There was no Roman Church when Christ instituted his passover Memorial. The covenant made in his blood. The feasts and their sacrifices all, were made by him through him and for him.

The passover it was the Lord's passover over the houses who had the blood on their door posts according to the instructions.

This is it the Angel of death did not stopped when he showed the blood of the Lamb on the door posts, he Passover.

There was not book of Leviticus that time, there was not priests or Tabernacle or Aaron...this even took place before Moses have the ten commandments and bount the Israelites in the Covenant of Sinai..

This event was about not everyone Israelite, but about the first born in every family, and the first born in all the cattle.

Actually the commant was given that all the first born in Egypt, will die on the day the Lord will pass over, or the death Angel of the Lord, including the first born of the cattle.

The the Lord made an exception for the first born of the Israelites and the first born from their cattle.

All the first born in the Land of Egypt including the cattle were as good as dead waiting for the time when Angel of the Lord will pass looking for them and give them death.

In other words they were marked for dead.

Then the Ĺord said to Moses even the first born of the Israelites and their first born cattle are mark for dead, they are going to die that night, that included Aaron the first born but not Moses.

When the did what the Lord asked only the Israelites to do, the Lord gave Life to their first born, man and cattle and they lived he delivered them from the death that was upon them by giving them Life.

We can see that by what the Lord said to Moses, the following days when he said your first born, and the first born of your cattle now are mine....and he asked them to give their first born to him, and then he took the Livites for him self and Aaron, and asked them to redeem their first born who exceeded the number of the Levites.

They are mine, I gave them Life, they are in my life, the life I gave them. They are not yours, they are mine, that's what he said to Moses and them.

So in the Passover the Lord gave Life to those who were marked for dead...

The passover was for the Life of the first born...and the beginning of something knew.

And then he had the Priests and the High Priest and the cattle to do the Atonement for the rest of the people in the Temple.

He set apart those he gave Life in the day of the passover for the services in the Temple before him.

No one else was allowed to enter the Temple..and touched anything in the Temple...

The priests were given Life to be in the Holy Temple, and to eat from the table of the Lord, the Holy bread, and the holy sacrifices, and everything offered to the Lord, for the priests and their families only...

It is very difficult to comprehend the context of your post...

It is easier to understand what the sister is saying.

Jesus had the power to avoid being capture by the mob, and at all times after that he had the power to avoid and not go through to what he went through and that includes him dieing on the Cross.

Jesus knew everything that will happen to him in every detail. He show himself going through in what he went through in every detail,  and he also showed the fulfilling of the prophetic that was written about him, one of them in Isaiah 53:.

And the Father had revealed everything to him and what was yet to be established was the right timing for this to begin to happen.

Jesus said that I must drink this cup of affliction that is set before me, this is it, the Father told him, the time is now, this is what we have been waiting for, for the right time.

Neither Starise nor this one will answer the questions. Jesus was not just a super Rabbi, and the apostles were not just super talmudim at the writing of the new testament Gospel. He was high priest and the writers were priests as well.

Amen, Jesus is the High Priest ever more, and he is the Lamb of God.

This is why Jesus is the High Priest, the mediator between man in general and the Heavenly Father.

He is a new type of High Priest he has nothing to do with the High Priest of the Sinai Covenant and their Temple.

This is why he open the way to the Heavenly Father and to the Heavenly Inheritance for everyone who believes in him.

And the Spirit of God for everyone who believes in him is marked with his Life, and with his Spirit,

Their hearts door posts are having the blood of Jesus Christ.

They are in the Life of his blood, and in him, in his Heavenly Inheritance.

Jesus says they are mine ,I have given them my Life...

The next one is very sensitive,  they have eaten from the Lamb God has provided..

The Lamb they eat was alive...the Bronge Serpent was alive and he gave Life to everyone who was bitten by the Serpent.

We are in the Lamb of God and we are in his Heavenly Inheritance...

We are in his righteousness because Jesus Christ died for the forgiveness of our sins.

Yes. But.....who was spared from death? The firstborn. Thereby their houses were spared. The firstborn. And more importantly (imo, as covenantal biblicist)

What covenant was being fulfilled?

Passover overall is as memorial feast (unleavened bread) is a memorial of the promises made in covenant to their father Abraham. In other words it is not Jewish centric, but Abraham Centric.

Ex 2:24  And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

In Christ, and the new covenant made in his blood we as well are the seed of Abraham.

Our passover. Our memorial feast of the fulfillment of Gods promise to us. A father of Many nations

Ga 3:29  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
The passover is about the promises made to our father Abraham PERIOD, Full stop. It not about  mount Sinai, Horeb, it is about mount Zion

Lev 8:5  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
6  Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
7  And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean. {let them shave … : Heb. let them cause a razor to pass over, etc }
8  Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.
9  And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:
10  And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:
11  And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.

14  Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.
15  And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.
16  For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
17  For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
18  And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.
19  And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

The above is the scriptural shadow and pattern.

I see that you are bringing many things into the discussion, and I would suggest that we walk those matters at hand together in a way the readers can connect and contribute and benefit. I am sure that you would like that...

I suggest something because we talked about the Passover and matters related to it. And this time with relevant scripture.

For that reason we should start with the Lord's Passover in the Land of Egypt...and see what we can discover and move forwards because that what the Lord did, he used that event to move them forwards into what was coming ahead.

About matters he had proposed to do, and he was revealing them to them little by little.

He had to deal with Moses with new things which he had not made them known to Abraham...

Besides that God will provide a Lamb... and this is something we can looked at it later on, or anything else About Abraham.

This time we are with Moses and the Israelites at the time of asking them to keep the Passover and forwards from there...and we walk together from there...moving towards.

I posted the relevant scripture below.

I post by memory and I must have read some commentary using the words " the Angel of death"...is it no that the DESTROYER that kill the first born? Perhaps this is why they also call him the Angel of death...I will use the destroyer from now on to align my with the scriptures.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

And is not the only time that the reference to the destroyer is made..in another part in Samuel 2 24:16

16But when the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the LORD relented from the calamity and said to the angel who was destroying the people, “Enough! Withdraw your hand now!” At that time the angel of the LORD was by the threshing floor of Araunahf the Jebusite.

Exodus 12:23

New International Version
When the LORD goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.

New Living Translation
For the LORD will pass through the land to strike down the Egyptians. But when he sees the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe, the LORD will pass over your home. He will not permit his death angel to enter your house and strike you down.

English Standard Version
For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you.

Berean Study Bible
When the LORD passes through to strike down the Egyptians, He will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway; so He will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
