Yep. JohnR7 tries to prove from a Snopes article that his contention that the virus is manmade and/or weaponised. When the Snopes article is read, it says quite the opposite. This is pointed out, and rather than accepting that there isn't any peer-reviewed evidence that the virus is manmade and/or weaponised, he then explains that this lack of evidence is evidence of a conspiracy to cover up.

Sadly, this isn't an unusual form of thinking: anything that demonstrates I'm wrong actual demonstrates how deep the conspiracy runs.

A decent depiction of conspiracy thinking. A lack of evidence is evidence to the conspiracy-minded, a validation of their beliefs because evidence which supports their beliefs has been suppressed/buried/covered up. It feeds into the delusion underpinning this house of cards.

At play is a certain fearful suspicion which waxes gross during uncertain times such as these. Anyone with a contrary viewpoint is pigeonholed as the deceived or worse, treated as an enemy. 

I tread lightly because nothing good is to be had from arguing against the beliefs of the conspiracy-minded. Opposition serves to strengthen their resolve and there are some who thrive in the midst of conflict. Conflict is the means of their self validation, unfortunately.

Pray for them, remembering that each one of us stands or falls by the Lord.

The article says: "it is factual to state that the Chinese government hid, downplayed, and misrepresented to its citizens and the world the threat posed by the novel coronavirus. It is speculative, however, to assert, as U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton did, that these actions were done to cover up a leak from a lab".

So your claim that the article "says quite the opposite" is not a true statement. They say this is speculative and has not been proven. Even though no one questions that they were working on that virus and the USA was paying for that research. 

Unproven does not mean proven wrong.

Actually I was trained for Vietnam back in the 70's. There was a lot of training at the time about the traps that Charlie sets for people and how we need to avoid those traps. I have a very good friend who lost a leg to a claymore mine. 

We had a foreign exchange student stay with us for a school year. He was actually from Wuhan. Also my wife worked in Hong Kong for 9 years so she has intimate understanding of the Chinese people and how they think. 

Our student told us that his father drove a truck with weapons from China to North Vietnam. As a christian we are to love our enemy and that is exactly what I did when I treated his son like my own son and we did what we could to help him get his education. 

My opinions are not based on "conspiracy thinking". They are based on the training I received from the USA Army, from my research and from what we have learned in general over the years. The puppets of communism puts up a good front but the intent of communism and socialism is that of the serpent to kill, steal and destroy. The question is, who is on their pay roll and who in American is their puppet.

Hello John, before I respond to your quote of my last post I thought I might address something which relates to your position in the topic. Since it does intersect with your response to me it's appropriate to point this out.

What you wrote above is an excellent example of a logical fallacy known as the argument from ignorance. It goes something like this:

The truth of a premise is based on the fact that it has yet to be proven false. (That's one side of the fallacy)

According to the logic stipulated in your argumentation, anything you claim is true even though there is no evidence to establish the veracity of your assertion. You argue from ignorance or appeal to ignorance.

Right now doctors don't know if their patients have the flu or the Corona virus.

The same nasopharyngeal swab can be used to check for multiple viruses which surface in the respiratory tract, missmuffet. That method of testing is also used to screen for different varieties of the flu. During the shutdown of the homeless shelter where I work, I was tested for COVID once per week. My doctor ordered additional screening of the swab for three different viruses other than COVID, including influenza types A and B. 

I was one of a few staff members who were negative for the virus. Everyone else I work with was positive and went into quarantine. I have my thoughts about that but it's nothing more than conjecture.

I'll share it anyway. I'm aware of research referenced in the peer-reviewed journal, Nature, which detailed work in Germany related to the pandemic. The researchers discovered healthy adults, negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus (which causes COVID-19), whose T lymphocytes responded to the virus. How does this translate?

Such a person is exposed to the virus and their body's immune system annihilates the viral invaders. 

I postulate that something similar also occurs with regard to the different viruses responsible for influenza. This year marks the first time in my life I decided to take a flu vaccination, not for myself but for the sake of those whom I serve. However, I've never had the flu in my life... not once. 

I remember the various flu epidemics over the years. I stood by while most people I knew were floored by it, with some becoming seriously ill. With that said, I am still vulnerable to the common cold. I catch a cold like everyone else.  

I'm of the opinion that I'm resistant to COVID-19 as well.
