According to the Word in Romans 7-8, Salvation, due to Christs sacrifice is where we are no longer enslaved to our carnal passions (should we so choose to overcome and free ourselves). In which case, as the Word is Spiritual, and salvation is spiritual; those who then choose to remain in their carnal sins would not benefit from a spiritual effect.

Think about this logically; why would someone who wantonly continues to live for their flesh, want to live for the spirit, when they have been given the free gift to leave their sins, should they so choose, but instead choose not to? It is counterintuitive.

Salvation is therefore for those who earnestly want to leave their carnal inclinations, in order to live for their spirit (Romans 8:1), while those who willfully continue to live for their flesh (Romans 8:5), receive no spiritual prize.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

If you are saved by God, Then my belief is, you automatically become a new creation, I still don’t get all this choosing business...Once Saved, that’s it ,you are HIS!!...i am led by the Holy Spirit,I have no choice but to follow...

Where else would I go?..these are my personal thoughts, I have a living relationship with God....I can no longer follow the world, can’t be a pleaser of men, I’m a pleaser of God!...

That which is born of the Spirit is Spirit.

What must you do to receive eternal life?  Well first off, no one, by their own actions or inaction's, is good enough to receive eternal life.

Agreed, I wasn't good enough.
Just bad enough.....

Till I found out I was lost, (light)  I had no desire to be saved..

If you believe in Christ, you will then choose a life as His, which is spiritual and not carnal. If you do not believe in Christ, then even if you say that you do believe in Him, your actions will nevertheless display those contrary to the Spirit, which are carnal.

We are free from the law of sin and death, but we are NOT free of the flesh, not while we breathe

If the flesh (aka sin) was not a problem for us, then Paul wasted a lot of time discussing it, and teaching us how to overcome, first by obedience and then, if we fall, by grace

Romans 7: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

It is true if we are Christian we do not wantonly serve the flesh, but we do deal with it and we do fall occasionally

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

1 John 2:2 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

(he is plainly talking about the saved here, calling us children)

Prior to Christs sacrifice we were all in bondage to our flesh. Since Christ died for our sins, we are now no longer in bondage to our flesh, if we so choose to overcome our carnal nature. If you choose to continue being subject to your flesh, you will then continue to be subject to your flesh. If, however, you choose to overcome your flesh, you will then no longer be subject to your flesh.

I am saved from having to serve my flesh, if I so choose to overcome my carnal inclinations. Otherwise, I am saved from nothing, if I should choose to continue serving my flesh, whose god is their belly.

Philippians 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

For many of us, the chastening of the Lord appears in self conviction, where we know that we are doing something displeasing to Him.

Again if this is the case then why are we constantly remind that we are in a battle

1 Corinthians 10: 2 But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
