......to all these discussions, when so many here have so many different opinions, and they usually end by people just wandering off into their own oblivion, with nothing being settled or agreed on, after maybe some pretty cynical and belligerent continuing comments that don't let up.

We just move on to another topic, or go have lunch, or go out and do some gardening, and wonder , what was that last topic really about, and did we really come to a conclusion in harmony that was uplifting??

What I normally see is people disagreeing, many times crossing the line of loving one another, and sometimes get downright caustic and sarcastic and worse, and I wonder...........what is all this really about, and why am I still here??

I feel discouraged and need some encouragement here.

I love my faith, and I love my Lord. I'm a positive person and love to give good encouragement and share knowledge from decades of study, but starting to believe maybe I don't belong here, because my faith is beautiful to me, and so many want to attack and fight and be terribly disagreeable, and that's just not how I want to live out my faith here or anywhere.

Anyone up for helping me out??????????

God bless you all.

P.S.

I was just watching an art show on TV. The artisans were creating a stone mosaic much like a stained glass window - beautiful. 4 to 10 people in one room in this building in Italy.

Each design was created by input from all the artists and then they all worked together with their own talents and gifts to create this new beautiful creation.

It made me wonder why it was so hard for all of us to do the same thing - CREATE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL TOGETHER, like JESUS IS BEAUTIFUL.

I love coming on here, and reading the comments,I need my fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ.

As for the arguing, we are all at different places on our walk with the Lord, I have learnt to not take anything that is said personally,  the Holy Spirit is working in us all ,his timing is perfect, I thank him for the place that he has got me at today, we all mature at different rates, ....not taking things personally, is a great freedom, when you reach that place ,I thank God for it, a very long time coming!..?

You also belong here, you are a kind ,gentle Christian Brother, ..Praise God for that!!.

Dear Arrabon... I don’t know quite how to comfort your heart, so I’ll just place here a gentle reminder from the Lord that I hope will encourage you.  Blessings.

1 Peter 4:12-13

Suffering for God’s Glory

12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Hi @Arrabon....  I’m so sorry you’re feeling discouraged, but of course you know that discouragement is a temporary feeling, and not the true state of your disposition.  ?  This, too, shall pass....

Ephesians 5:18b-20 reminds us to “be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,”...

Sometimes I say to myself, Really, Father?  All things?  Even that person who was soooo rude to me just now?  Even that impatient driver behind me who sat on his horn because I didn’t take off the split second the light turned green?  Even that teacher who obviously wasn’t prepared for his Bible class?  But I just have to say, the answer is always yes— all things!  Because at some point, whether in a few minutes or a few days, if I reflect on what was bothering me so much, I find a lesson to be learned in it.

I haven’t been here long, but I have already seen just a small sampling of what you’ve noticed—in fact, on the very day I joined.  I am saddened by it, too.  But I have seen a greater sampling of people who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.  You are one of them, so I really, really hope you’ll stick around!  May God bless you and see you through this discouraging time.  The best is yet to be, as you well know!  The evil one will not always be around to cause confusion.  The end of the story is written, and it is awesome!  Make melody in your heart!

@Arrabon Maybe it's something about living in the PNW that makes us different.  I have always liked to think that maybe it is my Oregon Pioneer ancestry that makes me different.  I only joined Worthy the first part of March after looking for something to do during my new retirement days.  I too noticed all of the arguments between posters.  I also noticed they were mostly male.  But at my age, I understand that men tend to argue the point where women drop it and go on to something less controversial.  Women tend to be the peacemakers while the men go off to war.  God has always needed the men to do the hand-to-hand combat and the women to do the mending of the wounds.  I have been reading the Old Testament lately and all they did was fight! Fight God and fight each other.  Not much has changed.  I have found while being on here, now only once or twice a week, I will search out the most recent posts that grab my attention and respond if I am lead by the Spirit.  Sort of like this post from you.  You know there will always be some people, where ever we go, that want to show they are the smartest, show they are the most righteous, show they are a genius, and brag about everything they think they know.  The best we can do is say a little prayer for them and move on.  The Lord will deal with them at some point in time if the Lord is truly in their hearts.  Please don't give up on all of us.  Some of us want to have fun on here, learn from others, and help with our words if we can.  One more thing in regards to living in the PNW, sometimes I wonder if the rust has built up in me making me hard-coated in resisting the verbal stabs of others.  :swordfightsmiles:

Blessings to you and please don't give up or get discouraged!

I can't speak for anyone else... yes I see the same thing in every Christian forum I have been to or Youtube or facebook or you name it. A that being said to know great men and woman of God I have noticed they are never here or on Youtube or facebook. They will have a channel or a page on Facebook etc to post yet they don't do this. There is a reason for that :). To many times we all want to be the leader the one that knows the real answer here :) I don't see "what I believe" "this is my personal view" blah blah blah in posts. So I do at times just duh have to share my truth haha yet I do read try to see what the person is saying through their eyes not mine.. hey I KNOW I can be wrong here.

And allot love to debate or just go on and on and it can be fun to read. Others make it personal call out names.. praise GOD. I don't want to get mad back.. don't want them banned. We all learn grow in the spirit differently. I know what I know.. make sense yet I fall short in so many other areas. So when I read how confident someone is in some post...that truth Christ has shown them.. oh it helps me every time.

Is there a point for the farmer to sew the seed even if some falls on the wayside, or the stony or weed filled ground. Yes.  to make sure that all the good ground has received seed

Not everyone will appreciate or agree with what you share...but some may, whether its many or just one, a seed sown in time will produce a fine harvest

Thanks @Riverwalker and everyone else .

Like most here that are struggling to grow, I find myself hitting the wall of my own imperfections and failures at times ,when I'm here, and feel frustrated and discouraged at how I feel and what I say with the wrong attitude, when I think I should be so far beyond where I am at my age.

I'm grateful God allows me to feel this way, but sometimes it's nice to open up and share what I'm feeling, and get the encouragement I need to see things the way I should, but feel blind-sided by my expectations and failures.

Thank you all.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
