King Ahab had a daughter.

She became queen.

Like father like daughter.

You see, why is it that people only point the finger at Jezebel and never King Ahab.  The Bible says he was the worst king of the time and that he thought it "trivial" to commit horrible sins and he, the king of God's nation and people, married a devil-worshipper from another land [the Phoenecian Coast - Tyre/Sidon] and became a devil-worshipper with her.  AND he brought her into Israel to become queen of God's people.

It takes two to tango.

Indeed. To whom was the commandment of the Lord given?

Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and tend it. The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may freely eat; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for on the day that you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:15-17 NASB)

The Lord gave the commandment to Adam. Adam sinned for he had received the commandment from God; Eve was deceived by the serpent. We might ascertain that Eve had received the commandment from her husband Adam; why didn't Adam refuse the fruit? He knew better having received the commandment from the Lord Himself!

Ah, but because a husband and wife are one flesh Adam's sin fell upon Eve who was deceived. But herein the majesty of God is revealed who declared to the serpent who deceived Eve,

"And I will make enemies
Of you and the woman,
And of your offspring and her Descendant;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise Him on the heel.

(Genesis 3:15 NASB)

Like mother, like daughter. A daughter of Eve bore the Word made flesh into this world! Did God say to Adam, your descendant shall bruise the head of the serpent? No, for by Adam sin entered into the world. By the seed of Eve will the serpent be overcome, not Adam's seed! :)

Theres a problem here well lets look at what Eve said BEFORE the sin " The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

So some treating this as if Eve didn't know.. we see she knew and she and Adam sinned together. Again Eve said "But GOD did say"... hmm yeah she knew if she eats of that tree she will die.

Hey there, @Marathoner. . .  Actually, Luke describes the "generations of Christ" in Chapter 3 of Luke's Gospel, beginning with Jesus Himself and tracing backwards all the way to Adam.

Yes, but who was Adam's Father? And who was the Father of the Word made flesh? :)

This is just a commentary on Jesus Christ as the second Adam, sister. Of course the woman who bore Christ into the world is a descendant of Adam as well as Eve (and therefore under the Law), but Jesus does not have Adam as His father (a natural man). Praise the Lord! What God spoke to the serpent was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. :)

So also it is written: “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” The last Adam was a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:45-47 NASB)

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all mankind, because all sinned— for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not counted against anyone when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the violation committed by Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. (Romans 5:12-14 NASB)

Adam (natural from the dust) first, then Jesus Christ the second man (spiritual and from heaven) last. Adam was a type of Christ to come? Pretty heavy!

Is there a particular point of commentary to be discussed?

I actually didn’t know that athaliah was Jezebel’s daughter. Wondered if it would be a good discussion. Once read a commentary that she ‘almost’ broke the messianic line.

And as for eve, she was deceived...surely a warning to all of us of the ‘fairer sex’ :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
