HEB: וְהָֽפַכְתִּי֙ כִּסֵּ֣א מַמְלָכ֔וֹת וְהִ֨שְׁמַדְתִּ֔י
KJV: And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms,

We notice the throne used with words like Adonai(Lord), Jehovah, Jerusalem, king, kingdom, David, Isarel, etc. We also find the phrase “father’s throne”.

We note that “on”:

עַל־ = 70+30 = 100

“father's throne”:

כִּסֵּ֣א אָבִ֑יו = (1+2+10+6)+(20+60+1) = 19+81 = 100

Is this trying to tell us something? 10 raised to the second power: 10 x 100 = 100.

In Hellenic “New Earth” as “kaine ge” is:

ΚΑΙΝΗ ΓΗ = (20+1+10+50+8)+(3+8) =89 +  11 = 100

We also have the 12 Apostles times 1000 (10x10x10) equals 12,000 furlongs of New Jerusalem.

So where is the throne of God? It is encoded in the Hebrew name for throne. One phrase that does not show up at all in the Old Testament is the phrase “throne of God”. We have “the Lord’s throne” and “Jehovah’s throne” we do not see “El kis•sê” anywhere. Gematria wise it would be interesting to see:

The throne of Zeus, throne of God, throne+God. I don't know Hebrew but does the phrase below which is equal to "the throne of Zeus" mean "Elohim's throne at Jerusalem"?

If you take New Jerusalem as a literal City, you have the following:

  1. It comes DOWN - thus it must leave the highest heaven and God's throne
  2. It comes FROM God but it still rules
  3. It is a Woman
  4. It is a Wife
  5. It is a Mother
  6. It is the tabernacle of God with men
  7. God is the tabernacle so He too has left His throne
  8. It is 2220 km cube
  9. It is made of precious stones
  10. Nations are outside of it but can visit it
  11. It has a Wall but no threat
  12. It has Gates but they are open, but some of the nations still cannot enter
  13. It being 2220 km high, men cannot breath after about 5 km, and blood boils at 19.3 km That is, about 2,220 X 2,220 X 2200 KM, or 99.1%  of the cube is uninhabitable
  14. Its light lightens the earth - how? The earth is a sphere,

.... and we could go on with more difficulties to your appreciation. But let us leave it off from here. If you want to be sure I'm wrong, why not go through the thread again and see if you satisfactorily answered my objections with plain scripture. Or see if you used scripture that had no plain language on this matter, but that needed extrapolation.

Whatever you decide, God bless

I also don`t think the description of the new Jerusalem is literal.

To reveal Christ to us in Revelation, there are three hundred & thirty references to the figures, shadows, symbols, types, patterns, persons, & buildings of the Old Testament.

So let`s look at some of the detail -

The Precious Stones - Christ`s Rulership.

The foundations of the walls are adorned with all kinds of precious stones. These were on the priest`s breastplate and represent Christ`s rulership. (Ex. 28: 15 – 21)

Judgment – Heb. `mishpat,` meaning judgment, divine law, rulership.

`And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the 1st  foundation was the jasper, the 2nd  sapphire, the 3rd  chalcedony, the 4th  emerald, the 5th  sardonyx, the 6th  sardius, the 7th  chrysolite, the 8th  beryl, the 9th  topaz, the 10th  chrysoprase, the 11th  jacinth, & the 12th  amethyst.`   (Rev. 21: 19 & 20)

Christ the Conqueror.

1.  Jasper – Naphtali - `Conqueror.`

2.  Sapphire – Simeon – `voice of God.`

3.  Chalcedony – Zebulon - `dwelling.`

Christ the conqueror, is the voice of God dwelling with His people.

Christ the KingPriest.

4.  Emerald – Reuben -  `first born, Heir.`

5.  Sardonyx – Asher - `blessing, Priest.`

6.  Sardius – Judah - `King, ruler.`

Christ the first born and heir rules as KingPriest giving spiritual blessings.

Christ the Judge.

7.  Chrysolite – Gad - `administers judgments with justice.`

8.  Beryl – Dan. - `Judge.`

9.  Topaz – Issachar - `wisdom.`

Christ the wise Judge who administers judgments with justice.

Christ at the Father`s Right Hand.

10. Chrysoprase – Manassah –`forgiveness`

11. Jacinth – Ephraim  - `doubly fruitful.`

12. Amethyst – Benjamin - `At the right hand of the Father.`

Christ at the Father`s right hand gives forgiveness & blessing.

                (The Stones – Ex: 28: 17 – 21,     The Tribes – Num. 10: 14 – 27,

                             The Meanings – Gen. 29: 32, 30: 1 – 24,   35: 18)

I like your analogy, and might even support it. But I think you should have posted scripture for your summation. Try this.

In Genesis 1 and 6 the earth is covered with water. It was a sign of God's judgment. The whole earth was subject to an unimaginable horror. This terror is recorded and man, when he sees the clouds gather and big drops of water start cascading out of a darkened heaven, he is traumatized ... UNLESS ... God has given him a comforting guarantee that He will not causes a billion floating, bloating decomposing corpses to litter the receding water. Man can rest because of the rainbow, but he is in another danger zone - a lake of Fire.

And TWICE since the floods is the anger of God provoked beyond measure. Once at Elijah's time when a Foreign woman provokes God with idol worship, and once at Elijah's time at the end of the age and the "day of the Lord". Israel has no rain for three and one half years the time that fire comes from heaven and 450 false prophets are killed by Elijah, and the world, having embraced a Gentile Woman, Mystery Babylon the Whore, descends into idolatry while Elijah again calls fire from heaven (Rev.11).

