About the time I was ending my college career and also a serious sinning career, I think I pretty much felt this same way. While I didn't have worms, I spent a lot of time by myself out camping so I might have had fleas.... I know I had chiggers :emot-highfive:

I had a Beaver Cleaver childhood, but those years away from the Lord during late highschool and college pretty much left me as a stray with no where to go. Too proud to go home and too young to die..... and so... soooo alone, and at only 23.

Main diffeence for me was that my owner (the Lord) didn't put me out beside the road, I had run off all on my own....

I think I really understand this poem from first hand experience.....

Oh, man Other One...I KNOW how you feel. I really do. But I DIDN'T have a happy homelife. Mine was very dysfunctional.

My mother abandoned my father and I and left us alone. I have always felt like a stray. I've never felt like I fit in anywhere.

My heart :emot-highfive: goes out to people and pets who have been forsaken.

Most of my pets have always come from the Humane Society. (Except my two capuchin monkeys, of course!) Honestly, adult cats make the best adopted pets. (I haven't lived where I could have a dog yet.) My cats were always grateful to have a place to call their own and more than enough love to comfort them.

I was living in Tennessee when I was walking through the woods and saw a man with a bag by a tree. It looked like he was hacking at the tree. When I got closer, I saw that it was a farmer who had a bag of kittens and was, well... you get the idea. It was horrible! I pushed him and grabbed the bag. There were only two kittens left but I took them home.

They were brother and sister. The boy liked to play rough and the girl was meek. He liked to sneak up and tackle her and she would go tumbling across the floor! I named them "Ruff and Tumble". They were my favorite pets of all time!

I've prayed several times to ask God if I could have pets again. His answer has always been, "It doesn't fit into the plans I have for you."

Keith, we have raised several cats and gotten several from the pound also. I personally think they are the best when you get them at 4 weeks old. Just barely old enough to wein and just old enough for the mothers to teach them to take care of themselves, but not enought time to teach them how to be cats.

My present pet does not know he is a cat. he thinks he is just a little people.

Buddy had been here at home for two weeks or so when this picture was taken. :whistling: and yes if you look close he does have my hand in his mouth.... we started play fighting from day one.

Now THAT'S a cute cat! Getting them young is a lot of fun, too. I'm a sucker for kitty mews and puppy breath. I would really like to have a munchkin kitty though. They are cats that stay the size of kittens. (2 inch legs) It wasn't healthy to breed them that way and they had a lot of health problems until the breed was "perfected." They're adorable though. Dog-wise, gimme a golden retriever any day!

Always remember it's BEST to have a dog and a cat, because a dog will adore you and a cat will ignore you...*(that keeps things fair and balanced)! :whistling:

Keith, I would have taken my own life a long time ago had it not been for Christ's intervention.

I relate to that. I would have taken my own life out of the sheer hopeless state that the world seems to be in today. I honestly don't know how people can possibly get through a single day without knowing Jesus. One half hour of tv news would be enough to do it for me. It's really scary to see the route society has taken. :whistling: The things that have become "acceptable" still shock me. I know people say that nothing should shock us today, but I'm still shocked by so much. I can't conceive how the world's thought processes have gone so far to justify some of the choices they make! :emot-dance:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
