This is true, however, we should likewise, not let these issues or the anxieties of this life prevent us from keeping watch. Luke 21:34-36 / Rev. 3:1-6

Balance is good, but many are overly burdened with their issues, which pulls them away from being able to keep watch as we were commanded. I believe your words would be better if they were reversed:

It's okay to take care of the issues of the day, however, we shouldn't let them consume us or prevent us from keeping watch.

To some, the cup is half empty, but to others it's half full. We don't live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

The Coming Storm

Some may be wondering why I suspect we may be so near the tribulation period. They also wonder how I can see so much significance in the part Javier Solana may be playing in end-times prophecy. After all, Solana isn't even the EU's new Foreign Minister yet. That won't happen until after the EU's new Constitution is ratified by each member state. The ratification process could take years. It might not even happen. Where's the urgency?

I base my view on what Bible prophecy tells us is to happen in the end times. For many years, it's been commonly believed the Roman Empire will be revived under a 10-nation alliance, led by one man, with a Mediterranean foreign policy agenda. Friends, the reason I think the tribulation may be near is because all of above is exactly what is happening.

The revived Roman Empire appears to be the expanding European Union. The 10-nation alliance seems to be the Western European Union. And, the one man leading these 10 nations with a Mediterranean foreign policy is, at this time, the EU's High Representative Javier Solana.

And, after the EU's new Constitution is ratified, Solana will become the EU's first, super Foreign Minister. The reason I call it "super" Foreign Minister is because this post will combine three present positions into one. As far as foreign and security policy is concerned, it will merge the EU's Foreign Affairs Commissioner, the EU's rotating Presidency and Solana's office of High Representative into one powerful new post.

But, here's the rub: I think it's a big mistake for us to be waiting for the ratification of the EU's new Constitution. It's my opinion, more and more each day Solana is already operating under his new powers. You see, the other two offices are now both lame duck offices. And, since the Madrid bombings, the EU's foreign and security policy concerns are considered urgent.

And, this brings us to the scariest part of it all -- the international communities war against terror. You see, it's my opinion the coming Antichrist and his 10-nation alliance will use their war against terror to wage their 3 1/2 year campaign against God's people in the tribulation period. The Bible tells us:

The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour. These have one purpose, and they give their power and authority to the beast. These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful (Revelation 17:12-14 New American Standard Bible).

Friends, look up. The sky is red from the coming storm.

Terror From the Top?

I hate that title! Where in the world did I come up with a title like Terror from the Top?

It must have been because I was lazy. You see, I already had a title posted Terror From the Pit. So, all I had to do was change pit to top and add a question mark.

But, you must admit, that title does catch someone's attention. And, sad to say, there may actually be some merit to the question it asks. She is the Rev. Brenda Bartella Peterson. And, instead of being known for support of the cause of Christ's followers, she is known for supporting antichrist causes. For example, she supported an atheist who sued to have the words "under God" removed from our Pledge of Allegiance.

Question: Does this tell us something about what things will be like for us under a Kerry Administration? I'm afraid it may. You see, since the beginning of our war against terror, religious affairs have become a top priority to our world leaders. This makes the appointment of Peterson a serious matter we should be very concerned about.

Come to think of it, Terror From the Top? may not actually be that bad.

Kerry's Solana World

Hal Lindsey may be right. This election American voters could be choosing between national sovereignty and world government. The tragedy is, the vast majority of Americans don't even know it.

And, considering their leftist politics, it's not reaching to suspect it's not by accident.

I'm not saying Kerry is willfully trying to undermine or harm America. I think the poor guy actually believes what he's doing is right. Here's why I say this:

Recently, I read about a Pentecostal minister in Sweden who went to jail for giving a sermon about what the Bible has to say about homosexuality. His name is Ake Green. I did a Google search using his name and the Kerry Edwards Website and discussion board came up. And, guess what; the people on Kerry's discussion board were actually debating the issue.

Friends, in America this type of thing shouldn't even be debatable. But, we have reached a time of such spiritual decline that it is.

And, as Solana World rises over Europe, the same could happen here.

They're Talking

Just weeks ago Israel and the European Union were having quite a disagreement. It was over the security fence the Sharon government was building. Sharon told the EU's Javier Solana, either the EU support his fence, or the EU would be out of the peace process. Solana responded, the EU would be involved in the peace process, whether Israel liked it or not.

Not only has Sharon been talking about it to Solana, he's been talking to Kofi Annan too.

