I don’t believe I have ever questioned God as of to why,  I have just gone along with what he has asked me to do.

what I have done, is had enormous “ hissy fits” with the Lord , I can be myself with him, saying I’ve had enough, I’m not doing this anymore, I’m done, I have cried out to him many times, asking for him to help me,....I have been so adamant that I’m not doing it again, ...he is so gentle with me, he just knows how to get me back on track, ..no “ MAN” has ever been able to do this... God is the only one who in my own words, been able to tame me, I am like putty in his hands,?

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

(26) Put Me in remembrance . . .—The object of the verb has been differently supplied: (1) “Remind Me, if thou canst, of thy merits; plead in thine own defence for an acquittal;” and (2) “Remind Me of my promise to thee, of that electing grace which called thee to be My servant.”

What an awesome verse!  Our Father wants to discuss and reason together with His kids.  He’s just waiting for us to remind Him of His promises to us.  For example, it’s like, “Lord didn’t You say that You would take care of me because I love You?”

. . .

Psalm 91:14-16

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Try reading the Aramaic version. That is what they all spoke in those days. ;)

According to Albert Barnes:

Eli, Eli ... - This language is not pure Hebrew nor Syriac, but a mixture of both, called commonly “Syro-Chaldaic.” This was probably the language which the Saviour commonly spoke. :mellow:

Great topic @rainbowAlice.

I love these kind of questions we seldom hear, that gets us all to stop and really think.

I had to stop and think about your question myself, because it's been a loooong time since I asked God that question of why.

Asking why for me, as I look back, was a natural part of growing in my Christian faith, as a young child asks a parent why, in our own youthful Christian walk in many circumstances, we ask why of God, many times in the clutches of pain or heartache, or other difficult situations until for me I read;

James 1:2-4 "Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."

And then I also read;

Jeremiah 29:11-14 11 "For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will let Myself be found by you,’ declares the Lord. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL !!!"

1st Cor. 6:19, " Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

And 2nd Cor. 5:15 and, "He died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose on their behalf."

Over the years, when I was able to, little by little, finally bring all these verses together into what God was saying to me, as many others have said to me, that difficulties are sometimes God's way of getting our attention so He can teach us to be grateful for the hardships of life as well as the good things, and to be grateful for them all, for nothing ever happens to us that God isn't aware of, and through many times of trials and tribulations over and over, I have FINALLY found, after reaching my advanced years of age, after many, many trials, not only have I found a deep abiding JOY, but I have  developed a welcoming spirit for all that God wants to bring to me, including suffering depairingly brutal body pain and emotional pain, and now I ask for wisdom for what He is going to teach me through all this pain, praise Him as I go through it, and praise Him when it's over - never ASKING WHY for many decades now, but thanking Him instead, that in my unworthiness, He finds me worthy of His continual molding me as clay by my Godly "POTTER."

I've sometimes asked God "Why?" (as have many, many others).  I find that he sometimes tells me (much simplified, I'm sure) and sometimes not.  He is our loving Father and, like a human father, sometimes explains the "why" to his children and sometimes tells us simply to trust him.

I think it must just must be me. In my personal walk with Christ in faith I have found that by putting all of my emotions and expectations into, for example, "PLEASE FATHER!" followed by the Lord's Prayer, "for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. This then is how you should pray..." Matthew 6:8-9 tends to elliminate, for me, the necessity to delve further with questions like "why".

I thank you and all the others that took the time to even read my excerpt and help broaden my understanding through personal experience and scripture. I am new and learning. Please don't stop!

6:8-9

I am interested to know what you think about Jesus Himself asking God why, as follows . . .

Mat 27:45-46  Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.  (46)  And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?"

I hope you received my post in answer to your inquiry. I took time and consideration in writing a response.

Yep. I responded by quoting what you wrote about the breaching. Scroll back and you will also see I referenced Psalm 22.

It is against the current narrative of course, so many will not agree with this. But I have also known for many years about the 'camel hair' joke that Yeshua made. <_<

Yes, we have passages in the Bible where one rendering is forsaken for another. . . nothing is wasted though.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
