If you are respectful of atheism, then you are respectful of people making the Bible a pack of lies and fairy tales, you are respectful of people denying the Lord Jesus Christ and therefore denying the Father also.  You are being respectful of those whom God calls "fools" (the word carries the connotation of rebels, not merely idiots).  In short, you are respecting what God hates.  This is not a godly attitude at all!

We should have no respect whatever for false religion, in any form.  To do so is to respect that which scatters.

Matt. 12:30 (MKJV) The one who is not with Me is against Me, and the one who does not gather with Me scatters.

2 John 7-11 (WEB)

7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who don’t confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist.
8 Watch yourselves, that we don’t lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Whoever transgresses and doesn’t remain in the teaching of Christ, doesn’t have God. He who remains in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you, and doesn’t bring this teaching, don’t receive him into your house, and don’t welcome him,
11 for he who welcomes him participates in his evil works.

1 Cor. 16:22 (MKJV) If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. The Lord comes!

I simply refuse to go around arguing and disrespecting my friends or anyone. It is the quickest way to put them off ever believing. Far better to exercise diplomacy. I am very strong and confident in my Christianity. Therefore prefer to choose my moments and ways to convince people Jesus loves them.

So what do you do?

I can't tell you what David does - but for myself - I nail them to the wall - remove any semblance of a pretence that either respect or niceness will ever produce Christ and then show them the gates of Hell and sent them on their way having preached Christ and Him crucified. Life or death. No flowery bits. It works a treat. Mind you that is only with pretentious intellectuals. People who actually know what the bog smells like tend to be more accommodating to decency and respect.

A lot of people have studied Bible translations.

Yes, of course they have.  What is your point?

Excellent. What a wonderful way to Christ's love. Good luck with that.

The thing that provokes me a lot is when ignorant non-believers dismiss the Bible as 'fairy stories'.

The Bible is symbolic. The Bible is also literal. God tells us that "I will hasten my word to perform it". (Jeremiah 1:12) In the King James the words Hasten and Perform are very important. I would not trust any other translation for understanding the promises of God.

You have changed the subject.  I mentioned nothing about arguing with, or disrespecting, people.

What I pointed out was that we should not respect false religion.  To do so is to respect that which is against God (by definition).  To respect atheism is to respect idolatry, lies, unbelief, rebellion and folly.

If someone claims that Jesus is not God, or that God is not real, or some such folly, then we tell them what the Bible says about it - prayerfully, but firmly.

Jesus and the apostles never exercised diplomacy!  That is for politicians, not disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

You shouldn't be so flippant. I have been used of the Father to lead many people to Christ. Including people who were witnessed to for years by brethren who took your position and produced nothing. Diplomacy is utter foolishness.

My point is that I think it takes more than study to gain wisdom.

Indeed it does.  My discernment also told me that the RSV is not a God-approved translation (and study backed this up).

The KJV, on the other hand, while not perfect, has been used mightily, for 400 hundred years, in numerous revivals.  The RSV, to my knowledge, is now mainly the preserve of dusty libraries and dead Liberal intellectuals.  Hardly any Evangelicals use it any more.

Well done. We each have our own way.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
