The new covenant is not the same as the new testament. The new testament was the death of Christ to forgive Israel the sins under the first testament (Hebrews 9:15). The mystery revealed by Paul revealed the new testament shed blood was applied for our forgiveness as well. The new covenant is future and will be made when Christ returns to establish his kingdom. The new covenant will forgive the iniquity of Israel and cause them to keep his law in the kingdom. The Holy Spirit will be given to the remnant of Israel to give them power to go through the tribulation and enter the kingdom on earth; the power, not the new covenant, is given to the remnant for this purpose.

The Holy Spirit will give the believing remnant of Israel power to go through the tribulation period and be able to enter into the kingdom on earth when Christ returns.

In the thousand year kingdom on earth, God will make the promised new covenant with Israel and give his spirit to the remnant.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy Ghost will be sent (John 16:7) to teach the remnant in the tribulation.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Jesus was speaking of the power of the Holy Ghost which would come onto the disciples; the disciples were to preach his name among the nations for the remission of sins during the tribulation.

The Holy Ghost was given to the remnant at Pentecost in Acts 2; although postponed, at that time, the tribulation was at hand, and the remnant was receiving power for the tribulation.

In the kingdom on earth, the new covenant, will, by his spirit, cause Israel to keep the commandments according to Ezekiel 36:27.

This post is utter confusion.  The New Covenant and New Testament are one and the same.

The blood of Christ was shed for the elect Jews and Gentiles.  God has made, out of Jews and Gentiles, one new man (the body of Christ); from then on, everyone who is saved is in the one new man.

What, if any, correlation do you think exists between Ezekiel 36:27 and Joel 2:28-29?

I like this question.

Peter in Acts 2 stated that Pentecost was the fulfilling of Joel 2:28-29. The Davidic earthly kingdom was being offered to Israel at that time. If they had received Jesus as Messiah, the Son of God, they would have entered into the tribulation period to separate the believing Jews from the unbelieving, and would have been purified for the kingdom. In the kingdom, the new covenant would forgive their iniquity, reign with Christ over the Gentile nations who entered the kingdom, bring them into the land, and make them a light to bring the Gentiles to God.

The new testament is the basis for the new covenant. God will forgive the iniquities of Israel based on the blood of Christ shed for the new testament. A testament is only in force upon the death of the testator, a covenant does not require death.

Is a distinction between the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost being asserted?

No, they are one and the same, only the operation of the Spirit. The Spirit will give Israel power in the tribulation. The new covenant gives Israel the spirit to cause them to keep his law.

THIS covenant (the New Covenant) DID require the shedding of blood and death on the cross.  That is why the Lord Jesus Christ came - to save his people from their sins; and he accomplished this by his shed blood and death on the cross.  The New Covenant came into force at Pentecost, when the one new man (the body of Christ) was created from the believing Jews and Gentiles.

The body of Christ was a mystery, not revealed until Jesus revealed it to Paul. The body of Christ was not being formed in Acts 2....Peter said prophecy was being fulfilled as found in Joel 2.

Hebrews 9:15 says the blood of the new testament, not the new covenant, was shed for the redemption of Israel.

Whoa! I like the appeal to Acts 2 but Peter says the Davidic throne is the resurrection (not an earthly kingdom) and..... he is speaking to Israel when he says that!

Acts 2:30 is saying Jesus was raised to sit on the throne of David in the earthly kingdom. He will reign from Jerusalem over the Gentile nations.

Now I asked about Ezekiel and Joel, not Joel and Acts. If your response is to be understood to say there is a parallel or correlation between Ezekiel and Joel, or they are for all intents and purposes the same prophesy spoken in different words by two prophets then I completely agree.

Ezekiel 36:27 is the new covenant which will be made in the kingdom when Christ returns. Joel 2 speaks of the day of the Lord which will result in the return of Christ to establish the kingdom. Acts 2 and Joel 2:28-29 was the pouring out of the Spirit to give Israel power to witness in the tribulation and be able to enter the kingdom.....this was postponed until the future as a result of their rejection.

Hmm well dough. .. your leaving out verses. Behold the lamb of God that takes away the sin (SIN) of the ? WORLD! For God so loved the world. And how can one miss in the OT/Torah where Israel WAS to take His word to the world. And.. who do you think all those STARS are? Not just Israel. Amen.. Now you brothers, As Issac was we ARE the children of promise!

This is just the verse that popped in my head.. no clue if it means anything here

What is man that You are mindful of him,And the son of man that You visit[a] him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels,And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands. You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen—Even the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea, That pass through the paths of the seas.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
