Why waste it by driving motor homes, boats, cross country bikes, and any sport where gasoline is used. Aren't we adding to the problem! :blink:

Gasoline is there to be used. There are many uses for gasoline, and I guess the term "wasted" is relative to the person's interpretation of it.

A person who is boating or using some other recreational vehicle is receiveing a benefit from doing so... usually measured in the terms of "happiness, pleasure, etc."

To me, wasting it is what a Hummer does. But, a Hummer driver will probably disagree and say "they are getting to work safely."

Well when you have made camping a hobby and spent 50,000+ dollars for the equipment to do that, I don't think it would be considered a waste. The prices will some day most likely slow it down a bit, but if we all stopped using any gasoline that was not completely necessary we would be in deep trouble in that industry. One does not want to get a very large amount in storage, for it has a shelf life and when the storage tanks get full you have to shut down the refineries and it takes a long time to restart them.l... and very expensive.

We make a lot of other things out of oil, and if we shut down the refineries all that other stuff will stop also.... It is much more complex than just gasoline.....

People should be more jusdicious, especially with Hurricane Katrina, which is upgrade to a Cat 5 and is heading right at all our off shore platforms and the refinery.

I guess the word (waste) wasn't a good one. Maybe I should have used the words Choice, and Change.

Using gasoline to go back and forth to work is necessary. Heating one's house with gas or oil is necessary.

Getting the toys out each weekend is a Choice. :thumbsup: This word Choice seems to affect us in all areas of our life. :)

Ofcourse the rich will continue to do as they please. The poor will suffer for it.

Exactly. It's always been that way and it isn't going to change now.

Except, the poor are doing just fine with their free paychecks (welfare) and healthcare (medicare) at the expense of those "rich folks."

after katrina the price of gas is going to sky rocket , if you can get it at all.

Today I put $30 into my gas tank. I paid $3.48 per gallion. It didn't even fill my tank.

We just might see $5 per gallion by Thanksgiving.

Isn't this area part of the US oil and natural gas supply?

Thankfully.....if you can use that term, the weather isn't cold and people don't have their heat on yet. I would think it's going to cost alot more to heat homes as well!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
