the church marry those couples? Don't they have a right to say no??? Then, all they have to do is say they don't feel comfortable marrying those two people. All the churches i've gone too have also made it mandatory to go through Christian counseling with the pastor. Now, if i knew i was doing something in sin, why would I sit through CHRISTIAN counseling? :) Just my thoughts on that one!!!! :) God bless ya'lls!

The christian counceling is true. I feel that Pators have every right to say "I am sorry but you are living in sin and I don't feel comfortable marrying you." Then the gay couple will keep trying to find a Pastor that will marry them. I think all marriages should have counceling before hand. It could help in the long run. My sister got married in her church but it is a church made up of about 99% homosexuals.

Well i think it's a good thing that homosexuals are going to church. as long as the church preaches what is right and true according to the Bible. I just think it's sad that we've even come to this discussion in this nation!! What happened to building the nation on the truth of the Bible? :)

There are way too many people in this world with too many ideas on how life should be lived. Not to mention the fact that there are way too many unbelievers. My sister being gay doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the fact that she got married and that she claims to be a Christian. I am not one to question someone's faith but, she knowingly knows that it is a sin to live the sin. I don't know.

By the church closing its doors to all marriage ceremonies in protest of gays does two things:

1)  It'll make people go somewhere else to get married and

2)  It gives Gays one more reason to hate God...

I wonder what would happen, instead, if a Pastor (or any Christian) were to express to them how much Jesus loves them and will be there for any of their needs should they just accept Him as their Lord and Saviour...

....and then let The Holy Spirit gently guide them away from their sinful lifestyle as He did with us, instead of ramming Scripture down their throats, slamming doors in their faces, and telling them how wicked they are...

Just a thought.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Think about something. Jesus told the disciples to go preach in certain towns......

Luke 10:8"When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you. 9Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.' 10But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, 11'Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.' 12I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.

It is as though these towns only had 1 chance...........also supose a gay couple was at church one day when God killed Ananias and Spphira (Acts 5:1-11) for lying.............or there when the letter was read about the man being married to his Fathers wife. (1Cor 5th chapter)...........and there when Paul talked about the wrath of God..(Romans 1:18-32)

It's sounds like you have alot of love in your heart, but we must tell the truth of God's Word, God will do the rest. Romans 9:18"Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden."

But we must love so much that we tell them the truth :emot-highfive:

A church, legally, can reject to marry anyone they want. There is no need to stop marriages as it will have no bearing upon the law. The best thing Canadians could do right now is to actively share the gospel with their neighbors. Don't follow the American idea of Christianity and spread it via the courts. Take it to the streets because our time for doing this in the western culture is about to close. It will not be long before Christians begin to be silenced in America or Canada through hate speech laws.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That is right. There is no law saying a church must marry you. I know the church I use to go to the pastor refused to marry people who were as the bible says unequally yoked. The pastor I have now is the same way. They also have a right not to marry gays.

i think people's biggest problem is that they're way to busy beating the Bible over the gay's heads that they don't want to love the person. i think we need to SHOW them what the Word says instead of beating them upside the head with it. We need to show them more love than ever before, especially now. There's a lot of them out there that are vulnerable. We just need to find the right approach to them.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
