He doesn't hate Chavez, he just thinks he should be murdered is that Pat's approach then? Not really in line with the teaching of the Gospel, is it?

Again...Pat was wrong. No it wasn't Christ-like to say such a thing. Now Amor, perhaps you can explain to me how the type of Communist regime that Chavez is setting up that will effect the lives of millions for years to come is in line with the teaching of the Gospel. I can give you some pretty non-Christ like quotes that have come out of the mouth of Communist leaders such as Chavez. Robertson may be wrong but he is far less dangerous as the Chavezs and Castros of the world. Will you at least condemn Communism and the anti- God mind set it inspires?

Well any government which seeks to feed the poor, and protect the weak in society, has to be better then one that puts the interest of the rich and powerful first. How much Chavez will acheive this I don't know. I have a fear that political power often corrupts those who hold it. Anyway since your so full of questions, here's one for you. How do you justify the assasination or deposing of a democratically elected leader. As to Communism well I'm not a Marxist but I do believe that the earth's resources should be shared for the benefit of all, and not monopolised by rich and powerful elites. That doesn't, at least in my opinion conflict with the teachings of Christ.

Except according to Leviticus, nobody has any right to claim to land permanently Anyway, do you think the rich landowners got in in a just honest way?

In ancient Israel?

Yes...mostly.

Do you think the poor are pure by virtue of being financially worthless?

If so then I am the purest person you know.

Well any government which seeks to feed the poor, and protect the weak in society, has to be better then one that puts the interest of the rich and powerful first.

Any society that values people on their financial portfolio alone is immoral.

How do you justify the assasination or deposing of a democratically elected leader.

I will answer this question not as a christian but as someone with a brain.

If you assassinate Hitler in 1933 you would have saved the lives of 50 MILLION people.

what is so hard for you to understand about that?

To answer your question first. I don't justify it and I said I don't agree with Pat.

I started this thread because I think what he said is over the top. As far as the Government that Chavez is trying to set up. Look at the models for communism. China and Cuba. They are both slave states. They came into power by offering utopia. Feeding the poor and protecting the weak. What they actually managed to do was create poverty and weaken the people to the point of dependency on big government. The road to hell is always paved with good intentions. Communism does not and never will work. If other nations want to find out the hard way and the elect someone to lead them down that path, what can I say? Look at History. How many failed states do you need to understand that Communism always ends up where it does. Big brother type governments may be a quick fix for a nation's problems but it is not a long term solution. The problem is, once you give all of the power to big brother, he dosen't ever want to leave. Its like using morphine to ease pain but then getting hooked on the morphine. The only way these type of states can compeat in the world market is through massive slave labor. This is a type of bondage that never accomodates human nature. The people are never happy but because they have elected a watchful big brother, they are powerless to do anything about it short of a bloody revolution. Remember what happened in China back in 89. Tianamen Square. The state controlls everything including the elections.

I don't agree with Pats approach but I do believe that the world would be better off without these Chavez type leaders. Don't you?

Yeah... funny how some people on this thread are all about forgiveness when it comes to Muslim sins, but let a Christian step out of line, and all of a sudden, they find their outrage.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
