Parable of the Marriage Feast

Due to Matthew 21:45-46 we can conclude that He is still speaking about the false swearers, those Jews that reject Him.
In His day it was the chief priests and Pharisees, as we read from 21:45. 
 

They were invited to the feast, but did not want to go and ultimately even killed the kings servants. (the prophets)

We know what the feast is, the feast is described in Revelation 19:7-21; the marriage supper of the Lamb;
Psalm 58:10 and Malachi 4:3 very literally coming to pass.

Everyone is invited, both bad and good, the initial acceptance of the invitation is believing that Joshua of Nazareth;
the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world; lived, died and physically rose from the dead.
[and therefore going to His wedding feast is something good and desirable to do]
Those sincerely accepting the invitation will have their robes washed in the blood of the Lamb.

"Blessed are they who have washed their robes, that they may have right to the tree of life,
and may enter in through the gates into the city"  Revelation 22:14

The actual invitation, the printed ticket, as it were, is the Holy Spirit. 
The ticket is dripping wet with the blood of the Lamb, 
one sincerely accepting the invitation will therefore not just have the ticket,
will not just have held the ticket gingerly between two fingers,  (because its covered in blood)
but will also be covered in blood, from having fully grasped the ticket.

Therefore a proper wedding garment is one covered in blood,
from one who never put the ticket down, but was rather guided by the ticket
and the hope of going to the wedding feast.

One entering the feast without a proper wedding garment, will be kicked out.

"I will declare unto them, I never knew you, depart from me ye that work lawlessness" Matthew 7:23

"Hereby we do know that we know Christ, if we keep the teachings of Christ" 1 John 2:3-4

"Because the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self control.
And they that belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts." Galatians 5:23-24

First, the king had issued a gracious invitation. which was rejected by those who would normally be considered his frieinds. 

Second, their rejection would result in the kings taking severe action.

Third, their rejection would result in the invitation being to all who would come. 

While the invitation us broad, those actually chosen for a blessing are few. 

The Parable of the Wedding Feast is also a warning to us, to make sure we are relying on God’s provision of salvation, not on our own good works or religious service.
