Here is my interpretation of , , ,
"My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?"__The Lord Jesus

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Eternal Life."

The Lord Jesus was made a sin offering.
He bore the penalty of the "perish" of John 3:16

During the time the Lord Jesus hung on the Cross His Father temporarily forsook
His Son while His Son was bearing the penalty of sin for the world.

Here is the verse.

Note the caps.

"GOD MADE him who had no sin TO BE SIN for us, so that in him we might
become the righteousness of God"___2 Corinthians 5:21

The point?

God made Jesus who had no sin , , TO BE SIN for us.

So?

So while the Lord Jesus was "MADE , , TO BE SIN "
the Father temporarily "turned His back" so to speak, on His Son the Lord Jesus.

Something mysterious happened there on the Cross my friend, that forever
changed the world.

Isaiah 53 , , ,

"Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by
God, stricken by him, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord
has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to
the slaughter."___ Isaiah chapter 53

By the way, Isaiah 53 was written hundreds of years BEFORE the Lord Jesus was born.

So was Psalm 22...

Psa 22:1 To the choirmaster: according to The Doe of the Dawn. A Psalm of David.

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?

Feeling forsaken by God is one thing, being "Godforsaken" or in a "Godforsaken place" is another.

Although being forsaken by God for a time on the Cross, unswervingly Jesus did not forsake God but gave Himself over to Him, having done all that He could and having been faithful to finish the work He came to do. Now it was up to God to accept or reject His Son Jesus Christ's death as sufficient or otherwise.

Luk 23:46  And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

There is another aspect -- that the Lord Jesus said "MY God My God Why Have You Forsaken Me?"
to call attention to the Psalm 72 that He was quoting

Start quote.
"There is another possible reason for Jesus to cry out, “My God, my God,
why have you forsaken me?” It could be that Jesus’ intent in quoting
Psalm 22:1 was to point His hearers to that psalm. When they read
Psalm 22, they would no doubt see the many fulfilled prophecies
included in that song of David. Even while experiencing the agony
of the cross, Jesus was teaching the crowds and proving yet again
that He was the Messiah who fulfilled the Scripture."
End quote

My view is that both are true
{1} My Op
and
{2} The Psalm 72 reason.

This was to draw attention to Psalm 22. He was fulfilling prophecy. But it is true, as He became sin, the Father was distant, and could not look upon sin. The Son of Man was also crying out on his physical weakness, beaten, exhausted and dying.

This is an argument thay proves His deity. Only God can take on the sin of the world. You have to be omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent to absorb the sins of man for all time.

There is another important point to make regarding the Father forsaking the Lord Jesus while He was on the Cross.

That point is this: The forsaking, whatever it was, was only for a  short period of time. The Lord Jesus was on the Cross for about 6 hours and so He was re-united with the Father after that 6 hour period was over. "It is finished" said the Lord Jesus and later there was the , , ,

■ Resurrection , , ,

, , , and then the , , ,

■ Ascension {"I go to my Father"}

, , , and then the , , ,

■ Exaltation {Seated at the right hand of the Father}

So?

So full fellowship was fully restored after a very short period of time.

Best.

Since you have referenced Ps 72, we see how things are kept in line as follows:

Psa 72:7  In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

Psa 72:17  His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
