I know I asked this somewhere before but isn't Revelations a symbolic book? If so aren't somethings symbolic. For example, the woman you've equated to Israel, I equated to a church because the book is prophetic.

Jeremiah 6:2;Isaiah 51:16; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:23-27

So if we are his people(church) spoken of in Rev, then it would make the people standing in the last days us. JMOP.

I found this article on Google.Com. I know nothing of the group who published it (see end of article), but it appears to be right on the money to me, not just from a pre-trib/post-trib argument, but about Christians in our society in general. This supports what the Lord has been showing me these past 8 months. It is long, but worth the read:

PRE-TRIB RAPTURE---FACT OR FABLE?

Well, I haven't read the entire article, but it starts out with 3 passage that are allegedly "proof texts," yet they are not taken in context. I'll explain what I mean.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables@ (2 Tim. 4:3-4).

This is a true statement, but I doubt Paul had the Rapture in mind when he penned it.

Jesus prayed to the Father, "My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one" (Jn. 17:15).

The context of this does not lend itself to forbidding God to do what Paul mentions in 1 Thes 4, else we have a contradiction in the Bible.

Concerning the endtime Jesus said, "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and be put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of Me" (Mt. 24:9).

Jesus is speaking to Jews here. How do we know? Because they are handed over to synagogues, as the parallel account in Luke says.

Luk 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Jesus is speaking to Jews here. Gentiles would not be delivered up to synagogues. Another hint that we have about this is the fact that Jesus mentions the Sabbath.

Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

The warning of the Sabbath shows that this is a warning for the children of Israel, whom God has established the covenant of the Sabbath with.

The pre-trib view is the only view that is consistent with God's character, examples of past judgment, and the promise of Jesus that believers could escape the GT (Luke 21:36; Rev 3:10).

Revelation 2:7

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 2:11

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 2:17

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 2:29

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3:6

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3:13

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3:22

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Then, while the trubulation is going on!!!

Hi Trinity,

So who is going to preach to the Jews if the believers are all taken out.

The 144,000, plus all of the people who come to faith during the GT.

Well, I see a lot of smily faces and friendly handshakes going on, so it looks like everyone is still playing nice. I'm glad we can have this discussion without mud throwing. It makes it so much more pleasant to read. Thanks a bunch!! :)

You are so right sue! I wish that every post on this board would see the outcome of peaceable, fruitful discussions . Unfortunately, many people's passions take over and we often forget to excercise fruits of the Spirit. We should be slow to speak, slow to wrath, not the other way around. I am glad to have such a debate with you fine people, and pray that we will become as "one mind" like the original Apostles. Sue, God bless you for your insight here.

Michael.

I'm so suprised (and happy) this has remained peaceful.

If I may, I want to ask if we'll ever know with certainty (before the event) which will occur. I ask this because I know a very respected man who holds three doctorates (biblical languages, theology, ministry) who believes in a Pre-Tribulation rapture...yet I know of another man that holds the exact same qualifications who believes in a Post-Tribulation rapture.

I mean, both hold the same qualification but come to different conclusions....so I have to wonder if we'll ever know until it happens.

You know, no matter how many discussions we have on this topic, it really comes down to one thing to me - are you ready? Are you ready to suffer for Christ, if need be? Are you ready to stand alone? Are you willing to accept whatever the Lord decides to do?

No one of us can say with any certainty that it is going to go one way or another, and perhaps that was God's plan all along, so that we would trust in him and not in man or in our own resources and our own intellect. But, the main thing I see consistent throughout scripture is that we need to be ready and watching and waiting so that we are not taken by surprise when he comes.

I have just one simple little question I'd like to ask and I think I've asked it before with no response, and that is: Why is it so important to convince people of the pre-trib rapture? Let's continue to keep this thread friendly. I just don't understand why it is so important to convince people they will not have to go through the tribulation. Would it not be better to prepare them to suffer for Christ and to stand up for our Lord and then if the Lord comes and snatches us away and we don't have to suffer through the tribulation - hallelujah! Just a thought here.

Ok, continue....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