And BOTH these terrible provocations are surpassed by another two events. In Ezekiel God must vacate HIS HOUSE in Jerusalem because a "Beast" is coming, and in Revelation a Beast occupies the House of God again (2nd Thess.2). Now, what is to stop God annihilating the earth and all that is in it? The provocation is acute. What guarantee has  the creature have that it will survive God's wrath?

THE FOUR LIVING CREATURES is the guarantee.

When God made the living creatures He mad SIX of them; (i) the fish of the sea, (ii) the serpent or creeping things, (iii) the wild beasts ruled by the lion, (iv) the domestic beasts for man's service headed by the ox, (v) the birds that fly and which are headed by the eagle, and (vi) Man ... who was to head all things.

And when we read of the consummation of things in New Heaven and New Earth, what do we find? we find that ONLY FOUR are RECOVERED. The sea, a symbol of death, and a symbol of the military might of the nations, IS NO MORE. And so the fish have no future. But we are compelled to notice that for the serpent, or creeping things, there is also no recovery. The curse of death (the sea) is over and the curse of the serpent is "above all cattle" - forever (Gen.3).

OF THE LIVING CREATURES, THE FOUR REPRESENTED BY THEIR KINGS, ARE RECOVERED - the Man first, birds second, domestic beasts third and wild beats last. These four living creatures appear only when man is in danger of annihilation.

Your analogy is good. Christ is Chief MAN of all men. He is Chief of the heavens - an eagle. He is Chief of Bond-slaves - the mighty ox, and He is Chief of Kings - a lion. In His capacity as Chiefest of all, He does God's will and brings Him glory.

Matthew show Jesus first as King - but descendant of MAN (Abraham and David). Mark, shows no genealogy for the Servant's heritage does not count. Luke is a doctor and shows the Man Jesus - descendant of Adam. And John's genealogy is the pee-existing One Who has no beginning - the One who soars above the heavens - an Eagle.

Very good explanation and detail there. So scriptures -

OVERVIEW: The Four Visions.

The predominant aim of Revelation is the setting forth the splendours of the Son of Man, & to reveal His glorious person.  There are four visions of the Son of Man as He is known in the heavenly realm & each vision in turn carries through to completion one aspect of the fourfold ministry of Christ which He exercised when on earth. His Kinship was expressed in Matthew, His Heirship in Mark, His Mediatorship in Luke, & His Judgeship in John.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Vision 1.    CHRIST -  Head of the Body.   (Rev. 1 – 3)

This reveals the empowered Son of Man as the Sovereign Administrator.

`in His right hand He held 7 stars.`

Vision 2.   CHRIST -   HEIR     (Rev. 4 – 7)

This reveals the enthroned Son of Man as the Supreme Executor.

`in His right hand He held the 7 sealed book.`

Vision 3.    CHRIST -  MEDIATOR       (Rev. 8 – 13)

This reveals the exalted Son of Man as the Stately Mediator.

                        `in His hand is a sacred censor.`

Vision 4.    CHRIST -  JUDGE       (Rev. 14 – 22)

This reveals the entitled Son of Man as the Sublime Adjudicator.

                                         `in His hand is a sharp sickle.`

To reveal Christ to us in Revelation, there are three hundred & thirty references to the figures, shadows, symbols, types, patterns, persons, & buildings of the Old Testament.

This unveiling is the culmination of all the truths expressed from Genesis to Revelation, for all scripture is centered on one purpose and that is to reveal Christ to us in all His Glory.

Well ... we had a most interesting exchange. It's been a pleasure. I think we've both learned  from it.

All I can add, and you probably know it, is that the High Priest of Israel carried the twelve as onyx on the shoulders, and as precious stones on the breastplate. Shoulders denote strength and although the breastplate was called "judgment", it is close to the heart. Our Lord Jesus, typified by the High Priest, carries us weaker ones in strength and love to the mercy seat.

What a Savior!

Thank you Ad Hoc,

I have so appreciated our discussions, even though some details we don`t see the same ....yet. I see that you love God`s word (and Him) and have studied it in quite detail over the years.

May God continue to bless you and yours,

regards, Marilyn,

Where is the Lord`s Own Throne?

We know from God`s word that the Lord has a throne on the earth, in the New Jerusalem and also in the highest realm. The word `throne,` indicates authority. So where is the Lord`s own Throne, His seat of Power and authority?

I believe God`s word tells us that the Father has set His Son on Mount Zion in the angelic realm, the highest heaven.

`I have set my King on my holy hill of Mount Zion.` (Ps. 2: 6)

And we see in that this Mount Zion is in the angelic realm.

`you have come to Mount Zion and to...angels.....God ...to Jesus.` (Heb. 12: 22 - 24)

We are given the details of the Lord`s own throne in the highest heaven.

`Behold, a throne set in heaven and one sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance;...` (Rev. 4: 2 & 3)

This is the throne the Father has SET for His Son. It is for a kingpriest. The throne represents kingship while the stones represent priesthood, for they are the first and last, incorporating all the others, on the High priest`s breastplate.

The jasper stone was for the tribe of Naphtali, (Ex. 28: 20, last stone, Num. 10: 27, last tribe). The meaning is prevailed, (Gen. 30: 8).

The sardius stone was for the tribe of Judah, (Ex. 28: 17, first stone, Num. 10: 14, the first tribe). The meaning is to use the hand, power and authority. It is from this tribe that the kings came.

Here are the two meanings - kingship and prevailing, conqueror.

`Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.` (Rev. 5: 5)

Thus we see that the Father has set His Son on Mount Zion as the highest KingPriest, who prevailed and conquered and thus is worthy to bring judgment.

There is more to discuss however that is a start. What can you contribute?

Hello Marilyn C,

The relationship between precious stones and Israel tribes is interesting, but I believe that we should use the tribe count in Revelation to match it with the count of precious stones found in the same book. I thus made a table with possible correlations:
