Are we all "speculating like mad"?

I am undecided about the flood being global or regional.

I reject the EUPHEMISM that Ham slept with Noah's wife because of the actions Shem and Japheth did to correct things, and the fact that Ham and Noah's wife were not killed for the action.

Why would their wives need to be killed, my friend?

Lev 20:11

And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Beats me.

Yep, we're on the same page. It's quite clear the apostles and Jews read and learned other books; and imply, reference and quote from those extra biblical tests. We all know these extra biblical texts are not divinely inspired, and are to be taken as such and not give them the weight of scripture.

Peter, Jude and others mention and quote from extra biblical texts and books. I cannot say for certainty what there reason was? To compare and relay an idea or thought about something they already knew well? To direct the reader to read for themselves to fill in missing blanks? The Jews certainly knew all about Greek mythology, demi-gods and Mesopotamian literature.

There is also a recent commentary on 1 Enoch which I have but it's not at my fingertips.  When the Canon was collected, some books were added and some were rejected for various reasons.

The safe position on Noah's Flood is to be undecided.  It avoids a lot of heated arguments.

I'm in agreement with you on most points but what follows is a brief compilation of scripture from the New Testament which either quotes from the Book of Enoch, or relates to content therein. Quotes from Enoch are derived from the Ethiopic translation. To save space and avoid a wall of text I'll list verses of scripture which are in agreement with the corresponding text from the Book of Enoch.

The last passage from Enoch speaks of Christ.

********************************
Jude 1:14-15
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Enoch 2:1-2
Behold, he comes with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon them, and destroy the wicked, and reprove all the carnal for everything which the sinful and ungodly have done, and committed against him.
*********************************

Enoch 9:2-3
The earth deprived of her children has cried even to the gate of heaven. And now to you, O you holy one of heaven, the souls of men complain, saying, Obtain Justice for us with the Most High. Then they said to their Lord, the King, You are Lord of lords, God of gods, King of kings The throne of your glory is for ever and ever, and for ever and ever is your name sanctified and glorified. You are blessed and glorified.

1 Timothy 6:15, Revelation 17:14, Revelation 19:16.
**********************************

Enoch 9:9-12
Thus has the whole earth been filled with blood and with iniquity. And now behold the souls of those who are dead, cry out. And complain even to the gate of heaven. Their groaning ascends; nor can they escape from the unrighteousness which is committed on earth. You know all things, before they exist.

Revelation 6:9-10, Romans 8:21-23
***********************************

Enoch 19:6-7
But you (Angels) from the beginning were made spiritual, possessing a life which is eternal, and not subject to death for ever. Therefore I made not wives for you, (The Angels) because, being spiritual, your dwelling is in heaven.

Matthew 22:29-30
**********************************

Enoch 46:1-3
There I beheld the Ancient of days, whose head was like white wool, and with him another, whose countenance resembled that of man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who he was; whence he was and why he accompanied the Ancient of days. He answered and said to me, This is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwelt; who will reveal all the treasures of that which is concealed: for the Lord of spirits has chosen him; and his portion has surpassed all before the Lord of spirits in everlasting uprightness.
**********************************

Food for thought concerning what is inspired and what isn't. :)

I've written elsewhere that the canon of our day is the result of purging by men, an outstanding example of this reality demonstrated in the shedding of apocryphal books from the King James Version in 1885. The Septuagint, vilified by some who insist it is a corrupt rendition of the Law and Prophets, is quoted approximately 340 times in New Testament scripture; compare this to 30 quotes from the Masoretic Text.

Does this mean the Masoretic Text is corrupt? Of course not. Nor does this mean that the canon we are familiar with today is lacking but rather, that much has been lost to us over time. The comparisons between the Book of Enoch and New Testament scripture I posted above are but a sample of many such parallels to be found. Remember this:

The scriptures to the Lord and the apostles were different than the scriptures we know today. The majority of the New Testament was circulated to early Christians in the centuries following the Lord's ascension to heaven but bear in mind that our ancestors in the faith were familiar with writings which are lost to us in the present day. Not all of these writings were regarded as scripture but nevertheless they were held in high esteem. :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
