Blind Seeker

I will before publishing if it gets that far. Are you an editor you seem like you would be good at it. Did you get my message in the PM and did you read my posting of Rev.13 in your posting of Why I don't believe in the 7 year Trib.

No, I am not an editor, I am a student of God's word.

Yes, I did read your posting and do not have time to comment on it presently, but we are not likeminded on it.

Forgive my shortness, it is late.

Shadow2B,

I can offer you little more than Brad on the "Manifested Sons of God" right now due to time restraints, nor do I feel Brad is promoting their diversed theology. If you start a thread of inquiry I will try to follow and address points as time permits.

Sorry, I can offer no more right now my friend.

William

QUOTE

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience

What is the "the word of my patience".

In your patience possess ye your souls.

Dear JohnS,

I'm sure you have probably already looked into it's meaning, but here is the answer to your question:

patience:

comes from the root word in the Greek "Hupomeno"

#5278

to preserve: under misfortunes and trials to hold fast to one's faith in Christ

to endure, bear bravely and calmly: ill treatments

The Strongs translation of that particular word is this:

Hupomone-#5281

steadfastness, constancy, endurance

in the NT the characteristic of a man who is not swerved from his deliberate purpose and his loyalty to faith and piety by even the greatest trials and sufferings

patiently, and steadfastly

a patient, steadfast waiting for

a patient enduring, sustaining, perseverance

(I tend to think the last 2 def. are characteristic of the word in Rev. 3:10, the bold was my doing)

So in translation it would mean one who follows the teachings of the Word, to "endure and wait" without ceasing, or turning away.

That is what I understand the phrase: "Word of my patience" to mean.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,

a patient, steadfast waiting for

a patient enduring, sustaining, perseverance

Isn't that the same thing as the scriptural definition of faith? Now faith is the substance (hupostasis)

of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence (hupostasis) stedfast unto the end;

YES, YES, YES....'faith' and 'obedience' are interchangeable. If His grace does not lead to repentance, then God's wrath is being revealed against those who ignore, who choose to deceive themselves and who choose not to receive this free gift from God. Would you then tell such a person to follow the ten commandments to receive salvation?

It's funny isn't it, how all these threads are becoming interwoven? The Ten Commandments question...reminds me of the discussion with Dad Ernie in "What did He mean"? Your faith and obedience comment, reminds me of the response to OneAccord in "Literal or Spiritual", about literal and figurative Scriptures. figurative becomes literal, with the obedience of faith being seen by the world.

Are these the things you are referring to?

In His Love,

Suzanne

My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you.

Christ in you....this is all I refer to.

Yes, and Christ in us, is a way of life.

Not just words spoken, it becomes literal and active doesn't it. Christ in us should be evidenced outwardly as well as inwardly. Faith becomes literal, no longer figurative. It is seen.

In His Love,

Suzanne
