I have wondered for quite some time about this piece of scripture.  What in the world is a rumor of war?  How could people falsely believe that a war is taking place?  Has something like this happened in the past that I'm not aware of?

I'm surprised I've never heard any discussion about this as I'm sure others have likely wondered just what in the world Jesus was referring to.

 Jerusalem 30ad

There was no internet, no CNN, no radio, no newspaper, no phones. The only communication that the common folk had was word of mouth and as is the case with such communication, (just as you find on Facebook today) there were a lot of wrong stories. Stories slanted to suit the needs of the teller, some tall tales, and some outright lies.

There was no way to "fact check" these stories  so you never knew if a war was real until it hit home. So wars and rumors of wars,

Could it be the time when the internet goes down practically worldwide due to governmental restrictions because of all of the revolts that may eventually take place around the globe?  Luke 21:9:  "And when you hear of wars and revolts, do not be alarmed; for these things must take place first, but the end will not follow immediately.” Without internet accessible to citizens, rumors about wars in other countries would likely multiply quickly.  It's simply speculation of course.

Whatever the case, it's something to watch closely and pray about.  No doubt it will be important to understand the true meaning and God will reveal it to those having insight in the time of the end.  (See Daniel 12:9,10)

But Jesus’ point seems to be that there always has been war, and, until He establishes peace in the Millennial Kingdom, there will always be war. Therefore, wars and rumors of war are not reliable predictors for the end times.

I'm surprised I've never heard any discussion about this as I'm sure others have likely wondered just what in the world Jesus was referring to.

Matt. 24 had one main near time purpose and one far reaching purpose as per prophecy. Jesus knew (he knows all, of course) that if the Disciples, who most would be far away from Jerusalem on missions, had head that a Messianic figure had showed up and that the Pharisees and Jewish leaders had hailed him as the Messiah (which they saw as a Political Savior who would lead them to victory against the Fourth Beast/Rome) and if they heard that the Fourth Beast (Rome) was about to attack Israel/Jerusalem, Jesus knew they might rush home to welcome him (Jesus) who promised to return and be welcomed by as the King as he stated in Matt. 23:37-39. So Jesus had to warn them that whosoever the Pharisees/Jewish Leaders put forth in 70 AD as the Messiah it was NOT going to be him because THE END WAS NOT YET, it was BY & BY.....thus the 70th week was not happening via verses 4-6. Even though in far away lands they heard these rumors that a Messiah had shown up and Rome was about to attack Jerusalem because of the resistance, the Disciples were told matter of fact, this will not be me, so the 70th week is NOT at that time (70 AD).

THEN (Most people miss this) he proceeds to inform the Disciples what all must happen BEFORE the END (70th week) comes. Verses 4-6 are about the 70 AD Temples destruction and Jerusalem sacking. Verses 7-14 is Jesus informing the Disciples what all has to happen before the 70th week can come. This is Jesus warning the Disciples again, but this time what all they must endure, and when the END (70th week) will come.

Nation will arise against nations/Kingdoms vs. kingdoms point to a long period of wars in general. Then he tells them there will be *Famines, Pestilences and Earthquakes* this is not the 70th week, the Sorrows or *Birth pangs* birth THE END Jesus is telling them about, everything in this chapter is meant to point the Disciples to how the 70th week END comes upon the earth. In verses 4-14 he's warning them, then in verses 15-31 he's warning a future Jewish population in Israel.

Pestilence during the Church Age )not the 70th week tribulations)

So, Jesus starts warning them of all the things that must come [during the Church Age period], Wars, Famines, and Pestilence (The Plague of Justinian deaths 25-35 million people, Black Plague death plague killed 75-200 million people, Covid-19, The Italian Plague of 1629, The London Plague of 1665, The Plague of Marseille in 1720, the noted Third Plague killed 15 million people from 1855-1950 starting in China and traversing the globe, its of course, the THIRD as in Justinian was the first, the Black Plague the 2nd via the bubonic disease which antibiotics can cure nowadays.) So, these Pestilences are about the Church Age, not the 70th week which will have enough deaths via the Anti-Christ himself, and God's Wrath of the Asteroid Impact in Rev. 8.

Thus Jesus is warning his Disciples what all must come BEFORE the 70th-week end comes, he tells them all of the above, then says, you will all die !! They will deliver you up to be killed, he's not talking about the 70th week there !! Verses 10-14 are generically about the coming Church Age, but in it he tells the Disciples what they must do to make Heaven also, you have to ENDURE TO THE END [of one's life] as Paul stated, its a Marathon race. He then tells them the Gospel has to go unto ALL OF THE EARTH FIRST AND THEN THE END COMES (70th week) thus they knew that until the Gospel reached India and China the 70th week could not be on them, thus Jesus gave them a great understanding of what they would face and great instructions, they could not be deceived via any false christ nor any end-time Messianic Figure because Jesus told them SPECIFICALLY, the 70th week will not come (THE END) until the Gospel has been preached unto ALL THE WORLD. This whole chapter is a Heads up unto the Disciples in verses 4-14, a sorta warning so they would not be deceived, a forewarning tat they all had to die as their Jesus died, save John, so Jesus is telling them to hold on to your faith until the very end, ENDURE the trials and troubles you will face as I did. Then in verses 15-31 its meant as a HEADS UP to Jews living during the 70th week.

Anyway, this is why Jesus warned about RUMORS, he didn't want then returning to Jerusalem in the years leading up to the 70 AD sacking and thus getting killed, Jesus had plans for the Disciples to spread the Gospel, of course. Thus the warning. This is why I just can't understand people saying Matt. 24 MATCHES Rev. 6, it doesn't, Matt. 24:4-14 is about the 70 AD event AND the Church Age. Besides, the Rev. 6 Seals DO NOTHING anyway, they are not Judgments, no Judgments fall until Rev. 8.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
