As an ESL professor, allow me to give you some advice.  It's often best to not use "etc." First, if you have a list of powerful examples,  let them stand on their own instead of making it seem as if more are needed in order to validate the statement.

Second,"etc." can mean anything, including something which doesn't support your statement.  Last, your reader remembers best the last thing they read and therefore let it be something stonger than "etc."

Hmm...

Firstly, it's often best not to split infinitives, for no good reason: "...to not use..." should be, "...not to use...".

Secondly, the "etc.", at the end of a list, could make it seem as if more examples are needed, to validate the claim; but, it could also imply that, although more such examples are available, they are not required to make the point strongly enough.

Lastly, it's best to maintain the correct correlation between singular and plural, within a sentence: "...your reader..." is singular; whereas, "...they read..." is plural.  Please don't come out with the "singular they" nonsense, which panders to so-called Political Correctness.  It's a solecism.

Sorry Chicken coop2; but, when I see people correcting others, when their "corrections" need correction, I find it hard to resist...

Chosing to say "to not use" as opposed  to "not to use" can be used as a linguistic procédé to put an emphasis on the word "use".

If I were doing this orally, for example in a debate, I would also stress the word "not" (to nòt use).

Maybe that's acceptable American usage; if so, fair enough.  In Britain, it would be an error.

As for the word "they", you need to take that up with autocorrect.  I typed "the last thing read". I was using the past participle of the verb "to read" to modify last thing and autocorrect added the word "they".

No problem;  I make many typos myself, and that's without having to fight "autocorrect".

I still prefer not to end (to nòt end a sentence with etc. I would rather say for example and make a list with my strongest reason being last because my reader will remember better the last thing read.

I didn't mention the point about not ending a sentence with "etc.", because it's a good one and I agree with it.

Just between us, we need to keep it a secret :secret-talk: that unlike almost every major language in the world, there is no such thing as an English academy.  Therefore, unlike French, for example with L'académie Française, English has no official rules.

We were taught grammatical rules, when I was at school (admittedly, some of those have softened since).  I think that the teaching of English, in Britain, was a lot stricter, when I was young.  Even my sister (five years younger than I) was taught far more laxly.

I've heard about the French Academy.  They are desperately trying to avoid anglicisms creeping into French, e.g. "l'hovercraft".

Love fore the world looks like wanting the things advertised on TV--a new car, a remodeled or new house, new furniture, jewelry, motor cycles, boats, a new rifle, anything that is stylish like clothes, the latest fad etc.  It may include wanting power and influence as well.

In heart the world is not for Christ. It i antichrist. Lust for what the world offers.  religiously, materiality , politically .

Love no the world neither the things in the world if any  man love the world the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world , the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.

Many who sit in  church on Sunday pay no attention and have little;: concern for the Word of God say. Whole congregations and leadership have groan cold making the word of God just some religious book. Their mind is on playing golf and living the life of the rich and famous.

Their mistake is the we need to make the world a better place through politics and the powers of this world. This is not going to happen. My son in Law once thought  like this, but he is beomming more able to see what is happening . The world is our play ground : A gift from God While others suffer and die every day.

Even Now you will have cards to prove vaccination. Politics is involved with this more that we know. Every step takes us closer.

I may be over dramatic But I write what the spirit puts in my heart.

 God Bless

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
