Yes. Thankfully, Jesus intervened and saved us from the devil.

The devil was always going to be cast into the lake of fire and tormented day and night, forever and ever.  If the Lord Jesus had not come, we would all have been tormented along with him, not by him.

Yes, that was preordained. I'm just pointing out what I think would have happened had Jesus not died on the cross.

Hi 1to3,

Such an important question. Here are my thoughts.

One person (Adam) chose independence from God and thus all his descendants were tainted from the consequences of that through blood lineage. (We see the affects in sickness, death, cruelty, etc)

Thus when Christ gave His pure life as a (blood) sacrifice and rose again, His perfect DNA could be implanted into believer`s spirit (by the Holy Spirit) giving them new life, eternal life.

regards, Marilyn.

Good question and can be a challenge to completely convey. Though if I was to simply such a question Maybe a little from Colossians might be useful,

To be the firstborn among the dead.

All things were created through Him and for Him, He is the beginning and firstborn from among the dead, so that in all things He may have preeminence. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Colossians 1:15-23

Greetings,

The answer is in Genesis 3.6-24 when Adam and Eve transgressed in the garden of Eden at least 16 things happened.

Transgression - Sin

1.    They were separated from God.

2.    Their relationship was severed.

3.    There was no more fellowship with God.

4.    They were subject to a sinful nature.

5.    They were subject to sickness.

6.    They were subject to bondage.

7.    They were subject to death.

8.    They were subject to eternal punishment.

9.    Serpent cursed/deceived Eve, salvation via her seed restored all the damage.

10.   Women cursed with labour pains and now must submit to her husband.

11.   Adam had to work and provide for himself now.

12.   They were removed from the garden of Eden.

13.   Dominion transferred to satan.

14.   The world is now the kingdom of darkness.

15.   Satan the god of this world.

16.   Adam Eve & humanities seed are subject to the above conditions.

Redemption – Salvation

1.    Believers reconciled back to God.

2.    Believers have a personal relationship with God

3.    Believes can fellowship with God

4.    Believers receive salvation & are born again

5.    Believers healed.

6.    Believers set free.

7.    Believers can enjoy eternal life with God

8.    Believers can be rewarded in heaven.

9.    Satan defeated & the damage he did restored.

10.  Believers do not have to endure labour pain and can voluntarily submit to their husbands.

11.  Believers can still work but God provides for them and meets their needs.

12.  Authority dominion & power transferred back to the body of Christ.

13.  Believers the temple of God.

14.  Believers transferred to the kingdom of God and light.

15.  Jesus is the King & Lord of earth & believers represent him here.

16.  Believer’s seed are born into the kingdom of God receive all the blessings and their inheritance.

The reason why God sent Jesus to the earth was to restore the damage from Adam and Eves transgression in the garden of Eden.

Jesus had to die to redeem mankind and then God was able to send the free gift of salvation to humanity by his grace so humanity couldn’t take credit for it and say they deserved earned or worked for it.

Then Jesus was resurrected and after appearing to the apostles and believers for 40 days, he ascended up into heaven sat down on the right hand side of God and eventually sent his Holy Spirit to comfort teach and guide his people and it is our responsibility to be Christlike, fruitful, and share this good news message.

I hope this helps to clarify things.

Peace.

Many people have heard that God is a God of perfect love. But he is just as much a God of perfect justice and holiness. Crimes (sins) must be paid for. Normally, we would have to pay that price, which would mean being lost forever. But of course there is still His perfect love! So he made a way out for us. The only way is if someone who had never sinned paid for our sins; if he had sinned, then his eternal punishment would only be for his own sins. Only someone without that debt to pay themselves could take on our debt.

Wow! such great answers from each and everyone of you. thank you so much for sharing.

I had written my thoughts on how to explain, before reading all of yours.

All your reply's have been very helpful and insightful. Thank you all for sharing.

Please feel free to keep on sharing or adding to this thread. God Bless!

Here is the answer I had written to how I would reply.:

It all began in the garden of Eden. In the beginning was: God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit. They are One. God created everything in six days and it was good. On the seven day He rested. Something happened after in the Garden of Eden. Lucifer  Gods anointed Cherub who could go from heavens (there are three) to earth and walked about Eden, however at some point in time he got filled with His own pride and was cast down out of heaven. Lucifer lost his grand position because he was overcome by his own pride and was cast out of the third heaven along with 1/3 of the angels that he managed also to corrupt and so he and the fallen angels were cast out of the third heaven left to roam the earth and skies.  Having become corrupted himself by the sin of his pride and filled with anger and revenge at God for doing this to him, he then wanted to steal, kill, destroy Gods creation and regain back as much power as possible so to one day even get rid of God . So then fallen satan filled with pride, hatred, revenge and anger ,  tried and succeeded in tempting Eve and Adan by their own pride, like he did 1/3 of the angels) Thus sin corrupted man, nature and entered the world .

Because mankind was now corrupted by a fallen sin nature, God sent His only begotten Son Christ Jesus into this world, Born of a virgin who was overshadowed by God, Christ Jesus was born human but His Blood was direct from God. Christ Jesus's Blood was pure and untaited by any sin nature of fallen man. Christ Jesus , coming into human form by being birthed through a virgin woman Mary, was able to go through everything we experience in terms of  being human and was even tempted by satan but did not sin.  Christ Jesus was sin free and had to be so , To buy us back from the power of sin. Christ Jesus Blood was sin free, and when Christ gave up His life on the cross of Calvary, He took on all the sins of mankind and paid the FULL penalty for All the sins of mankind. At that moment He broke the power of sin satan has on mankind. (It is finished were Christ Jesus last words on the cross)    So, to all those who lay their sins at the cross where Christ Jesus lay His blood and life for us, and believe Christ Jesus to be what He said ,  who He said He was, and make a decision to place their sins at the foot of the cross and begin a new living accepting Christ Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior as the One who paid the full ultimate penalty for the sins of mankind .
God had to buy us back from the hold of sin satan had over us when he succeeded at tempting Adam and Eve through their pride. God sent His only begotten Son Christ Jesus to buy mankind back from the power of sin that satan has over mankind ever since the fall of Adam and Eve in garden of Eden.

Christ Jesus became the sacrificial Lamb taking on ALL the sins of the World and shedding His Pure untainted Blood as a covering, washing away all our sins and making us acceptable to one day return back to Him for eternity. In Christ Jesus we become a new creation filled with His Holy Spirit living in us, we become the child of God we were always intended to be. We live of the Holy Spirit and not of this tainted World that satan corrupted and continues to do in the hearts of people who reject God and His plan of redemption through His only begotten Son Christ Jesus and His Word.

There is a great need to establish what sin actually is:
As it’s roots are in lie and lie is the desperate attempt of satan to make a way for himself to be god... As this could clearly never be for only God ‘IS’ and the rest of all that is-is began by Him... this is what is called self supporting truth because in order for a lie to exist truth must first exist and that clearly supports the fact God Who ‘IS’ truth existed before all else....

So when Satan began to form lie he divorced himself of all that he was created to be for the glory of God and became lie upon which God could never be part of... this reality took out 1/3 of the angles and mankind for they took in the lie and became it! So that they also never could be of God as truth again! This total separation from truth became what is called death and it passed to all that was of the lie...

As God in His Holiness this was an eternal judgment of separation from His Person(s)... YET God is love and this unique aspect of The Lord allows God to be able to love so perfectly as defined by God
1 Corinthians 13:4-10 (NKJV) [4] Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; [5] does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; [6] does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; [7] bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. [8] Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. [9] For we know in part and we prophesy in part. [10] But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

As this unique aspect of God was fully revealed at the cross where Jesus completely emptied all that He was as man yielded to The Will of His Father went to the cross and the reality of the examination of Hisself showed forth His supernatural ability to be love and asked forgiveness of all of mankind for the lie they had become (all) and God The Father poured all of His wrath for lie out upon His Son satisfying The Holy Justice of The Persons of His Being... this provides God in Holiness to make a way for all sinners to have a way back to Him- YET-  having nothing to do with the sin or the garment next to the sin
Jude 23-25 (NKJV) [23] but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh. [24] Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, [25] To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever.   Amen.

This Gospel  has the unique power for mankind to escape all that he has began in and all that he is, up and to the point of belief, in the Gospel message and then said message forms a bridge called faith that is able to bring repentance of absolutely all that we are and all that we know... we literally are given the ability to divorce completely from the false value system that is of here and accepts Jesus Who becomes The True Value for all eternity.  The purity of the cross places new life in a dead world and dead people called new birth and the sanctification process is to learn to walk outside of this world and the dead flesh we are left in...

If God hadn’t sent Jesus to the earth, we would have been lost and in darkness forever!.

Praying for all of those who are lost and in darkness......as we once were.

Thank you Father God, for the Holy Spirit....without Him we are dead!.
