Was Jesus a sinner?

Was he a sinner because he 'broke' the law?

Many here on these forums have accused him of such, like this:

Jesus violated the Sabbath Laws when he was here by his own admission so I think it is safe to say that He doesn't expect me to follow them either.

But is that true, and what are the ramifications if it is, Is your salvation intact, Is your salvation based on sin?

Let's use this thread where you can post anything from the Gospels that Jesus did, or said that you feel broke any of the Laws of the Torah. Let us start with the one mentioned above. Please list all the times Jesus broke the laws of Shabbat.

I especially would like to start with the one that he broke of his own admission.

Keep in mind I am not being your accuser, but I am standing up for my redeemer.

Note: Not to be devisive but I would rather that this stay a non-SDA thread please. :)

I don't understand.....you want us to put down all the wrong things Jesus did?

Jesus did no wrong.

He is Just and Holy.

Yomo , this thread is for those who have said that Jesus broke the law, or didn't follow certain laws or told others they didn't have to, such as what I quoted in my post above from another thread.

Jesus fulfilled the Law perfectly. There are instances when His approach differed from the Jews of His day...simply because He was living under the spirit of the Law and not the letter. At least that's my understanding. I agree with those posted...Jesus is SINLESS. Nothing less. Praise Jesus!!!

God bless.

Thank you HC, I coulnd't agree more, but there are those who don't understand certain things Jesus did or said, that actually appear that he did break the laws, or didn't abide by them or changed them, that is what this thread it for, to discuss these things. :)

Zayit, it should be interesting to see what some of the opponents of our viewpoints say. It will be a good opportunity for us to lead these people to the Saviour! Let's try to reach these people in love, and though we disagree with their thoughts, may we agree with Jesus Himself when He said to preach the Gospel to every creature. And EVERY means heretics too!!! Haha...anyway, let the controversy begin!

God bless.

Matthew 5

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

18 For truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one stroke or one pronunciation mark shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Matthew 12: 10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

11 And he said to them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Why it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

13 Then said he to the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

I think He is trying to clarify that God is flexible, hence, GRACE. :) To do good is to do the awill of God, even on the sabbath. :)

Just so you all will know Zayit posted this as a reply to me on another thread. She is trying to tell me that the sabbath law is still in effect today and I am in disagreement.

I am on my laptop right now and it will be difficult for me to post all from the other thread. I'll do so later.

BTW I did not say that Jesus was a sinner. I said that he worked on the sabbath when he was here. I don't think the sabbath law is stil in effect so I son't believe that He sinned. I find it interesting that Zayit wants to move the discussion here for it really pertains to the other thread. But I'm off work with a very hurt knee and literally don't have anything else to do..... but later when all the scanning of old family pictures is finished....

Zayit, after thinking it over and praying about it for a bit I have decided that I am not going to take part in this thread.

I have ask for input on this subject on more than one thread dealing with the sabbath subject and it should be addressed there. We need not get mixed up with hundreds of scriptures that all say that Jesus was sinless, so if you want to addresss this with me do it where it belongs in the other thread with the other subject.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
