A modern term used today is messenger....which also lines up with scripture.

I have 1 question: occult mysticism is real...a form of witchcraft...powered by a spirit of divination, spirit of deception,  spirit of seduction.

Would our ABBA, FATHER leave the powers of darkness alone to do it's work without having His Powers operating to defeat them?

A prophet is subject to a prophet...sometimes only a prophet can recognize a false prophet....false prophets are very religious and use the Word prolifically....it is recognizing the subtle twists and changes that is missed....there are false prophets that are easily identified....it is the ones who are deceived in their own heart that we must guard against.

These could be people you know and consider to be righteous men/women of God. You trust them without testing what they say.

That is why we test every prophesy to know what spirit is operating.

Some prophets of today do a GREAT job of "seeing," but then try to prophecy money from the listener's pockets to their pockets. They begin SEEING people give hundreds or thousands. Only a false prophet tries to use his gift for financial gain.

This is exactly what God is doing...Awakening those who have fallen asleep and stirring up the gifts again.

The apostasy is already on the face of the earth and God is pouring out His Spirit upon All flesh and bringing believers into the unity of one faith....He is pouring out His Fire and Glory anointing of His Spirit and as it was on Pentecost so will it be today.

He is perfecting His saints and equipping them and preparing them to gather the harvest.

Right on! Now if the masses in the church would quit skipping over Acts 1 and 2.....

That is why we test every prophesy to know what spirit is operating.

We are dealing with a supernatural enemy who can mimic everything and everyone to the point where many can be, and are deceived.  I think we have to be extra careful and vigilant about anything to do with the prophetic.  The thing about a counterfeit is that it is so very close to the genuine that it is easy to be fooled.   It is not only happening in Christian circles, but Youtube is full of scam-baiting sites that show how widespread internet scamming is and that hundreds of thousands of dollars is being scammed out of unwary people in the US and the UK.  These scammers come across as genuine Microsoft technicians willing to fix problems in our computers, and have very "kosher" looking websites to fool people.

One of the worst "Christian" scams is the devil appearing in the form of Jesus, or angels, telling the victim that they are someone special and God has a special revelation for them that is not disclosed to "ordinary" Christians.   The truth is that Jesus never appears in person to anyone.  It is always the devil in disguise, but the appearance is so convincing that people really think they have had a visitation from Jesus Himself.  the real Jesus is in heaven at the throne of God and will not appear in person until He comes again.

Another  "Christian" scam is people visiting heaven, either through a near death experience or in a vision.  If the details of each are studied, we see that they are contradictory, which give an important clue that it is fake.   The fact is, that when a person goes to heaven, they never come back.   Also, Paul describes a person going to the third heaven, but was not permitted to disclose what he saw and heard.  Yet these ones who have purported to have visited heaven, go all around describing what they saw, and they make a living out of it through people's curiosity.   All these visitations are the devil's scams to make the person think they are special and are better than others.    Of course, the devil can produce facsimiles of one's loved ones and friends, because he knows all about them.

This is the same as a seance scam where the medium produces the voice of a loved one who has died and is communicating "from the other side".  The devil knows how to do that, producing the actual voice of the loved one and many details that are true, because the devil knows about them already.

So, in the same vein, we have "prophets" going around advertising themselves as "seers", able to predict all sorts of things about people, and exposing sin, which both God and the devil know about, but the difference is that God has forgiven and forgotten the sins, while the devil brings them up again to sow doubt, confusion and condemnation.

There is no such office as the Prophet in the New Testament.  The Prophet in the New Testament is one of the five fold ministries;  but because of the many divisions in the body of Christ, and that the New Testament Prophet has to be recognised by the whole body of Christ, that ministry is impossible in these days.  So anyone purporting to have the office of Prophet, going around giving prophecies "to the nation" and for the church is a fake, and his prophecies are dreamed up in his own head.

All of those points are valid and confirm why Christian's must test the spirit to know.

We have a powerful written Word of God...inspired by the Holy Spirit which we study and learn from and ironically nearly the entire book is prophesy....Revelation is a prophetic vision. And yet many want to claim prophesy/visions are not for today. IMHO if the Word of God still being taught, it is still for today.

Prophesy not yet fulfilled indicates it is still around.

The Holy Spirit is still moving and manifesting through God's vessels.

God doesn't limit us to what we can do by His Spirit....We limit Him.

The first recorded people who made 'the light' of the Holy Spirit above the written Scriptures were the Quakers (Society of Friends).  So, depending on the "inner light" of the Spirit is not new.

I have been "reading" the Puritan divine John Owen on my iPad's very British verbal dictation software.  Great for listening last thing at night.   He said something very interesting that I had not seen before.  He said that the written Scriptures are infallible, but our faith is fallible.   I have just started to listen to what he says about the Holy Spirit, and he doesn't encourage people getting "new revelation" that is not already revealed in the Scriptures.  I am looking forward to hearing more of what he says about it.

Jeremiah 23:
17 They keep saying to those who despise Me, ‘The LORD says that you will have peace,’ and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, ‘No harm will come to you.’ 18 But which of them has stood in the council of the LORD to see and hear His word? Who has given heed to His word and obeyed it?

Unfortunately NAR seems to be a 'new' take on the five ministries. I find them questionable sometimes.

If you have studied "the Divine Council" and have a Deut 32 worldview, there is less chance you might be taken in by charlatans.

One perhaps needs to understand the territorial spirits that God put over the nations after the Babel disobedience when He divorced the nations and chose for Himself a nation - Israel. These lesser sons of God performed dismally and He indicted them in Psalm 82. "..you will die like men."

There is much going on in the supernatural that few seem to be aware of. The Cross removed their mandate over the nations and the Pentecost outpouring sought to bring the nations back to God. There is opposition from these ex-sons of The Most High and they will not give up without a fight. Yeshua/Jesus and His Spirit is about equipping God's Holy Ones (the believers) to take back that which was lost for the Lord's Glory. It is a fight in the heavenlies and we need to understand what was meant by, "He disarmed the principalities and powers" etc., and "we wrestle not against flesh.."

Although the battle is in the heavenlies, in us as individuals it is often in our minds too. We might need to get over ourselves and what we think we know and LISTEN to the Lord Most High.

Sure, beware false prophets and teachers, but do not be afraid of the GIFTS just because evil has infiltrated our beliefs and sought to turn people away from spiritual gifts. The evil that wants to thwart us knows well the idea, "if you cannot beat them then join them".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
