I am pretty much in agreement with the gist of the article, that Babylon isn't a particular geographical location, but a city of the world.

She is the mother of all harlots.

She is not only institutionalized religion. She is also the fantasy of vanity we live in.

She is everything not Jesus. That is why in Revealtion 14 the 2 witness are called virgins to Christ. They are not whoring around with mystery babylon.

you mentioned the two witnesses and i was reminded of a passage refering to prophets not to be killed outside of jerusalem.

there are many ideas of who the two witnesses are, but if they are real folk and testify against this abomination in the future it must be in jerusalem.(they possess prophet like powers of which have been done before).

institutionalized religion will bring god to our level (gay bishop running a church) and like dear jesus and organised religion in his day,so shall

be our lot when this abomination pursues those who love jesus.

there will come a time when prophecy will appear much more clearly,like jerimiahs prophecys were to daniel.

You'll find her shouting her message of unbridled sex in film, on television, and over the Internet as she guides their sensual work. It's not hard to imagine a regional prophetic snapshot of her riding a multi-headed MGM lion with the names of the major studios written on its heads.

          The deepest of Mystery Babylon's mysteries is her secret manipulation. Today her gratuitous sex scenes on premium channels no longer offend the desynthesized believer. Pastors and layity sturggle with clandestine Internet pornography.

This explanation/interpretation makes more sense to me than any other I've heard!

And I'm glad someone else is noting the dangers of Hollywood's infiltration on the world while everyone else is looking to the political arena for the End Times evil.

This is just my opinion but look closely at Revelation chapters 17 through 18, regarding Mystery Babylon. What exactly was Babylon? It was a place with high ideals of itself. It was a place full of people of diverse languages and of many nations. It was a place of people of diverse religions and beliefs. It was a place that had much luxury to offer to many other nations. It was a proud place full of blasphemies against the Lord. Now what does the word "mystery" mean? It means that it is a place which could not be named at the time that this vision was seen. That means it was a place not named as of yet. Now look at our world. Almost all of the nations on earth are of ancient origin, except one.......AMERICA! As much as I am a lover of this country and what it once stood for, America is the only place which would fit the discription of Mystery Babylon. Revelation chapters 17 & 18 describe a particular nation which all the other nations look at in unbelief at its utter destruction. It is not the spirit found in many cities, because many of the cities are the ones mentioned sitting back and watching Mystery Babylon be destroyed. America is the only nation with more of an abundance of luxuries to offer all other nations. Revelation 18:11-And the Merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:/ Revelation 18:7 - How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. - Remember before Septermber 11th how we saw ourselves....we were untouchable, full of pride, full of arrogance...we thought it could never happen! -"How much she hath glorified herself" Revelation 18:3 - For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.....What Nation on the Earth housed the World "Trade" Center?!!!!! And most importantly is Revelation 17:15 - And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples,and multitudes, and nations,and tongues. Now tell me, what nation on earth fits that description to a "T" ? Revelation 18: 9 - And kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, - Sound Familiar. Now although September 11th isn't this final act.....it is just a taste. We "America The Beautiful" have taken God out of every institution in this Nation. Now every nation mentioned in the Bible who did this was always destroyed by God! Revelation 17: 16-18 - And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh,and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest is the great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. Now what nation currently seems to have power over all other nations? And which nation because of its pride and arrogance is hated among all nations......AMERICA!

Messenger, I pretty much agree with you on this one, but I would also extend the boundaries of 'America' beyond the physical boundaries and look as America as an dominant world empire, much the way Great Britain used to be when it could be said that the sun never sets on the British Empire.

Also important to look at the modern day merchants--the corporations.
