Can anyone explain? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The "contradictory statements" that you mention are due to people misapplying passages related to Israel over to the Church. There is no doubt that there will be a "catching up" of believers, for it is written in black and white in the Bible. The debate is more of "when will it happen?" That should make us happy! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> avenaue said that there will be no rapture..... I agree that there will not be a rapture and I don't think I should rejoice to be able to live through the most terrifying time on the face of the earth. Yeh I am as ready as I can be for it, and it may well start late this fall, but I don't think I or you or anyone else should be happy about it. Close to 5 billion people are going to die during that time period and I just can't bring up a big smiley face for that.... Yep I'll be happy when he returns, but still..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see- I misread a few of the posts. The Bible speaks of a "rapture" though it doesn't actually use the word. Take heart my friend, God isn't going to leave His faithful here to suffer...at one sound of the trumpet, Jesus will return and we will meet Him in the sky- and this could/will be any day now Be blessed, Tim <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amen, Tim. It amazes me that the Bible says that we will be caught up (in the Greek it is harpazo and in the Latin Vulgate it is rapturos), yet people insist the it won't happen. It's almost like the "willful ignorance" that Peter speaks of. 2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: There should be no question as to if there is going to be a harpazo, rather the only thing for discussion should be when the harpazo will be. 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up (Gr: harpazo/Latin: rapturos) together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Now, is someone going to tell me that 1 Thes 4:17 is not in the Bible?
