I don't think I've ever posted a full, long article before, but I am with this one. It's an interesting read with things to think/pray about.

From posted article.

But Rabbi Mordechai Greenwald, leader of a Jerusalem synagogue, said connections between the Gaza evacuation and Katrina should not be made.

"No rabbi can tell you why such a disaster struck," Greenwald told WND. "Doing so, making these statements, is dangerous and counterproductive. There have been debates the past 50 years for the reason of the Holocaust, and we still don't know what it was about. Some things we are not meant to know."

Greenwald said the religious leaders who publicly blame Katrina on U.S. support of the withdrawal "do not speak for the majority of rabbis. We cannot say who is being punished for what."

After spending a very long time mulling this whole subject over, I think I am going to have to agree with Rabbi Mordechai Greenwald.

we did deserve it.

Israel doesn't need America.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yod, we have several thousand of the people who have been displaced around now, and I can tell you that none that I have met or seen deserve what happened there.

I certainly don't deserve it either..... I didn't even vote for Mr. Bush, and he is the one that has pushed the Gaza removal more than any other American I know..... and you have thrown that man up in my face as a great person for the past two years..... So in my books the people who voted him into office are the only people who even might deserve anything.....

I have edited my comments to avoid any harm it would do to someone who has been directly affected by Katrina.

I wasn't speaking of them though. I was speaking about us. As time goes by we will all see that this wasn't a localized catastrophe. Oh well...now I know how Noah must have felt

Just from the responses I've seen on this board to such an enormous warning, I have lost hope for America's recovery because this isn't the end of our problems. It's just another huge one piled on top. There are more coming which will make us nostalgic for something so small. I honestly think we are sunk. You should know, Sam, that is totally out of character for me to be so pessimistic about America.

But I won't lie to myself.

Bush is as good a politician as you will find in this country. I believe he's a decent man still.

But he doesn't have a clue about this either evidently....and I'm absolutely certain that Kerry would still have been much worse...and we will get exactly what we deserve in the next election.

I shudder to think about it.

It is a game of pick your poison, I guess

that's easy

Abortion is still legal.=Federal funding would be up and partial birth abortions raging

The country is totally divided. - I think it would have been much worse but that is a toss up.

Higher gas prices than ever...even before the hurricane.- Environmentalist whackos would be setting policy. There would be less refining

For the last 4 years those living below the poverty rate has increased while the middle class has decreased.- the middle class would be mostly gone

Bush started with a huge surplus and now we have a record deficit.- . We were in a recession that was hidden by "cooked books" but that is beside your point. The answer is that we would be just as broke but more taxes is the only answer to Democrats

Our states are strained by the illegal immigrants that are crossing the border.- Kerry would have formed a new beaurocrasy after years of some kind of blue ribbon panel...and studied by some committee...and a huge increase in taxes. MORE immigrants would be coming because he would also increase their entitlement benefits.

Public confidence in the President's ability to do his job is well below 50% due to his war, his policies on Israel and the hurricane showing just how insecure the homeland actually is.- Confidence in Kerry was below that from the start

Record numbers of people have lost their jobs to outsourcing and the admin says outsourcing is good. - Higher numbers of people would be losing jobs because businesses would be shutting down or moving offshore.

Gays have made greater strides in their agenda in the last 4 years than ever before.- gay marriage would be the law

China is buying out our country and could bankrupt us tomorrow if they chose.- they bought it under Clinton already. They would have Kerry in their back pocket

Our government has alienated our allies, including Canadians and Israeli's= a draw...but the French and Iranians would like us more if we could be manipulated. Maybe you have a point?

Bin Laden is still loose....Remember "Dead or Alive."- bin laden would still be running afghanistan...with Saddam would still be murdering his own people by the hundreds of thousands

I am being as honest with you as I can be. Bush may be failing us now over Israel but Kerry would have been a disaster from the beginning

What about the Jews in Israel that supported this thing? When do they get their Katrina? My point being is that Katrina was just a bad storm. I didn't support the pull out either but it had nothing to do with Katrina. The Jews were forced to give up their homes. The Big Easiers were forced to give up their lives in many cases. Israel will survive and N.O. will be rebuilt and we are still allies. There are millions upon millioms of Christians in the U.S. that have a special heart for Israel and God is well aware of that. There is quite a bit of shanagans going on from the secular liberal crowd in this country that worries me. Yod layed some of them out. The liberals don't seem to be big supporters of the state of Israel which leads to this question. Why are there so many liberal Jews. It makes no sence. Gaza is in the hands of the Islamonuts now. Why not build a tall fence around it?

Environmentalists might have taken a better look at those levies and the shores of Louisiana.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