But, why should we be surprised? After all, it's not like we've just recently discovered that the prophecies in the ancient book of Daniel are in our time coming true.

Yet, how can we know this? For one thing, there are other ways to interpret those prophecies. And for another, even if our interpretations are correct, that doesn't mean these events are their fulfillments. They could still be years away.

I realize there are other ways to interpret the prophecies in Daniel. However, no matter what anyone tells you, there has yet to be developed a proven set of rules of interpretation to follow when it comes to apocalyptic books like Daniel and Revelation. This means, before the prophesied events come to pass, all we have are educated guesses to tell how things will occur.

As far as today's events being the fulfillments of the prophecies in Daniel, I think we have many strong reasons to believe this. For one thing, geo-political and economic realities have never lined up according to prophecy like they have today. Israel has returned as a nation -- crying out for peace. The Roman Empire has returned -- desiring to bring Israel and the world that peace. At the same moment in history, the computer and our modern forms of communication and transportation not only make world governance possible, they make it inevitable.

But, on top of all of these events, we have the signs (Daniel 7:7-8, 9:27, Revelation 13). We have a 10-nation alliance appear in Europe. We also have one man -- identified with the number 666 -- appear on the scene to lead them. And, on July 1, this one man informs a group of 10 Asian nations his new office is replacing the EU's rotating Presidency system. In other words, if they want to talk to the revived Roman Empire, he was the man they had to talk with.

Now Sharon is learning that lesson too. The man Sharon must talk to in the new, super EU is Javier Solana. In fact, like I said before, shortly after Solana delivered his message to the 10 Asian nations, Solana told Sharon basically the same thing. Solana said the EU would be in the peace process, whether Israel liked it or not.

Sharon got the message. It's being reported that Sharon has been on the phone talking about his Gaza pull-out plan. And, he's talking to Solana.

Friends, it's time we wake up.

Our Lord is coming.

Asleep On A Guess

Scripture indicates the Christian Church will be in a state of sleep just before the Lord returns. Matthew records Jesus saying:

Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. But at midnight there was a shout, "Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him" (Matthew 25:1-6 New American Standard Bible).

Friends, I think this may be where we are today. I believe we're nearing the time of the end, and the Church has gone to sleep just like Jesus predicted. If this were not the case, it's my opinion, the prophetic events we're witnessing today wouldn't be happening. It's also my opinion I wouldn't be having such a hard time getting the information out to the public. Here's why I say this:

As I write, at the helm of this powerful nation are many Christian men and women doing the best they can. But, they too are victims of this end-time sleep. For the most part, their Christian leaders and teachers haven't placed the proper importance on the subject of Bible prophecy.

Why haven't they placed due importance on the subject? I think it's partly because they don't think we Christians will be here anyway. So, why spend valuable time on a controversial issue that won't make any difference anyway?

But, what if they had? What if the spiritual leaders of our national leaders would have placed the proper importance on Bible prophecy? From a prophecy point of view, this idea is totally absurd. It's like letting a group of foxes guard the chickens.

This brings us to what I really wanted to say. I've been getting a lot of angry email from people over my recent challenges to the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine. One person said, if I was really rapture neutral, I wouldn't be attacking the pre-trib view all the time.

So, let me say once again, I'm not against the pre-trib view. I'm only against the way some are teaching it today. It's being taught as something more than it is -- as if it's a proven fact and not just an educated guess. And, if the guess turns out wrong, these leaders will have a lot to regret. They will regret they didn't properly inform their nation's leaders. And, they will regret they didn't prepare their followers to be ready for the possibility of entering into the tribulation. There will many a babe in Christ without enough oil, just like Jesus said.

That's why I've been attacking the pre-trib view. The Church has fallen asleep.

The Rest of Us

If you're back today, it most likely means you understand what I'm trying to do. As you know, I've been drawing a lot of fire. But, I've been getting a lot of support too.

Last night I got an email from a pre-tribber. This person said:

I wanted to give you an email of support. I appreciate your reports, and I have pointed a lot of friends toward your sight. I believe in a pre-trib rapture, but I also believe in being prepared for the worst-case scenario.

You know what? This person really made it all worth while. You see, most of those who are so angry with me have ministries of some kind based on the pre-trib position. But, as indicated above, there are others who understand what I'm doing. As this person said, I just think we should prepare for the "worst-case scenario."

And, even though I can't seem to get any help from the Bible prophecy establishment, I do get plenty of support from those who are the most important to me.

So, today's commentary is for the rest of us.
