Pray as Jesus prayed, "Not my will, but Thine be done."

Matthew 26:39 "And Jesus went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”

After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

The better you know The Lord through the study of His Word the more you can effectively pray according to His will and not your own... after all His page ‘IS’ the only one to be on!

Be honest with God. Tell him how you feel (even if it is what most would deem blasphemy).

God is love and Jesus is Truth. And God can see past anything you try to cover up.

Look at the Psalms where David makes charges or Abraham said "you have kept me childless..."

etc. You think God isn't big enough?

I catch myself doing this... the long wordy religious prayers... nix that!

Talk to God.

Talk to God like he is not the imbecile most treat him like.

He knows all your needs.

He knew them long before there ever was a you or me.

Remember, it's his kingdom. We are his property.

But he knows we have wants and needs.

Seek him as our Source and as the Executor of

our estate. Yes means yes no means no maybe means maybe.

He has our best interest at heart (when I say "our" I mean collectively... it may involve our doing

without for the sake of another under God's purview).

Thy will not my will be done was prayed by the humblest man to ever walk the face of the Earth. We do well

to emulate him in every way... some (including the Apostle Paul) came close... or closer than most... but there is

a chasm of difference between any human being and the God-man...

And Jesus was establishing his own identity apart from that of the Father (Jesus being God the Word incarnate).

Otherwise "My will be done." would have been prayed. Sorry oneness / modalists. The one God is a plurality of persons.

Jesus was also establishing that he was and is fully man as well as fully God. Sorry gnostics (who teach Jesus came only as a theophany).

Jesus also established by this prayer that there is no other way to redeem mankind. All things are possible for thee, let this cup pass from me...

John 16:26–27 (AV)
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

To me, it's one thing to read all these verses about God's will ,and understand the concept of everything is in God's hands, but to actually make an effort to live God's verses out in real life, is quite another thing. For me at times, it was gut wrenching and terrifying, when God first started teaching me these ways to trust Him and depend on Him. But each time I was strengthened.

Several times God has put me in growing positions to not only believe I can accept His will, no matter what I am wanting to do, but to honestly and truthfully, with more peace each time, to be willing to accept His decision with joy and peace, even if He says "NO."

I am at that place again!! It's time to grow again!!

Philippians 4: 6-7 have been the premier verses in my life, that God has used to cause me to grow.

6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

My childhood and earlier years as an adult were filled with fears of various kinds controlling me at times, but I was able to work through it each time. But as time passed I took on more things that caused  greater fear, and as hard as I tried, I couldn't find that peace God speaks of. I prayed for years, over 20, and over those years, I have gotten a bit stronger each time I have taken on things I have to leave in Gods hands, and totally depend on Him, and experienced a little more peace.

Now I am at a crossroad, where I have to make one of 2 decisions, and I can't believe, that I feel like no matter which I choose, I am confident that God will make things work out -  For me that's AMAZING!! "All things work together for good" - if that's His will.

What's even more AMAZING, is that, I am even OK if nothing works out, or He changes things, and all my plans don't work out, because maybe it's not God's will.

But either way things go, because of my past, it's such a crazy feeling to have this quiet confidence I feel in the Lord.

I  honestly never believed I would be as this point in my faith. I have struggled so long with this, I thought maybe this was like with Paul, when God said, "My grace is Sufficient." Not bragging one bit, but just honestly amazed and astounded by my peace - Praise God !!!.

Tomorrow is that day I step out on faith, and do what I need to do for my future, and then wait for 2 weeks to stay in peace and watch and see Gods involvement, and how it all will turn out.

Whether things go my way or not, at this point, that doesn't seem to matter hardly at all, compared to feeling, and having this peace and confidence in the Lord I have sought for decades. What a joy to be here with the Lord !!!

Thank you all for sharing this with me - God bless you all.

It's so much better to allow God to lead, to open and close the doors....than for us to try to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
