Science can prove the physical brain stops functioning at death. It cannot prove memories cease to be retained or exist once the physical brain is dead. These are assumptions, not scientific proof. Science cannot prove consciousness ceases to exist when the body dies. That is simply beyond the ability of science to prove.

I apologize for the late response, but I had no Internet for a few days (I had to replace the router).

Science proves that memories are stored in the brain. They are not stored in a thing called soul that takes them with it when it exists the body. Therefore, when the brain is lost, memories are lost, just as feelings, consciousness etc

Science does prove memories are stored in the brain. Science does not prove memories are stored only in the brain and science does not have the ability to do otherwise. Science does not have the ability to prove the existence or non-existence of the soul, so science therefore does not have the ability to prove anything about the soul one way or another, especially about what memories may or may not exist in the soul or whether they are lost. Al science can prove is that memories stored in the brain may be lost when the person dies.

If there was an immaterial thing called soul in the body and memories were stored there, there would be no need for them to be stored in the brain as well.

A true atheist does not believe in God. Any god. What I have found to be true is that many who claim to be atheists are really men running from God or men who don't like the god they think they know. Similar to a family member who has disowned you. They may go around saying to them you don't exist when really nothing has changed.

Many athesists have that same feeling about God. They don't like the ideas or the concepts and so they take what looks like the easiest way out. They seek ways to live in denial about God.

A TRUE atheist probably wouldn't bother to come to a Christian web site to tell everyone he is an atheist and then proceed to argue any points given as false.

Why would such a person care about Christians or what they think? After all they all believe in something he or she says doesn't exist. A person who is comfortable in their own skin about what they believe has no need to debate it.

This means there is still hope for you. Maybe not much.

This Thread is like the child weeks before Christmas telling his Mom he loved her so much.   Then on the day of unwrapping gifts, when he discovered what he wanted most was not there, he screamed at his Mom how much he hated her.  So, the Mom took away every gift and gave them to those who were less fortunate.

Atheists, are little children mad at big Daddy God for not giving them everything they wanted.   When God didn't give them finances, vehicles, homes, suddenly they become atheist's.   jmo!

@LittleMan123

No matter to me, what you've decided for now in your life, there are some of us who still love you, including myself, no matter what label you put on yourself.

Loving you by any of us isn't about your choices, love is about support and kindness, as we grow through difficult times in our lives.

Sometimes we get too much advise, and some uncalled for criticism, and not enough Godly love and understanding of the pain we have to endure sometimes.

I'm with you and praying for you. Life is confusing and hurts terribly sometimes. I've been there.

God bless you and I'm truly praying for you.

A Christian does not come to be a Christian by sight, but by faith and trust, for God has chosen faith and trust as the way to Him. Faith requires that we accept, what we can not see with our eyes, or hold in our hands. You’ll know God is real when you ask him to be real in you.

Cuba has an atheistic government and despite the very oppressive and cruel opposition Christians in Cuba experience, they worship God with passion and with great delight. Baptism is a public proclamation that one identifies with Christ. It is a public confession of faith.

And in Cuba they face a world of constant persecution. Why do they make these public announcements in spite of being oppressed by the government? Because they have experienced a joy, that is beyond a human's ability to describe. It has no boundaries. And so, they overcame the fear of believing and trusting Christ to give them eternal life.

Baptism in Cuba is not a private event, but a very public one, to be witnessed not only by Christians, but unbelievers as well. If you had been there and seen the faces of joy, as the new converts came up out of the water, declaring in front of all, their faith in Christ, you wouldn’t wonder if God was real in their lives, or if he could be real in yours.

If God was not real to them, they would not go through the pain, suffering and humiliation of being associated with Christ. Don't let a pack of atheists convince you that God is beyond our experience.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
