Rarely have I ever seen, people, trying to give their self to God when they accept His invitation and do not pray through and receive the Holy Spirit.   I've seen same ones at the alter many services but never in a place of wanting to fully commit to God.   I believe if you receive the Holy Spirit, you and your life will change.

And Yes!

amen that is so true it’s like people are always encouraged to make decisions for Jesus, but there is no discipleship to help give them guidance about what to do next or which direction to go in besides understanding the purpose of receiving the Holy Spirit.

I think decisions and discipleship go hand in hand, and without a person to disciple them it can be overwhelming.

This is a matter of some contention and I steer clear of that, my friend. There's no need for it because God does as He pleases and He answers to no man. This doesn't stop some from insisting that He does for they have the Lord all figured out, or so it seems.

I write from experience that when the Spirit of the Lord drew near and declared my election in Christ, I was saved. This is the work of God and no other --- certainly not my work! --- because before I heard the voice of the Lord I didn't know Him, but He surely knew me. I was saved but there was a work which the Lord ordained to display in me, a work which He wrought through tribulation and trial. It is through many tribulations that we enter the kingdom of God, @Aries2020

When the Spirit of God called, I answered Him. When the Lord said that the time had come to cast everything aside and seek Him, I cast everything aside to seek the Son of God. I was baptized in water (in a water trough). What I didn't comprehend at that time was this: I belong to Jesus Christ and no other, not even myself; He chose me and our Father in heaven gave me to Him. No one comes to the Son unless the Father draws Him.

What occurred at the conclusion of the fiery trial, when that work which God intended to display in me was revealed? The Lord poured His Spirit upon me and everything changed in the blink of an eye. It was a like a great wind of fire washed over me, so this is what some refer to as the baptism of the Spirit.

amen wow that is quite a testimony and you have touched on so many truths, as recipients of God’s grace & mercy when you are being led and directed you just have to let go and trust him.

thanks for sharing that.

This is an excellent title for the topic. We enter into a relationship with God in His Son, Jesus Christ.

amen do you think there is a transition from after receiving salvation, to a personal relationship with Jesus or are they the same. what do you think?

For without being born again, a testifying to our spirit that we are his child...we would be alienated from God.

Still walking our own path of sin and being dead in Spirit.

I was baptised in water as a new babe, I just went along with everyone else at the church I attended.

Water baptism does not save you.

Amen being born again reconciles us back to God, did  you just get water baptised because it was expected and was it necessary to receive the Holy Spirit or not receive the Holy Spirit in your fellowship?

Because everyone else was being baptised in water...

If God hadn’t opened my heart to receiving his Spirit....then I’d still be dead and lost.

God drew me to Jesus without ever reading a bible, but of course I had heard the name of Jesus through education at school.

Walking with God, is the biggest honour ,privilege in all the world....there is nothing greater...of course Jesus is the greatest, what I mean is, being a child and following him.

we are talking Almighty God here, not Joe blogs, lol.?

A real relationship i believe with God takes time to grow and mature..

The more you grow the more you see him in your life, you just know that you know...after all he indwells us.

amen i think following Jesus is one of the hardest things to do, because it is so easy to be distracted and follow your own paths and then come back to the straight and narrow.

Like you said its a process to learn grow and transform, but over time and by his grace we slowly make progress and he is so faithfully and loyal to his children.

Ultimately Christ draws everyone to Himself. I don't mean that everyone gets saved, but everyone ends up knowing who Christ is and climactically everyone eventually acknowledges Him for who He is and acclaims His worthiness..

Php 2:9-11  Wherefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:  (10)  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  (11)  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Rev 5:13  And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
