Joh 13:34

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Why did he say it was new, if the rest would be nailed to the cross with him and no longer in effect?

I have a better question. Why have you made 4 topics dedicated to the same subject matter?

I have a better question.

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it, but I don't think that would make a good topic, you? :taped:

Why have you made 4 topics dedicated to the same subject matter?

Is there a limit? If so , I missed that in the rules. :whistling: This is a Christian forum, Jesus is spoken about here, isn't he? do all topics have to be only on Paul's letters or can we talk about the actual words of Messiah?

Because you could hate your neighbor and still keep the commandments. You were told to hate your enemies and he changed that also. Jesus made a new commandment that if followed you did not even have to consider the old law. And I might add, it is a bit more difficult to live by, but is better and if lived by would make this world a much better place to live.

It took the old law and changed it from the physical world to the spiritual world .

it gives us the ability to live with the Lord on a moment by moment level which makes the old law obsolete. One of his explanations is of adultery. In the old law you could not physically commit adultery, but under the new program He tells us not to even contemplate it in our minds or spirits. If you don't contemplate in in your spirit, you will never actually carry out the physical act of adultry..... that is the difference between the old law and the new that he gave us.

Should a person break the old law not if he is living the way Jesus told us to.

Very well said Other One, thank you.

I would also add that just as Jesus gave his disciples new names, based on Truth through the spirit, He also gave them new commandments. New editions that were being enforced by a new argument, not in the oldness of the letter, but in the newness of the spirit.

This is me paraphrasing Gill's Exposition, but it most accurately describes my belief.

And Zayit, I think the reason that Super Jew commented on the number of ACTIVE threads that you have started is because this makes it very difficult to know where to post. It breaks the conversation up with some people responding in one thread and others in another. I personally have looked at these threads this morning and thought "gee, Should I copy and paste my reply from that other thread?"

If there is a way to consolidate these I would highly suggest it.

We worship in spirit, not flesh. Our feeling's and emotion's are what God is looking at. He searches the heart. He knows who is real and who is not. He knows who the scribes and pharasees are of this age.

"Do onto others as you would have them do onto you."

Very simple concept. Don't lie about anyone else, no one will lie about you. Don't steal and you will not be stolen from.

If we all followed that one simple rule......

It's all about the heart. It's what's inside that counts. It's not what you do, it's why you do it. Our salvation comes from the heart...not our actions. If your heart's not in it, your good works go unnoticed.

Not one person is better than the next. God gives each and every one of us the same equal opportunity to know Him. Our physical surrounding's have nothing to do with our salvation. Our standing in the community means nothing to God.

No one can live by the ten commandments. It's not physically possible. Remember what He said..."You break one you break them all".

When Christ gave us that new commandment, He opened the kingdom to all who would listen. He made us all equal.

"Where your treasure is, your heart is also".

Christ didn't get rid of the ten commandments. He just lumped them all together into one.

serotta, I think if you look through all her posts they are mostly questions. When it gets to the point whre she has to get into the details of what and why she believes whatever, she just starts a new thread and continues to ask questions. I am betinning to wonder if she is looking for someone to prove her beliefs because she can not....

However, it's probably expedient to limit the number of posts on the subject so that the full range of issues can be addressed. There may be certain aspects of a subject you want to address, and you can do that by posting them in the same thread.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
